What kind of QR code are we even talking about here? The only way to pay is by using a PDF417 code—you know, the standard used on official bank forms and payment slips...
How did you guys manage to get the dark mode working in Cash App? My screen is still blindingly bright, and I can't find a single setting to switch it over (even though I've already got dark mode enabled on my phone)...
cosmicpanther70 said:Yeah, sure. But why do you think they’re pushing for direct deposits? It’s just so they can track exactly who owns what...
It feels like a bit of a trap, honestly, even if everything eventually converts to dollars automatically.
Yeah, they can, but they’ll apply the same rules they use for cash transactions. Anything over a certain limit is going to get flagged by the IRS, and there might even be a cap on how much you can swap that way...
analogwalker2 said:Well, you can't really do it via a traditional bank transfer since there isn't a standard routing number involved, but—and here is the clever part!—if the sender also uses the app, they can just send funds straight to your mobile number. They simply enter the amount, punch in your phone number, and hit send! Isn't that convenient?
And then they'll take a nice little cut for themselves. 😬
Andrew Booth2 said:I’m in the same boat—honestly, I’m looking at maybe saving $2 or $3 a month just by skipping those little transaction fees... It’s not exactly life-changing money, right? I mean, until there's a specific reason to use it, I think I'll just stick to my mobile banking app—it's just way more convenient for everything else. Maybe I'll use the app for paying for parking once in a while, though! Does anyone know how long this promotion actually lasts?
Linda Wood96 said:Got a few questions myself: 1.) How long does the physical card actually last? The PayPal pages mention some expiration date where you have to swap it for a new one, but I couldn't find how long that window is—and if there’s a fee for getting a replacement $10. 2.) I also saw somewhere that the bill pay fee is flat at $1.25. So, am I really paying the exact same fee whether it's a bill for $17 or just for $333? 3.) Can I manually enter the recipient info when paying a bill, like if the bill doesn't have a barcode I can just scan? 4.) How does the IRS look at these cards if, say, I'm topping up my balance with cash every month at a Walmart checkout $333 (you know, untraceable money)?
Yeah, the fee is fixed and sits at $0.00 right now.
