Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
The latest word is that isolation periods for those asymptomatic cases or folks just dealing with mild symptoms have been slashed down to seven days—provided, of course, you’ve actually cleared the illness or have been vaccinated, and there won't be any arbitrary expiration date on that status.
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
Good grief, they’ve gone and made this so unnecessarily convoluted that I suspect 99% of our family doctors won't even be able to make heads or tails of it.

Let me see if I can untangle this mess for everyone.

1. For those who test positive for COVID: you get a 7-day isolation period—assuming you were asymptomatic, or had mild to moderate symptoms—if:
1. the infection occurs within 4 months of receiving the second dose (or within 2 months if you received the Johnson & Johnson shot),
2. you have already completed a 3-dose series (or 2 doses if using Johnson & Johnson),
3. you recently recovered from the virus within the last 4 months,
4. or if you've been vaccinated twice after having already recovered once (which includes being vaccinated once with Johnson & Johnson).

Everyone else who tests positive is stuck with the standard 10-day isolation.

2. As for those who were in contact with someone positive: the following people are exempt from mandatory self-isolation:
1. anyone who has recovered from the virus within the last 4 months,
2. those who have both recovered and been vaccinated with 2 doses (or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson),
3. those fully vaccinated with 3 doses (or 2 doses of Johnson & Johnson),
4. or those who received 2 doses (or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson) within the last 4 months.
These individuals just need to get tested immediately upon finding out they were exposed, and then again 5 to 7 days after the initial contact.

However, a 7-day isolation period still applies to:
1. those whose recovery was more than 4 months ago,
2. those who were vaccinated with 2 doses (or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson) more than 4 months ago.

For everyone else, it's back to the 10-day isolation rule.
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
Basically, you’re stuck in isolation until the very end of January 7th, right around midnight.

The rule is a full ten-day quarantine starting from whenever those first symptoms show up, which means you can finally breathe fresh air again on the 11th day.

So, if you follow that math, you’ll be officially cleared to step foot outside starting at the stroke of midnight on January 8th.
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
I know I’m probably shouting this into the void for the hundredth time, but here we go again, just in case anyone missed the previous dozen iterations.

If you actually start feeling under the weather—let's say those first symptoms hit you—that’s Day Zero. Your official isolation period begins the very next day, which becomes Day One. You’re looking at a full 10 days of staying tucked away, meaning you can finally step foot outside on the 11th day. For instance, if you start feeling symptomatic on November 6th, then November 7th is your first official day of isolation, leading up to the end of your tenth day on November 16th; that means you can head out the door at 12:01 AM on November 17th.

Now, if you aren't showing any symptoms but you still need to isolate—say, because of some exposure or whatever—you're looking at a 10-day quarantine starting from the day you get tested. You can emerge on the 11th day. To put it plainly: if you take the test on November 6th, your last day of isolation is November 16th, so you’re free to rejoin society at 12:01 AM on November 17th.
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
According to the current guidelines, once you've received that second dose, you’re officially cleared from self-isolation—provided, of course, that you aren't actually feeling under the weather with any symptoms.
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
Look, if you’re actually feeling under the weather and showing symptoms, you have to consider the day those symptoms first hit as your "day zero." From there, the clock starts ticking, meaning the very next day marks the beginning of your isolation period, and you’d finally be cleared to step back out into the world on day eleven.

Now, if you aren't feeling any symptoms at all, the math changes slightly—in that scenario, your "day zero" is simply the day you take the test.

Based on how things shake out for your specific situation, you should be looking at November 8th as the day you can wrap up your isolation.

jadetinker85 said:Why use an October chart when they’re clearly at the end of a wave now? Use the data from August 9, 2021, like I asked.

Or maybe I should just post it myself?

Honestly, why the blatant fabrication? Look, for heaven's sake, this graph covers the entire pandemic period from the very start: https://i.ibb.co/pRM1zt9/iiii-Untitled.png

It’s perfectly clear if you actually bother to look—at no point in the last eight months has the death toll even touched 60, and we never saw 100 deaths, not even before the vaccinations rolled out. So, I have to ask, why the dishonesty?

Why are you just making things up and peddling these absolute fabrications regarding the death toll in Israel?

And why the outright lies about zero tuberculosis deaths?
2021/2022 School Year in Coronavirus ·
jadetinker85 said:Right. Back to those "brilliant" conclusions again. So, the logic goes: if high vaccination—say 70 or 80%—hits herd immunity, then COVID deaths should be zero, just like polio or TB.

🍿

No. Even with 90% coverage, we wouldn't be looking at 22,291 infections, nor would there be 56 deaths like what happened in Israel back in September 2001.

I honestly can’t wrap my head around how much longer you intend to peddle these falsehoods on this forum, or how much longer the moderators are going to sit idly by while you churn out these absolute fabrications.

https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-s...l/tuberculosis

In 2020 alone, a total of 1.5 million people lost their lives to TB (that includes 214,000 individuals living with HIV). On a Global scale, TB remains the 13th leading cause of death and stands as the second most significant infectious killer, trailing only behind COVID-19 (surpassing even HIV/AIDS).

jadetinker85 said:Hmm, look at Israel. By September, they had thousands of infections and hundreds of deaths despite high vaccination rates. Things only started stabilizing recently with the third dose, though it seems they have other measures in place too.

How many vaccinated deaths are "acceptable" to me? Not a single one. It's like traveling to a region where malaria is rampant. You get the shot... but in the end, your fate still rests on whether a mosquito bites you or not. So why bother with the vaccine at all?

How much longer are we going to tolerate these absolutely deranged, fabricated conspiracy theories that anyone could debunk with literally ten seconds of Googling?

Are you intentionally spreading these blatant falsehoods about hundreds of people dying daily in Israel, or what?

