Ugh, my bad. I totally blanked on voting. Honestly, Metallica and Metronomy would’ve walked away with my votes if I hadn't slept on it.
Congrats to Zep and Metallica. And all this talk about manipulation? I don't get it. Didn't people warn everyone about this two weeks ago? Some people just never learn, I guess...

Tribute Concert for Karlo Metikoš - Josip Lisac (1995)
So, there was this real dilemma: do I pick this album or the Gubec Beg record from '74?
Mostly because that version of janini ludilo on the Gubec Beg album is just miles ahead of how it sounds here. Honestly, it’s way better.
But hey, the fresh vibe Josip gave these tracks—with that full orchestral sound and all that raw emotion—really makes this one of her absolute best works.
About one youth
I believe everything you say
I am suffering
Give me the word
Ave Maria
While I think about us
Did I ever tell you I love you
Hazarder
Fog
janini ludilo

I honestly don't even know what to say. I didn't vote for my own album, but man, I definitely wasn't expecting to see Terrence Howard sitting at the top of the list.
It kind of bugs me that he’s being labeled here as the absolute worst winner of the Album of the Week...
I'll probably start a new thread later today, maybe this afternoon... 🕺

Introducing The Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby
This debut from a killer R&B artist dropped right when Prince and MJ were basically running the whole damn game. Terrence really shows off what he can do, both behind the mic and with the pen.
If You All Get To Heaven
If You Let Me Stay
Wishing Well
I'll Never Turn My Back On You (Father's Words)
Dance Little Sister
Seven More Days
Let's Go Forward
Rain
Sign Your Name
As Yet Untitled
Who's Lovin' You

So close, yet so damn far. We were right on the edge of having the first turbo-folk album of the week 🤣
edit: right on cue, someone goes and votes for Jay 🎉

Hahahaha, I’m right there with you, Džej, nedjelja primus🙏
Primus hits just as hard for me too; they are seriously funky as hell👍
Slowdive kind of reminds me of my absolute favorite band—the Coctea Twins.
Expect a ton of noise from me throughout the week🙂

Over the last few years, I’ve felt Graceland starting to slip a bit in my books, moving closer toward ROTS. For me, Graceland was just the intro to that whole African sound, which he then expands in ROTS and carries over into J. Amerika. I loved Graceland because of how that rock n roll vibe blended with those rhythms, but man, those damn drums on ROTS? They grab you again with every single track. It’s just masterclass level. 🙏
The Obvious Child Can't
Can't Run But
The Coast
Proof
Further To Fly
She Moves On
Born At The Right Time
The Cool, Cool River
Spirit Voices
The Rhythm of the Saints

Dennis Martin6 said:So you're saying people who play fair get treated the exact same way as cheaters? Fine then, I'm done with this thread. 👋
Oh, please. Where are you even going? 😒
For me, this whole thing is just about sitting back on a Friday, spinning a few albums, and voting for whatever actually sounds good to my ears. I don't view this as some high-stakes competition, and honestly, I couldn't care less if my picks or my favorites don't take home the win.
Wait, so Modest Mouse is the (only) album of the week now?

Maybe we just run a tie-breaker right after the main poll wraps up? Just throw in the albums that actually managed to win? 🤔
Honestly, I don't even mind this whole setup where we end up with multiple winners.

I don't get how you could have been dropping comments on the Eurovision Song Contest thread in the chat like a month or two ago... or am I just tripping and misremembering everything? 😕

hello,
I’m looking for some solid ENT recommendations in Chicago. Dealing with a benign thyroid tumor. Any leads?
thanks!
