Jack Nicholson Giveaway!!! (Oct 25 - 28) in Movies ·
Why am I always the last one to hear about these giveaway contests? Honestly, thank God I finally caught wind of this one—though I have a feeling I’ll probably forget all about it by next week. What a joke.
Can someone please remind me when 👍
starts?
The Tenant (1976) in Movies ·
I'm never going to be into that. Just give me the rundown—what's the actual deal, who's playing, all that? Personally, I'd rather stick with The Tenant ☕

Jerry Martinez6 said:So, just looking for those standout moments—scenes that really trip you out, whether they're positive or just surreal... those powerhouse sequences, the weird ones, the heavy hitters that define a movie or even transcend it entirely...😁or something along those lines.

I'll kick things off with this one; it’s almost impossible to put into words—just a massive, powerful sequence.

P.S. By the way, if this is too much, admins feel free to kill the thread. I think it could be interesting, provided we don't descend into constant spamming of A24 quotes like "and you will know I am the lord..." and other nonsense.😁

Hahaha. Just saw this now. Heh. Apparently, everyone hates that scene from A24, while my friends and I were totally vibing with it. Honestly, Tarantino gets on my nerves.

Hopefully, this doesn't end up in the same pile.

Matthew Anderson4 said:That "have you seen it" comment was just a joke—all because of Powerbeat Fassbender. 😁

Fassbender is truly top-tier—that Bale-ovski role was something else, wasn't it? 🙏 For me, the standout moment during that whole conversation was that one continuous shot of the hallway—you know, the one where they were just letting it flow? Makes you wonder if the guard actually had to buy it himself. 🙏

Well, damn. My brain is running about as fast as a snail today—I was planning to be productive this morning, but after scraping by on only three hours of sleep last night, I’m basically a zombie. Not exactly feeling much sunshine or smiles right now.😁Mainly regarding that dream sequence—the one involving the river—and the whole business with the urine. Re-read my previous post. Pišoka equals urine, plain and simple.
So, everyone’s little accidents have somehow morphed into snakes crawling down the hallway—how charming. What kind of twisted naturalism are we dealing with here?😁

So, you’re probably comparing him to Baleon because of The Machinist—is that it? Personally, I find Fass much better. Besides, he’s not exactly my cup of tea. The Machinist..

Matthew Anderson4 said:Did you actually watch the movie? 😁
The dialogue goes on for about 22 minutes—if I'm counting right—while the actual uninterrupted shot lasts a full 17 minutes.🙏

Well, Google is always there to correct us, isn't it? 👍My bad—I just guessed 10 minutes from memory; I wasn't actually timing it.

Of course I've seen the film. It's out. Honestly, I watched it because of Michael Fassbender—he’s easily one of the best actors working today. As for that scene... yeah, I messed up. I knew it was long, but I didn't realize how much. Don't worry, though—I'm not one of those people who critiques a movie without actually sitting through it.

That whole sequence is a complete trip—that brutal part with the baton and someone's butt, plus the improvised urinals? 🤮 Still sticks with me. But I guess you can't experience all that through YouTube.

Speaking of Darren Aronofsky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxyP_...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx7Tr...ure=relatedThe The Fountain; personally, the whole movie was quite a trip—pure emotion—and the soundtrack fit perfectly, too.

Thanks. And honestly, it’s hard not to get tired of everything. As for The Fountain—visually stunning, sure, but I wouldn't call it great. It's a weaker Aronofsky entry.
And where is that scene from A Clockwork Orange—you know, when he uses that porcelain object to kill the old lady? The Raskolnikov routine, just swap the axe for a... well, you know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_vrLGXUMGQ

Can we all agree this one is a trip too? Just ten minutes of footage captured at once—kudos to Michael Fassbender.Canada —Steve McQueen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq0SETWIO8U

Then there's the intense stuff from John Carpenter. Take The Fog—when that mist starts rolling in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8nRD...eature=related

Prince of Darkness. Not this one below—one doesn't even forget this one, especially when Satan shows up or Alice Cooper appears with a dead bird.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGsv0...eature=related

And this one... haha.Ravenous—easily one of the coolest things I've ever watched, and that music—Duelling Banjos—is perfect.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDZ1YWtbrro — Darren Aronofsky

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHX4JLcAq5M — Eyes Wide Shut (Kubrick) — honestly, the ice scene was a mess—and that grating music by whoever that singer was? Forget it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsKX5...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADCw0...ext=1&index=28 — now these letters...

There’s also that one courtyard scene; the film Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom — I can't seem to find it on YouTube, though I'm certain I've seen it before.