I am sick to death of these lies.🤮

Look, I’ll say it again just to be absolutely clear: there isn't a single shred of evidence anywhere—not in the official bulletins or the fine print—that mentions extending remote learning, unless you count those two ladies making noise about it.
2021/2022 School Year in Coronavirus ·
That’s just not what it says at all.

It actually says this:
The Los Angeles Unified School District has confirmed to the city administration that they will follow the directive issued at the federal level, which means all students will shift to remote learning for two days. However, should there be an extension to this period of online instruction beyond November 8th, Washington, D.C. has prepared a contingency plan.
- In the event that there is a necessity to extend remote learning into the week of November 8th, schools will likely welcome back the younger students—those in grades one through four—while the older kids will continue their studies online, according to officials from the city.

Nobody actually knows yet if there will even be an extension or not; this text is merely outlining what NYC plans to do IF the federal government decides to prolong the remote learning mandate...

Just thought I’d give the community and the mods a little look at how soks behaves when he gets caught red-handed in a blatant lie:

image

Basically, instead of having even an ounce of integrity and just owning up to his mistake, he decides to pull the most shameless move possible—editing his own post to pretend he never said it in the first place. Luckily enough, I managed to quote him before he could scrub the evidence, so you can see the sheer audacity of the deception right here; then, to make matters even more pathetic, he tries to delete the specific parts of the quote where he’s lying, all without offering a single word of apology or showing any actual remorse for being dishonest.

It’s honestly hard to wrap my head around the fact that people like this are even allowed to participate in a forum like this.
I’ve reached a point where I truly feel like there’s nothing left for me to do here if this is the caliber of discourse we're dealing with.

Even though SFOX is out there spinning complete fiction, fabricating daily death tolls in Israel while conveniently ignoring the fact that TBCA claims zero fatalities despite over 1.5 million people dying from it annually, I honestly can't wrap my head around this persistent myth that Israel is some kind of deeply fractured, splintered society😕

If you actually take a moment to look at the hierarchy of the most divided nations on the planet and see where Israel sits on that list, it’s quite telling:

Let’s go over this for the fourth time now, shall we? Why on earth would you insist on fabricating those numbers regarding the hundreds of daily deaths in Israel when it’s nothing more than a complete work of fiction?

jadetinker85 said:Look, I'm asking nicely—just post the image from September 8, 2021.

Is that really too much to ask? 🍿

Honestly, man, are you actually kidding me right now? Are you just straight-up mocking common sense?

On this very graph right here, you can see September 8, 2021, along with every single other date since the pandemic kicked off.

Don't try to pull this nonsense on me by pretending you don't know how to read a basic chart. 🤦🤦🤦🤦
2021/2022 School Year in Coronavirus ·
Let me just circle back for a second here—why on earth did you decide to fabricate those numbers and claim tuberculosis deaths were at zero, when we all know there were over 1.5 million people lost to that disease just last year alone?

And while we're being honest, why would you sit there and lie about Israel having a death toll of a hundred people a day, considering they’ve never seen numbers anywhere near that magnitude, especially not since 65% of the population was vaccinated?

Does it honestly not bother you even the slightest bit, the sheer act of lying like that?

The voters haven't changed either.

The membership base is just as it was.

Yet, Plenković's rhetoric regarding the untarnished reputation of the Republican Party still seems to find an easy audience. I guess we simply don't deserve anything better.

But if you actually bother to look at the data, there is one glaring difference.

Back in 2007, the Republican Party pulled in 907,724 votes.

Fast forward to 2020, and they only managed to grab 621,035.

That is a drop of 286,000 votes.

A staggering 32% decline.

Well, it looks like the goalposts have moved yet again regarding those self-isolation rules (they’ve shortened the stint back down to ten days once more):

- For anyone who finds themselves in close contact with an infected individual, the quarantine period is being trimmed down to just ten days.
- Additionally, they are extending the exemption from testing for those who have already recovered from COVID-19 or are fully vaccinated—provided, of course, they aren't showing any symptoms and haven't been exposed to someone contagious—for a full twelve months.
2021/2022 School Year in Coronavirus ·
Susan Martin4 said:How much sick leave am I actually entitled to from the state if I've already recovered, but it’s still been 9 months officially?

Well, if you're talking about self-isolation, strictly speaking, not everyone needs to stay home. If you've had both doses of your vaccine—or even just the single shot if we're talking about Johnson's—you're essentially cleared, provided it’s been at least fourteen days since your last jab but hasn't exceeded the nine-month mark yet. The reason they pushed this window out is because, for all intents and purposes, the vaccine was holding its own for about seven months up until now.

Then there's the second group, which includes people who caught COVID and then went ahead and got their first dose within eight months of recovering. For these folks, they won't be required to quarantine for an additional nine months following that first dose. Of course, there’s a massive caveat here: this doesn't apply to anyone who is immunocompromised or over the age of 65. For them, the rules are different; they really need to get both doses regardless of whether they've already fought off the virus.

Regarding isolation requirements, you don't need to isolate if you've recovered from COVID within the last nine months and can back it up with lab results. These three distinct categories are also going to be reflected in the official COVID certificates. Up until lately, the window was seven months for the vaccinated and six months for those who had recovered.

There's also one more category of people who don't need to isolate. That would be anyone classified as a "probable recovery"—basically, people who displayed all the hallmark symptoms of the illness and were living under the same roof as someone who tested positive. In many cases, doctors didn't even bother sending these patients for testing; they just treated them as having already had it.

So, to put it simply, if you've recovered and then you go and get that first vaccine dose just a day before you hit the eight-month mark post-recovery, you should be safe from having to self-isolate for at least a year and five months.
