But honestly, that "bit about gynecologists" really hit the nail on the head!
Drew Scott20 said:I honestly have zero clue. I look at my classmates at med school and I can't picture a single one of them actually being a gynecologist, and besides, nobody has even mentioned wanting to go down that path yet. p.s. don't even get me started on that holistic medicine book—it should be banned and wiped off the face of the earth just like Matko Marušić

Losing something like that hurts because it cuts that tie between you and something incredibly precious, if you catch my drift. It isn't just about the car, though. You're carrying that guilt toward your dad and the choices you made, knowing that losing the car was entirely on you and you're the only person you can point the finger at.
I honestly don't know what to tell you, or when the feeling will fade, because if I knew, I wouldn't be hanging out on this forum instead of studying for tomorrow. I'm a total moron who can't seem to force myself to hit the books... ah... whatever...
This hits way too close to home👍 I feel the exact same way.
John, your story really hit me hard. I feel for you, man, because it’s obvious how much this is eating at you. Maybe if you could just track down the same car, your heart might finally stop aching. Wishing you nothing but the best, sweetie 😘

I gotta disagree here, at least when it comes to their denim. Honestly, the quality of their pants is unmatched, and even my lady at the dry cleaners agrees. Like, they’re legit durable, wash them all you want. You can't beat them, I love them. As for the rest of the stuff, I don't really know because I basically only ever hit up this shop for pants since I know they actually have my size. I guess I tried something else once and... maybe I just wasn't feeling how it fit, so I passed... who knows?😬 but the pants, man, the pants are killer.👍

