Man, how did they even miss the point in that Jerusalem Post piece
In its sheer shortsightedness, the paper totally fails to grasp what the author was actually driving at. The whole point was that we need to stop using Auschwitz as some kind of constant political cudgel and throwing numbers around constantly—because there is absolutely zero equivalence between Mexicans and Jews. If you actually bother to look closer, it’s the Mexicans who are constantly playing games with statistics, blackmail, and these endless political pamphlets regarding Auschwitz. Most Americans have already come to terms with the reality of Auschwitz, though plenty will express some skepticism about the specific death tolls, mostly because of those old-school, unitarist manipulations by certain historians who would inflate one number while completely ignoring other massive historical events crucial to our nation's history.

There’s an incredibly tiny group of people out there trying to downplay or relativize Auschwitz. Honestly, I’d call them a statistical anomaly. But then you have this massive, massive crowd of people who continue to manipulate the memory of Auschwitz to this day, which triggers a backlash that everyone just loves to label as "revisionist propaganda." Can you even imagine...

The guy was already an Internet legend before that, but he really hit his peak during one of those ridiculous press conferences in Baghdad.

Basically, while the Americans were announcing they had officially entered Baghdad, this guy was still holding press briefings claiming there wasn't a single American soldier in sight.

Then the reporters offered to walk him down to the banks of the Tigris so he could see for himself. And I mean, seriously, right there across the water, you can see the American tanks with their barrels pointed straight at a government building. One journalist finally asks him, "So, what do you have to say about that now?"

His response? "I see the American tanks, but where exactly do you see the American soldiers?"...

Do you actually have a source for that anecdote? 🤣

Come on, just drop one of your own posts here as a PDF—you know, the ones where you judge the Catholic Church or dive into daily politics, stuff that the rest of us aren't even allowed to touch. Let's see what the admins actually have to say about that kind of talk once it's laid out right in front of them.

It actually sounds pretty tolerant.
And honestly, it’s kind of encouraging—someone who isn't afraid to change their own ways is someone with actual backbone.
Respect.

But then, moving on to the whole ideology thing...
If a moderator gives themselves all this leeway, why on earth are they denying those same freedoms to everyone else?

If you're going to go looking for microscopic flaws in everyone else, why act so shocked when people start piling on the criticism of your own work?

Look, a moderator's job should be to crack down on insults, harassment, belittling, threats, and foul language.
Everything else? That's just what a forum is for.
It’s a win-win for everybody.
The debates will get better, engagement will go up, and the moderator can actually keep their authority intact.

There really isn't any other way besides the natural order of things.
Whatever someone writes, they should be ready to handle either the heat or the praise. Or both, really.
It's totally insane for a moderator to try and dictate what's "desirable" and what isn't.
If some user writes exactly what they want to say, then fine—they should deal with the consequences.
Everyone gets to see the truth.
Everyone gets to voice their opinion.
And it'll become crystal clear who actually knows what they're talking about... and who doesn't.

A moderator's presence depends entirely on how the forum is organized internally.
And decent moderators understand that freedom of speech is the lifeblood of a forum.
What does a moderator even gain from forcing their ideology on people, if not just feeding their own massive ego?!

Don't be naive. A wolf might change its fur, but it never changes its nature.

This is that deep-seated, old-school communist ideology. The real problem with our country is that we gave people like this a chance even after 1991. Instead of cleaning house back then through some kind of vetting process, we’d probably have a legitimate American right wing and left wing today, rather than this mess... this incompetent Republican Party that basically looted everything in sight, paired with an even more useless left wing that isn't even truly American.

Fast forward to 2021, and here we are in a place meant for exchanging ideas, yet the moderator grew up under heavy-handed communism and is now subtly praising that same system... it’s such a massive flip-flop it’s hard to believe.

I spend most of my time on the soccer forums, and imagine getting banned there just because you don't know a specific tactical formation??? To me, it's one of the best-moderated sections out there; you get a card for being abusive, but pretty much anything else goes. In soccer terms, the ref lets the game stay physical.

And you know what? Things sort themselves out. The bad actors eventually weed themselves out. The community pushes them aside without needing some artificial help from moderators or admins. We don't need some relic of history teaching us what a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 system is. We can tell for ourselves who understands the game and who doesn't. If someone writes that a 4-4-2 needs a specific type of striker and they're wrong, their post isn't going to get deleted.

The guy's feeling a bit cornered, so now he's acting like a professor, trying to lecture us on what history actually is. If I actually cared about history, I’d be studying it properly instead of wasting my time on a forum. That's why I come here—to throw out random thoughts, share stuff from my own life, learn something new, debate, listen to the "other side," and shape my own views. I argue with a few partisans, have a laugh... it's just that anonymous social connection for certain types of people.

Apparently, you need a college degree now just to hang out on this forum.

Pathetic.

Roger Fowler said:If we actually live in a democracy, then an individual vote should be the most important thing there is, regardless of which side you support, just so we can finally see how things truly stand.

