Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Thanks Kenneth Hernandez67🙏
I checked out their site: www.harni-clinic.com and honestly, it’s top-tier. I spent way too much time scrolling through their forum, and all I can say is it's legit—Mrs. Harni answers everything with these super detailed, easy-to-understand explanations (perfect for us mere mortals). They’ve got tons of threads, and the whole thing is actually really educational and interesting to dive into!👍

Kenneth Hernandez67 says:
my gynecologist told me I have an underdeveloped and retroverted uterus.

Mine too—the doc said mine is basically turned backward (I guess that’s what it means), and she warned me it’d be a struggle to even conceive. She also mentioned I'd probably deal with nasty pains during early pregnancy, needing meds just to get through it, and that labor would be a total nightmare. Honestly, the woman just completely floored me. Hey Kenneth, can you tell me more about this or maybe point me toward a site where I can read up on it? I don't actually know the medical term for it, so I have no clue what to search for. Help me out, please!

🙏

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Look, what you said isn't exactly the order I'm responding to. 😉

I used an IUD from when I was 21 until I was 24. I had it taken out once I decided I didn't want kids. So yeah, I got it put in BEFORE I ever gave birth.

One OBGYN wouldn't even write me a prescription, so I just went to a different doctor. Honestly, there’s zero medical reason why you couldn't use an intrauterine device—an IUD—before having a baby. I ended up buying one with a prescription while traveling abroad, since that specific type wasn't even available back in the old days.

Then, about a year after my first kid, I went ahead and got the IUD put back in.

But then, like two and a half years ago, everything went sideways with some hormonal issues—PCOS, crazy cycles, and heavy anemia—so I started taking birth control pills. It felt stupid to have both the pill and the IUD at the same time, so I just had the thing removed.

Since I’m hitting that age where I’m starting to notice perimenopause symptoms, I’m gonna stick with the pills so I don't feel like crap.

As for diaphragms? No way. I'd only ever use one if I absolutely had to. Same goes for all those vaginal foams, creams, and whatever else is out there. I honestly hate all that prep work during sex, and besides, I wouldn't even feel safe using them.

It feels like nothing has changed since the old system; doctors are still being just as clueless about IUDs today. When I first decided I wanted some long-term protection, I asked my doctor about getting an IUD, and I got this incredibly stupid response: "That's not for you, you're too young, you haven't had kids yet; IUDs are for women who have already given birth and, in the best-case scenario, aren't planning on having more." Well, great. Just like before, I'm left feeling completely unheard.

You mentioned you had one before pregnancy and were fine, and I honestly think the same would've applied to me. Next time, I'm definitely seeing a private specialist. My local clinic doctor—at least the one I saw—doesn't seem to have the will or the time to actually explain how an IUD works, why it's okay, or why it isn't.
Ever since I started these pills, I've been stuck in this constant state of depression and mood swings. This isn't me. My life hasn't changed, my surroundings are the same, but everything just feels wrong. I'm pretty sure I'll be off them very soon, but I need to find something just as reliable as the pills.
Stop having sex😉. Six months isn't that long, right?🙄 I guess we'll see.

I can't stand condoms. It feels like putting a straightjacket on him😁. It's just not it. (I really wish there was an emoji for being trapped inside a giant condom here)😉

I’ve been wondering about something: why don't women who've already had kids go for the IUD? Seriously, if anyone here actually knows their stuff, let me know. And why can't women who haven't given birth yet—but plan to—use them? Also, what's the deal with diaphragms?🙏 🙏

Take them, seriously. Do you guys even realize you're basically playing Russian roulette with blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks? It's insane.
Zinc, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, and all those B vitamins—B2, B6, B12—basically if you're low on these, your nerves are gonna be shot and you’ll feel like absolute garbage. It’s pretty much why people on the pill end up feeling so depressed and wired. 😲 😲 😲

I don't know if you guys actually found them... I mean...
Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up.

Honestly, you guys really ought to be taking some vitamin and mineral supplements.

Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty on edge, and honestly, kind of depressed too. I started taking Celest, and I have never felt this "weird" before—I’ve never really dealt with these kinds of lows. I’m thinking the pills are definitely the culprit, so I went back and actually sat down to read through the side effects in the manual. And right there, among everything else, it says this:
Central nervous system stuff: migraines, headaches, all that crap. Mental depression is a heavy weight to carry. It’s like this constant, suffocating fog that just won't lift, making everything feel completely pointless and draining every ounce of energy you have left. Honestly, it’s exhausting just trying to exist some days. I don’t have migraines or anything like that, but man, this depression is hitting me hard. I’m positive it’s the pills because I just feel so down, and these dark thoughts keep circling my head. I’ve never acted like this before, so it feels really weird. Other than the depressive vibes, the birth control actually works for me—no other side effects, and my period cramps have basically vanished, which is a huge plus since sex is easy and stress-free now. Still, I can't wait to get off them. Once my guy finishes his military service and starts his job in about six months to a year, we can finally start trying for a baby.🙂
I'm taking Vitamin C effervescents and those ABC Plus multivitamins from Natural Wealth, plus I stay pretty active, but I'm a smoker so my brain's basically fried anyway.
I can't wait to finally quit drinking them.
Swelling on my penis – any advice? in Health ·
He finally saw his doctor today.🙏 🙏 🙏
She asked if he’d taken any hits lately—he hasn't—and then she handed him a referral for a urologist. He went down to the hospital to see one, but those guys only run clinics twice a week 😲 . The doc told him he’s looking at a month or two wait unless he knows someone on the inside who can pull some strings. We’re gonna try to find a connection, but if we strike out, we’ll just pay for a private specialist.
Honestly, I feel like I can breathe again now that he's actually getting things moving, so I'll let you guys know how the urology appointment goes. Thanks for being there for me, seriously. 😘 👋
Swelling on my penis – any advice? in Health ·
I’ve been sitting on this for a minute, debating whether I should even post this because it’s kind of a sensitive topic, but I really need some perspective. So, my boyfriend noticed this swelling—like a painful lump right on the top part of his penis near the head—and it hurts like hell whenever he touches it or when we're having sex. I’ve been nagging him for days to just get an appointment with a urologist through his insurance, and honestly, I’m starting to freak out. This doesn't feel like something we can just brush off, and I have zero clue what's actually going on. I'm spiraling a bit here, just praying it isn't something life-altering.
It looks like I’m gonna have to basically drag him by the arm to the doctor's office at the clinic. The way he keeps stalling is super sketchy, too; he’s gone totally quiet and shut down, which makes me think he’s just terrified they’re going to tell him it’s something serious. But hey, who knows, since he won't even open his mouth to talk about it.
Anyway, wrapping this up because I’m heading back to him right now to tell him he needs to call the doctor and book something tomorrow (pretty sure this is like the third time I've said it today). He’s usually not this irresponsible with his health, so I’m convinced he’s just paralyzed by fear and won't admit it. I’m a mess myself, but I can't just sit here and stay silent.
Please help me out 🙏 😢

P.S. We haven't asked anyone else yet. I was seriously considering asking my mom earlier today, but I don't want to go behind his back while he's being so stubborn about not talking. I'm feeling pretty desperate

Wait a second: you mean you're pulling in maybe $2,100 a month,$296.😲 Look, sorry, but that just doesn't add up for me—unless you live in some country sitting on a massive oil reserve or something.😲

The movie is awesome👍
I honestly didn't see it being this good. Man, life is wild. The craziest part of all was when my mom (the good old Kim) actually asked me for sex advice. Oh my god! My friend and I were watching it, and she turns to me and goes, "Hey, imagine if your own mother complained to you that her man doesn't want to lick her?"😉

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
I’ve been dealing with this since day one. My period wrapped up on Tuesday, February 25th, and ever since then, I’ve had this nasty, gross discharge. I’ve seriously never dealt with anything like this before, so I'm low-key freaking out. Could it be because of Celesta? Usually, I just get some discharge the day after my cycle ends—which is totally normal—but this? Fuck, I am definitely not winning today.😢

Hey, I was wondering if it's actually okay to "freely" have sex after being on Cilest for six days, especially since my period wrapped up yesterday. The instructions don't say anything about needing extra protection for another month or whatever. A friend of mine totally spooked me with some random advice, so now I'm just sitting here questioning everything!😕
Daniel Lopez said:Can someone please explain thyroid hormone disorders to me? Like, how does it actually show up, what needs to be done, and all that stuff...

I can try to help, but I’m just a regular person, not a doctor. My cousin deals with a thyroid issue that basically kicked in during puberty. She had this massive growth spurt, but she’s super thin and weak now, and honestly, I even noticed a bit of a "deformity"—if you want to call it that—in her face. Her whole face looks different; it doesn't happen to everyone, obviously, but with her, her eyes look really prominent, almost bulging, her forehead is huge, and her cheekbones are sunken. It’s actually hard to wrap my head around because just a few years ago she was such a beauty, and now... in the prime of her youth... she’s just struggling with how she looks.😢
Her aunt is constantly taking her to specialists in Cleveland for tests, and she’s on these hormone pills that she'll probably have to take for the rest of her life. There's also a big question mark over whether she'll ever be able to have kids. Turns out, her grandma had the same disorder, just a milder version. So, in her case, it's definitely genetic.
The reason I don't know much more about her condition is that she still isn't ready to talk openly about being sick or how she's doing, except with her mom. I totally get it, though—she's only 16, and I can't even imagine how she feels. From how she acts and the little we do talk, it seems like her doctors did a good job explaining things, and for now, she's handling it pretty calmly. 😢