It would be freaking amazing to wake up and actually see clearly instead of fumbling around for my glasses first thing. The tech is still pretty fresh, though, so we don't really have solid data on how it holds up for older folks yet. The procedure itself isn't even that pricey when you factor in the cost of frames, lenses, and solution over the next few years.
Plus, those cute glasses and contacts look great while giving you that sharp vision.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay what she's dealing with—far from it. Her prescription just keeps climbing every single year, and right now she's hovering near -13. In my opinion, she really needs to do something about it before she hits a point where she can't even hold down a job. That's why I'm so curious about anyone who's actually gone through this surgery with such a massive prescription.
Btw, I've been rocking glasses since I was eight, but my prescription is basically nothing and it's actually getting better; I think by the time I'm 35, I might finally ditch the specs for good.
My coworker is sitting at a -12😢 The only silver lining is that she wears contacts, because according to her, she basically hasn't stepped foot outside without them since forever—contacts are her lifeline, since nobody actually knows just how blind you really are without them.😢
So... I was chatting with her and brought up LASIK, but she’s running from the idea like it's the plague. Her whole mantra is: "I can still see something this way, and I'm not risking total blindness."
Is it actually possible that the surgery is that sketchy, or is my colleague just dealing with a massive amount of fear? Money isn't even an issue here.
I’ve been getting my shots for three years running now, and honestly, thank God. We finally pulled the trigger on this after we dealt with a bout of the flu about three years ago—man, it was brutal... we were totally wiped out.😲 I still remember being stuck in bed for 13 days straight; we couldn't even roll over. My mom had to bring us food constantly, because if she hadn't stepped in, we probably would've kicked the bucket. Then she ended up catching the flu herself, even though she was wearing a mask and barely spent any time hanging out with us. My husband ended up with pneumonia in one lung on top of the flu, and I got hit with bronchitis. My mom was dragging that bronchitis around until summer. She couldn't sleep at night because the coughing fits were literally choking her. Needless to say, we stocked up on every syrup and remedy under the sun—especially that stuff from Dr. Thais—but even that didn't do squat. It was a total nightmare.😲
Ever since we started getting vaccinated, not only have we stayed healthy, but for three winters now, we haven't even had a sniffle. We feel invincible.🙂
Oh, and... we eat a ton of garlic. We don't eat it raw—don't want to be rude to the people around us😁, but I throw it into basically everything I cook. Every single meal!!
placidotter15 said:Honestly, I don't even care. I just rewatched it. When that final dance scene hit, I cranked the volume to the max and sang my heart out. So what if I love that song? Even if the whole movie feels a little too "socially conscious" or whatever, and even with Paterson and all that other stuff, that's exactly why I dig it so much.😬
God, me too... seriously, me too...👋
... I honestly lost count of how many times I've sat through this movie...
I actually went looking up some photos of Jennifer Grey... and man, she looks almost unrecognizable😲 compared to that adorable little thing from back in '87, while Paterson basically looks exactly the same... just twenty years older.😉
Don't even start with Harni... I've been posting on one of their threads for months now and getting zero response.🙄 😁 And then yesterday, I actually called Harni's office, but the nurse basically "politely" shut me down and just asked when I wanted to book an appointment instead.😠 😁 I don't live in the city, so making that trip right now is basically mission impossible... Same thing happened when I called a few private OB-GYNs in my hometown—nobody will give me a single shred of advice without an in-person exam first. The headache is that all my results—liver panels and hormone profiles from the last two years—are sitting in my file with my current insurance doctor. Which means if I decide to go private, I'd probably have to redo every single test from scratch.😲 ... I mean, money isn't the biggest issue, but I'm wondering if I'd have to foot the whole bill myself😲 since I have health insurance and haven't paid a dime for any tests done by my primary provider so far!! If I go the private route, how much does it cost to redo everything? Do I get billed for every individual lab?
Also, my old doctor (before he retired) told me back in December 2004 that I really needed to see an endocrinologist in Cleveland—which sounds fine to me! He said more testing would make things clearer. But when I went back four months later and met this new guy, he didn't bother referring me to an endocrinologist or even giving me a referral for liver or hormone tests. Instead, he just handed me a prescription for Diane 35. I listened to him and started the meds, but honestly, I feel like we both messed up—me as the patient and him as the doctor—for starting therapy based on labs that were already 5 or 6 months old.
So, what's the move? Should I ditch this guy for a different insurance-based doctor? Or should I go private and let them bleed me dry for every single test, exam, and ultrasound? Or do I just stick with this new guy and trust him, like every clueless patient is supposed to do?
Anyway, I’d appreciate any input you guys have. Also, does anyone know if there's some kind of on-call OB-GYN in America who'll actually give advice over the phone? I get that you can't do much via phone, but just a few pointers would seriously help me out here.🙏
With this way of taking them, I’m basically getting a break for maybe 2 or 3 days tops... Something just feels off here😕
A few years back, I was on Cilest strictly for birth control. I didn't have PCOS back then, and I NEVER dealt with breakthrough bleeding—I always had a nice, regular 7-day break. So this whole crazy situation is really throwing me for a loop.
Just speaking as a total amateur... listening to my body and all that... it feels like these Diane 35 pills are just too heavy for me. I actually dug up an old box of Cilest (because I'm a hoarder, clearly😬 and get this!! Look at the ingredients for Diane35 versus Cilest—the difference in mg for the cyproterone acetate (the anti-androgen part) is freaking night and day.😲
What other therapies besides Diane-35 can be used for PCOS?? Is Cilest an option?? Because if it is, I'd honestly rather switch to that since I never had side effects with it, unlike with Diane.
When my OBGYN and I were talking about treatment, he was dead set on Diane-35 (without even explaining why), while I was being super skeptical because I've read so many horror stories about Diane-35.
Can you or anyone else make sense of all this for me?🙏
So basically... I didn't even have a period, according to my OBGYN. Apparently, there's "no ovulation due to PCOS." He prescribed me Diane 35. I’m finishing this first round of treatment, and on the 22nd day, I went in for an ultrasound to check my uterine lining (it's clearly thickened now—10mm, whereas before the treatment it was sitting steady at 5mm, or what my doctor calls being in the "resting phase") and to check some cysts, about 5cm on each ovary. He told me I’d bleed "by Saturday." And sure enough, it happened! But here's the thing... he tells me that for the next pack, specifically the first pill out of the 21, I need to start it on the very first day of my period... which makes sense to me, so I immediately ask him if I should take that "first" 7-day break after those 21 days like the instructions actually say. He goes, "Absolutely not!!" "You always start the first pill with the first day of your period... otherwise, we haven't accomplished anything." And that's where he and I started clashing... I'm being persistent because the instructions clearly state you take a 7-day break..., but he's just stubborn and insists there's no break, and we just went back and forth like that forever.🙄
Anyway... my period arrived, and I took the first pill (so, month two of treatment). The bleeding only lasted three days.😲 after a few days, I started getting this brownish discharge that lasted about seven days, before finally culminating this afternoon with a massive breakthrough bleed—I'm bleeding everywhere.
Yesterday I called my sister and explained everything to her, telling her not to be lazy and to actually read the instructions, since it says multiple times right there that the 7-day breaks are mandatory.
My sister says she can't get through to the doctor for me, tells me to just show up tomorrow when I can, and suggests my medication is probably "too weak"—meaning I likely need to switch to something stronger.😲
So now... how am I supposed to convince my doctor that I *should* be taking breaks between cycles?? And why did he shorten my break in the first place?? What's the point?? And what could possibly be "stronger"?? Considering I can't stand this kind of hormone therapy at all—from the very start, I've been dealing with nausea, literal vomiting, and depressive moods... which are incredibly hard for me to handle, plus my breasts are so painfully swollen that even wearing a bra is a struggle.
Just an idea that popped into my head...😁 ...why not just grab one used??
There are tons of people who buy a piece of gear and then totally lose interest, so you can find stuff that’s basically brand new or barely even been touched. Honestly, it's a total steal if you play your cards right.👍
Does anyone actually know why Dr. Harni ditched her forum?😢
I dropped a question there months ago and haven't heard back—not from her, not from anyone else for that matter.
Why??🙂
That was seriously the only gin forum where you could get an answer almost instantly. And we’re talking quality answers, too... not just some random junk. 🙏
Maybe she got too famous and it’s freaking her out... you know how it goes, once you get too much exposure, panic sets in and you just pull the plug.
Or maybe she's just bored with it all...
I don't buy the "too busy" excuse either... because that forum has been running for at least two years, if not longer... so that whole story just doesn't hold water for me.
Robert Alvarez said:...I was actually talking about our sarcastic little friend Jane Doe... she loves acting like she’s lost her mind most of the time...
...honestly, if a woman's just pumping herself full of birth control, I don't think she gives a damn about her actual health as long as she gets her kicks...and you can find plenty of other ways to have fun without messing with hormones...
Alright fine.. but give me the actual facts, what are the specific consequences? Is it true they cause cysts and stuff? I'm actually curious about this🙂
