Susan Martin4 said:I was reading another thread where they mentioned FOX reported about 2,000 infected students. Does that mean we're looking at nearly half of all active cases?
Well, the New York Times covered this bit, and honestly, most people on the forums were calling them out for just pushing pure propaganda🙏
Among the newly infected, we're seeing a significant spike in the 10 to 19 age bracket. Their share of the new infections is actually the highest, sitting at about 22%.
Since the school year kicked off, the number of COVID-positive students aged 7 to 14 stands at 1,065, while those between 15 and 18 account for 866.
So, if you look at the numbers since school started—which is only about ten days ago—that brings us to 1,931 positive student cases.
As far as I can tell, we're looking at roughly seven and a half thousand active cases nationwide at the moment.
Honestly, it’s just wild to see about fifteen of these intensely concerned parents camped out in front of the elementary school for a week straight, practically from sunrise until high noon.
We'll have to see how things play out next week once they start rotating through afternoon shifts.
But really, if you stop to think about it, it’s quite fascinating—it’s truly something else how fifteen grown adults can spend an entire week, day after day, standing right outside a school during peak working hours. I mean, maybe they all collectively decided to burn through their entire stash of vacation days just for this one little moment.😁
It wouldn't even be legal if a higher authority—say, a federal statute or a major piece of legislation—explicitly stated: "In the United States, children and minors are strictly prohibited from wearing face masks." But since that isn't the case, we don't have that problem.
Does it click for you now why these specific sub-regulations actually align so neatly with the overarching laws?
Honestly, it feels like you don't even grasp the most fundamental legal concepts. I mean, really, we’re sitting here having this conversation, and it becomes increasingly apparent that the basic tenets of the law are just flying right over your head. It’s a bit exhausting, if I'm being completely honest.
You have to respect the US Constitution, the federal laws, and all those various administrative regulations just as much as one another. It’s an even playing field, really. That is simply how the legal system functions here in America.

Breaking the law and stripping away human rights isn't a joke.
There is no law on the books that can stop a kid from walking into an elementary school without a mask. That means laws are being broken and children's rights to an education are being violated.
This isn't comedy, friend. It's a gateway to dictatorship.
Let's clear the air here for a second, because it seems like some people around here haven't even cracked a textbook on basic legal principles.
You have the government directive right here:
which explicitly states that classes must be conducted according to these specific guidelines:
So, damn it, there actually *is* a regulation in place requiring kids to wear masks in schools.
Principals of Elementary and High Schools are required to organize the operations of their institutions in accordance with the Models and recommendations outlined in paragraph 1 of this section, ensuring that instruction proceeds without interruption.
The Department of Education, working hand-in-hand with the CDC, is the one rolling out all these educational mandates. So, if anyone has an issue with how things are being handled, those are the institutions you should be looking at. Schools aren't making these calls on their own; they’re simply implementing decisions handed down from higher authorities, which they are legally obligated to follow.
Tyler Ruiz502 said:Kids wear them in stores. Seven hours a day.
It’s not just the hallways, either. Honestly, it depends entirely on which school you're looking at.
They end up filthy—probably taken off ten times a day. They’re shoved everywhere—in bags, stuffed in pockets... just useless, grime-covered scraps of fabric.
And we're talking about the one school where the parents are actually staging protests and making a huge scene. In that particular place, the kids aren't even wearing them in class; they only have them on in the hallway for that brief minute between walking through the front doors and getting to their desks.
Let’s just recap the reality of this situation: you see kids wearing masks longer while they're grabbing snacks at the local 7-Eleven or wandering through the aisles of a Target than you ever see them wearing them in the school hallways.
They don't have to, you're just making things up as you go. If everyone in the room has their COVID-19 documentation ready to go, there's absolutely no need for them to be wearing masks.
They’re sticking to the script. It was established ages ago that you could ditch the masks in indoor spaces provided everyone could produce a valid COVID-19 vaccination record. Honestly, even the coaching staff demonstrated that quite publicly once upon a time.
And when it comes to kids sitting in classrooms, there's no need for masks as long as they can maintain that one-and-a-half-meter buffer between desks.
So, really, I have to ask—what kind of "violation of measures" are you even talking about here?
"A literal mob stormed right into the school; the administrative assistant was desperately trying to hold them back, the kids were scrambled toward the side exits, and the police? They just stood there watching," one staff member recounted, describing the whole traumatic mess.
As some folks on Reddit might put it, this is just business as usual in a local elementary school. It’s become the standard operating procedure, something that apparently happens every single day now. Yep.

