So, kid's in elementary school, feeling pretty terrible, having a rough time, but still drags himself to class.
Parents are hovering constantly—he’s an only child, so they're understandably overprotective.

Anyway, one rainy evening he starts coughing, so obviously, they grab some home tests.
Predictably, it comes back positive, and then the late-night calls start... the CDC gets involved, and now the whole class is under quarantine.

Supposedly he’ll head to a clinic for a PCR just to be sure what we're dealing with, but until those results drop, everyone stays home.

If this is how they're going to handle things, they might as well just shut down all the schools right now.

Cheers,

Is that how Americans do things? ☕

It's just the usual seasonal bugs going around.

Check out this link, pretty interesting stuff.

– A new virus popped up. For some, it feels just like the flu—intense headaches, body aches, muscle pain. Others are dealing with diarrhea, coughing, or sinus issues. The big thing is to get tested immediately to rule out Covid. You can use an at-home kit, but if that comes back positive, you’ll need a PCR test to confirm it. Your doctor will give you the referral. The main symptom of the Delta variant currently spreading across America and the rest of the world is fever, though fewer people are reporting loss of taste and smell lately, even though it's still a symptom. Delta also brings on headaches, runny noses, sore throats, and loss of appetite, making it look a lot like any other common virus. So, go get tested, because if you have it, you could spread it to a ton of people – according to one epidemiologist.

It seems some people refuse to grasp that this is a virus capable of hitting individuals incredibly hard—even fatal in some cases—and that it spreads with terrifying speed, not to mention the mutations... But by all means, let's just scrap the restrictions and spread it everywhere...

Look, here's the thing: we're dealing with a new strain.

But it's not exactly "new" anymore. We know what we're looking at, and most of us have already run into it.
We know which groups are at risk, we have the tools, and it's basically up to the individual now.

There's no reason to keep calling this a "pandemic" or maintaining these quasi-emergency measures.

Personally, I don't even think this wave is strictly Covid; it could be anything.
My whole family ended up catching some nasty stomach bug/vomiting thing recently.
I managed to dodge it. 😁

If they had actually gone to get tested, who knows what kind of joke of a result they would've gotten.

Bottom line, this whole thing doesn't make sense anymore.

Look, you’re basically living in a fallout shelter for the rest of your life. Not my fault, though—you gotta go embrace nature sometime.

Today's jump isn't because of school—classes have only been back in session for three days, so nobody is actually attributing it to that yet.
At least, not anyone with half a brain.

We all knew these numbers were going to climb weeks ago; the summer season is over, people are getting back from vacations, and testing has ramped up.
Cases go up because viruses thrive in enclosed spaces, when coworkers are huddled together, or when people pack onto public transit... and yeah, that includes schools, unfortunately.

.... Look, the numbers will rise, and it's just a perfect storm of different factors, one of which happens to be the start of the school year...

And I’m not even talking about restrictions right now, or what should or shouldn't happen (just trying to get ahead of the inevitable backlash/questions/comments about that). I'm simply stating the facts. Honestly, I'm sick of it too—I'm fed up with masks and all these rules... but that doesn't change the reality that the virus is clearly here and spreading... and this specific variant is obviously much more contagious. 🤷

Who's even talking about smart people? 🤣

... but that doesn't change the fact that the virus is clearly here and spreading...

Just like a million other things. Honestly, we just need to get back to living life and stop making such a huge deal out of everything. ☕

I can already see the tiny bioterrorists getting blamed for today's growth numbers. 🤦
Total lockdown, everyone's heading straight to the basement until next season. ☕

Last year, the kids didn't even have to deal with masks.

Best,
Comirnaty (made by Pfizer) is currently under the microscope because of myocarditis risks in young adults—something that’s already popped up as a safety signal in the USA and Israel. Until we actually get some solid numbers on how often this happens in kids and teens, it’s tough to say if the benefits really outweigh the risks for healthy 12-year-olds and up. According to a statement from the Mayo Clinic, parents can still choose to vaccinate their healthy kids in that age group, but they should know that official recommendations are being held off until we clear up the data on those myocarditis cases.

CALLING FOR A PAUSE ON KID VACCINATIONS
Parents and doctors are calling out the government after a boy in the USA died following his second dose

A group of doctors sent an "urgent open letter" to Singapore’s vaccination advisory committee, demanding they halt adolescent vaccinations until the American CDC clarifies what caused the death of a teenager right after getting jabbed.

The letter—sent "on behalf of numerous concerned pediatricians, primary care physicians, specialists, surgeons, and GPs" and signed by various medical experts in Singapore—hit Facebook on Saturday. According to RT, the authors are asking officials to "consider a brief delay" in administering mRNA vaccines to minors given this recent tragedy in the USA.

Morgan Peterson said:Precisely. At this point, we aren't even discussing mathematics; we are simply discussing basic logic and reading comprehension.
Is it not true that not every child falls ill from the mumps, yet because a small fraction develops severe complications, we still vaccinate the entire population regardless?

Bottom line? These diseases are nasty for older folks.
That’s why you get the kids vaccinated—to save them the headache later on.
Plus, you get that sweet, lasting immunity out of the deal.

The headline says it all: 15% of kids end up with myocarditis.
If you actually bother reading the details, though, you'll see they just want to keep the herd scared. ☕

Here comes another round of fearmongering to rattle the masses. 🤦

I can't find that one meme where Jerry Maguire gets hit with a bill to pay back the Treasury and ends up broke as a joke.

Turns out that little scrap of paper actually carries some weight.

Let’s be real: none of these COVID-19 vaccines actually have valid approval.
I'm speaking up just to clear the air, but this whole push to vaccinate kids is nothing more than a desperate move by incompetent politicians.

Cheers
Think of this more as a poll about vaccinating kids rather than a debate.
If you want to push theories, go to the other thread. thx

Once the FDA and then Pfizer gave the green light for their vaccine to be used on kids aged 12 to 16, the first round of vaccinations for minors started hitting clinics here in the States

COVID shots for anyone under 16 are officially rolling out. So, what's the verdict: are you getting your kid vaccinated?