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3jbJOCl3Hs
Honestly, we need a badge like this—something displayed prominently so everyone knows exactly what kind of cinephile they're dealing with. And these would be the picks:

1. Triumph of the Will (1935)
2. Romper Stomper (1992)
3. American History X (1998)
4. 4. This Is England (2006)
5. The Believer (2001)

Unforgettable movie torture scenes in Movies ·
That "mao mao" scene from Reservoir Dogs—basically a Russian roulette setup.

And here are a few more for the list:

Old Boy—you know, the hammer versus teeth bit.
James Bond Casino Royale—the rope situation.
Gurotesuk—the whole thing with the peas and... well, you get it.
Passion—the crushing and crucifixion stuff.
Cannibal Holocaust—that messy business on the beach.
The Last House on the Left
American History X
Martyrs
Calvaire
Nika Daruma
Hunger
Pusher
—electrodes on the chest.
The Girl Next Door—the lamp versus... well, the anatomy.
The Bone Collector—that part involving the rats.
Interview with the Vampire—where they leave those vampires buried alive for eternity.
Mexican film—less is more, I suppose.

There's also this one movie I can't quite name—something about a guy who puts glass shards in a tin can, then on his stomach, and heats it up? Then the glass pierces through in a panic. Or was it that they threatened to do that to him? Just one of those setups.

Just left the Metallica show at that Route 666 spot. It’s a tiny little dive bar—hardly more than a hole in the wall—but it actually isn't bad. They even carry some local craft brews. The only issue? They’d probably turn me away just for looking this disheveled. Oh, and Davorin Popovic was there too. 🤦
The Magical Negro trope in Movies ·
Honestly, it feels like African Americans can be some of the biggest racists—take Snoop Dogg, for instance. And as for the most racist series ever? It’s definitely Under the True Cross—whenever a Black character shows up, they’re either incredibly dim-witted or just straight-up garbage.

True. Even the new Alfred in Batman fits the Magical Negro trope perfectly.

Sure, if you say so. I guess Bare Nielsen is the only one holding that particular opinion—haha. Is that an intentional follow-up after you checked out my post #149 in this thread Or was it just a coincidence? Right on cue, I suppose.

I mean, Morgan Freeman seems to be the smartest guy in every single movie—7even, The Shawshank Redemption.... total bucket case.... and so on.

He knows everything there is to know about life—he’s just incredibly wise.

I am the Walrus - The Beatles

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
Watch them scatter like swine fleeing a gunshot—look at them fly.
I'm Cry.

Just sitting on a park bench, waiting for the bus.
Wearing Nike, stuck in this mindless Tuesday.
You've been a bad kid—letting your hair grow too long.
I'm eating eggs, they're eating eggs, I'm John Lennon,
Goo goo ga joob.

Officer Friendly is just sitting there,
With The Supremes lined up in a row.
Look at them soar through the Sky like a jet—see how they fly.
I'm Cry.
I'm Cry, I'm Cry, I'm Cry.

Yellow custard, oozing from a massive black pot.
A Fisherman with his fishwife,
You've been a naughty boy—you let your face get filthy.
I'm eating eggs (woo), they're eating eggs (woo), I am John Lennon,
Goo goo ga joob.

Sitting in an English garden waiting for The Sun.
If the sun doesn't show, you're left soaked,
Sitting in The English Rain.
I'm eating eggs, they're eating eggs, I am John Lennon,
goo goo gajoob ga goo goo gajoob.

Pro singers, chain-smoking amateurs.
Doesn't it feel like the joker is laughing at you? (ho ho ho, he he he, ha ha ha)
See how they snort like pigs in a pen—see how they sneer.
I'm Cry.

Eleanor Rigby, trekking up the stairs.
Professional vocalists chanting Hare Krishna.
Honestly, you should have seen them reading Edgar Allan Poe.
I'm eating eggs, they're eating eggs, I am John Lennon,
Goo goo gajoob ga goo goo ga joob
(everybody ho ha everybody ho ha!)

White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that Mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
White Rabbit
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
White Rabbit
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head
Feed your head
Feed your head"

These two are the best. Or maybe they're just well disguised.

Daniel Chavez66 said:That old thing from the nineties, I think it was called "No Drugs." They used to air it on ABC around midnight.
It goes something like this:
No drugs, whatever they want
No joints, no weed
Healthy living is the new trend
A drug-free life—that's the point

And it just loops like that for five minutes. Truly harrowing.
If that wasn't composed under the influence of heroin mixed with coke, speed, and ecstasy, then I really don't know what was.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Totally forgot about that one...
What a brainless little song. Some idiot singing alongside some breakdancer. Hahaha.
Greatest hits ever. Though, honestly, it probably wasn't inspired by drugs, but rather by the influence of some hippie commune leader!

How did no one think of that? 😉

My mistake—I didn't finish reading the title... I thought we were looking for songs *about* the topic, not just tracks made under its influence...

Though, maybe this one was influenced by drugs too...

But since we missed it—I'm the one who put it there. Check post #39.