I’m looking at this from a standard, civic-minded, decent, civilized perspective.
In 2021, living in a modern American society, it is just fundamentally inappropriate for grown adults to be storming into schools to fight over various rights. It’s a complete misfire—they're hitting the wrong target entirely—and what’s even more egregious is the sheer amount of stress and anxiety they inflict on the children, who are forced to witness all this shouting and aggressive posturing right there in their own hallways.
We have ministries, we have the federal government, we have the CDC, and plenty of other institutions specifically designed for fighting for values and policy changes.
But no, instead, people choose to show up at a school entrance and block the doors so kids can't even get inside. It’s absolutely appalling in my civilized world. Perhaps in some backwater, primitive village, this kind of behavior would be considered normal, but not here.
Exactly. You just don't see this kind of chaos happening in our schools. At least in my own experience living here in the States, I’ve never once witnessed—nor even heard a whisper of—some group of ten adults just wandering into a school building without authorization. In a properly functioning system, everyone knows exactly who is allowed on campus and when they’re permitted to step foot inside the halls.
Linda Lee4 said:Why don't you try explaining to us how a principal can just decide whether or not to enforce mask mandates in the hallways, or how some schools simply chose not to implement them at all without facing any penalties or seeing their leadership replaced... What does any of that actually have to do with epidemiological measures?
Wobbie and the rest of them are actual scientists, which stands in stark contrast to your worthless, quasi-logical arguments that are bordering on pure trolling.
If life is hitting you that hard since you've lost all your income and aren't allowed to work, we could always set up a GoFundMe campaign to bring back the old Profitera. Even though I'm stuck in the same boat as you, I'll be the first to chip in, because unlike you, I actually value my own integrity, even when things get difficult... ☕
It is truly staggering how far some of you have gone; I'm sitting here watching this footage of people storming into a school, completely disregarding the campus rules and the federal mandate requiring adults to wear masks while inside.
Poor kids are just standing there by the entrance, unable to even get into their own school because of these ten scientists.🤦 🤦
Anyone who actually supports this isn't living in reality. This kind of harassment toward children is something we haven't seen in this country before. At least, I don't recall a time when a mob would just break into schools in America.
So, first it was the doctors, then the infectious disease specialists from the major hospitals, and now we’ve moved on to targeting the hospital directors themselves. It feels like we’ve spiraled into this intense, almost militant radicalism in how people are forming their opinions. I mean, seriously, after exhausting the list of politicians, epidemiologists, virologists, physicians, nurses, journalists, even the cleaning staff—now even the administrators are being pulled into this supposed "agenda"...
Who’s next on the hit list? The local cashier at the bakery? Some waitress working a shift at a diner?
A little girl started feeling sick at school, and she was practically begging for someone—anyone—to go out and find her mom because she was terrified of the protesters outside. "It’s an uncomfortable situation, but we are doing our absolute best to handle it," said the principal, Samson Štibohar.
When they arrived at the school, those protesters were actually pulling on kids' sleeves, telling them they shouldn't be wearing masks.
It is just absolutely surreal that this kind of thing is happening in a country like America. I honestly thought people here were civilized enough to realize that staging these kinds of unhinged protests right at schools and on school grounds is crossing a line. It blows my mind that there isn't more outrage over this back home. This is completely unacceptable. Harassing children under the guise of "divine laws" and claiming masks are "carcinogenic"? I truly cannot wrap my head around how any sane person could support this madness.
It’s honestly exhausting reading this, but apparently, the mother of this kid has gone on record claiming that masks are nothing more, nothing less, than carcinogenic.
And then you have the father, who’s out there bringing up divine laws as if we haven't heard that particular sermon a thousand times before. 😁
If people still can't wrap their heads around what's actually happening here, then frankly, I don't think anyone can help them.
I've been trying to have a serious sit-down with his parents, basically pleading with them—considering all 307 other students are dutifully wearing masks in the hallways—that this 308th student should probably do the same while navigating the halls. "I should point out that he was perfectly fine wearing a mask all through last year, and that included during actual class time, not just when walking through the corridors," Governor kolar told Yahoo.
"The kids at this school don't need to wear masks during lessons because there’s plenty of social distancing in place. So, technically, that student only needs to bother with a mask for about thirty seconds until they step into the classroom," kolar remarked.
As I've mentioned before regarding the kids, wearing a mask isn't some massive burden for them, nor does it get in their way. And clearly, it wasn't an issue for this particular child throughout the entire previous school year either...