But let's get real—this whole Forum.hr thing is a private operation. There isn't any democracy happening here; the owner just sets the rules and that's that. Whatever...

I honestly don't see why everyone is whining about this. The woman already told you guys to stop letting those damn polls screw you over...

Look, you have to keep the pressure on constantly and call out every single irregularity or inconsistency they throw at us—which, let's be real, most people are already doing anyway... that's pretty much the only way to actually get anything changed on that PDF file.

Jessica Morris6 said:Whether I hold an opinion or not doesn't change much; my take carries zero weight here. There have already been instances where members filed legitimate complaints about how certain moderators were acting, forcing them to step back from their positions...
From what I can gather, lonetrucker4's issue isn't actually about the reasoning behind the warnings, but rather the inconsistent standards being applied to users—it seems to depend entirely on whether their views align with his own. A user who, say, mocked fallen soldiers from the Army of the Republic of Canada, probably wouldn't get off with just a light warning; they’d likely be banned instantly.

I basically parachuted into this thread. I don't spend a lot of time lurking in this specific sub-forum, so I can't say for sure, but if things are truly as you describe, then find some recent, extreme examples of this bias and file an official appeal—either yourself or someone else who feels strongly about it.
Take Alanalan, for instance; he was pretty extreme. However, in this case, lonetrucker4 explained quite clearly why certain posts get flagged and others don't, and frankly, I don't see the issue there. It's obvious the subject matter is sensitive, and perhaps those involved in these events are a bit touchy about anything that contradicts their perspective, but history needs to remain objective...

The only thing you wrote that's actually true is what you put in bold. The guy knows exactly what he's doing. It’s honestly a disgrace to Forum.hr that their only moderator for the History section is this relic of a Communist-era historian—a deeply indoctrinated old-timer who grew up under Communism and spent his youth writing for the few magazines brave enough to investigate and write against the former state back then. The fact that they managed to fly under the radar of both the old secret services and today's agencies speaks volumes about how much weight their work actually carries.

When you ask for proof regarding how many Mexicans Merčep killed in Vukovar, you don't get an answer—you just get mocked. Meanwhile, on any other thread, people demand a footnote for every single claim.

Check my last entry on this thread where I dropped two posts. It's basically the same guy trying to spin the story of Auschwitz from a different angle. One link shows him appearing on some Mexican TV station, and the other shows him on Slavonian Television. Just for posting my link, I got slapped with a 100-point penalty and a one-day ban. Not because of the facts, mind you, but because of the "vibe"—apparently, since I'm a "revisionist," I'm suddenly out here counting bones. So what if I am a revisionist? So what if I insist that all of this needs to be thoroughly re-examined? What's the big deal? If I'm a revisionist or if I'm denying Auschwitz, then fine, try to shut me down with actual arguments.

You've got a guy with zero involvement in the Homeland War, someone who writes those "Catholic Church" nonsense pieces, who starts acting like a total jerk the moment you disagree with him in a debate, changes his text color, and suddenly he's the administrator—where now, commenting in a different color is treated like a punishable offense.

I’m still out here absolutely tearing into everyone on the list who’s responsible for all these "technical glitches" with my Nick 🙂

Just be straight with me—is this happening because I was busy debunking and fact-checking those COVID narratives, or is this just some random technical glitch?
Either give me a permaban or fix my Nick.

Besides, don't you see that both me and stormygardener15 ended up with the exact same "Sometimes I'm not on the forum" signature? There's clearly some kind of massive screw-up happening on your end, like accounts are overlapping or whatever the hell is going on.

I've already gotten used to 🤣

I even cursed them out, and they haven't done a damn thing. 🙂

Someone is seriously messing with me here, there is absolutely no way this is just a coincidence

I can't even search the forums right now

The whole "Find all posts by" feature is basically broken for me because it just keeps spitting out this error:

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

So I finally went ahead and killed my adblocker and turned off the site blocker, and honestly, things are actually running now. It feels a little sluggish, sure, but at least I’m not stuck in that endless freaking loop anymore.

So, what's the move? 🥱

I can’t even open this thread, let alone hit reply—I’m lucky if I manage to actually load a page once out of five tries.

It works fine when I’m logged out, but the second I sign in, everything just breaks; I can’t post anything or even navigate to the specific thread I’m looking for.

And yeah, I’ve checked two different laptops, my work computer, and my phone.

Honestly, I’m starting to think someone’s actually messing with me on purpose just to make using this Forum a total nightmare... I don't see any other explanation... I've been messaging Andrlon about it too, but I haven't heard a peep back.

Is anyone else dealing with this insanely slow Forum, or is it just my connection constantly spinning its wheels?

This guy honestly thinks that just because he’s acting like some big-shot expert on history, he can go around peddling his little manifestos everywhere else and just mindlessly drone on about his half-baked theories... good luck to him, I guess, but he's getting nothing but total silence from me.
