It’s been two days and my request is still just sitting there. Can someone above fadedlynx6 please explain what trolling actually looks like? I honestly think the moderator is right here, but instead of fixing this, everyone is just staying silent... which says everything. I’m not going to sit here and take being bullied or handed warnings while other users on this sub get short bans ten times over (Azure), or deal with clones of banned accounts (Caeruleus)—they clearly haven't faced any "final" warnings. How can that guy even talk to us after all the nonsense and bullshit he's pulled???
I want an explanation for that case too, if possible.
I’m calling for someone higher up the food chain to step in here. I need a ruling on who actually understands the rules regarding trolling and who’s just getting it wrong.
Here’s the post in question:

If that post doesn't count as trolling, then what? Does that mean I can just barge into any car thread I feel like—whether I care about the topic or not—and start throwing out random numbers and fake stats, while the "community" loses their minds trying to prove me wrong?
This is a whole new level of nonsense...😁
fadedlynx6 said:The rest of us don't see any trolling here, just different perspectives. I've already told you that several times, both here and in your DMs.
The whole point of this forum is for people to exchange ideas. By your logic, he could report you for trolling just because you don't agree.

And on top of that, I've already pointed out that when you report posts, you aren't quoting them or actually engaging with them—so if a post deserves a ban, it hits both of you.

Since we've gone over this issue multiple times already (in the mods' chat, via DM...), I'm not going to keep repeating myself every single time.

The friction between you two is obvious. My advice? Just put him on ignore. It’ll make your life easier and save everyone else the headache. That's exactly why the ignore button exists. 😉

He’s already served his "punishment," and if you keep pushing this, you’re going to get a partial ban on the car subforums, because there's clearly no way for you two to coexist here.

That's all from me. I'm done arguing about this since I've already said everything there is to say to you in your inbox.
Think about it.

P.S. - Those links aren't working.
Later

I don't have an issue with anyone except for lies, and that's what I react to. I don't have anyone on my ignore list, and I'm keeping it that way. Sorry about the broken links, maybe this one works:

THIS isn't "expressing an opinion," it's straight-up trolling and lying. If he wanted to express an opinion—saying he feels a car lacks power, for example—he has every right to do that. But this nonsense and throwing random numbers around? That's trolling, plain and simple.

Tyler Richardson4 said:Yeah, the links are dead, but I think I know what's going on and I side with Joseph. If you've got actual proof that it's not like that, I'll be the first one to issue a ban.

I guess the guy in question needs to provide the evidence for these claims/trolling in his own post, rather than me or 90% of the rest of the world.

Danny, props to you for the effort and doing a great job. And congrats on having the patience to deal with a fellow mod who trolls... here's something for a laugh (didn't report it though).

A moderator post and a warning, clear as day, everyone follows the rules... until your colleague shows up and starts "hitting" things. Look at that, another strike against the plastic section again. 🤦

😁

Alan Ford.
Thanks for noticing.
I haven't been hanging around here much lately. I lost interest after hearing the same old canned excuses about "differences of opinion."

Where exactly is the difference of opinion here?
The second someone starts throwing fake numbers around, we're talking about straight-up disinformation and blatant trolling.
To the staff: I’d like an official explanation as to why this obvious lie and trolling hasn't been sanctioned yet?

I filed my report properly and waited for the deadline to pass, all while the moderator was busy messing with other posts. Fine, people trolled him back and mocked him, but his original trolling is still sitting there. He had every chance to explain himself or back up those claims with actual facts, but instead, he just kept going:

Then there's the attempt to talk down to me personally—acting all high and mighty, lecturing me instead of presenting actual arguments or facts. And you guys just let that slide without any penalty, even though it was reported too.
I didn't stoop to his level, even though it's painfully obvious that malizeleni is just dreaming if he thinks he'll ever get those exclusive presentations he's bragging about.

And let's not forget we're dealing with a user who got a permanent ban and then got "pardoned" with a blessing and a statement that is just WRONG

I'm not buying fadedlynx6's excuse that this is just a "difference of opinion." It's not the first time this has happened, and while I let it slide before, I won't anymore. Someone needs to teach this moderator the difference between a debate and pure trolling, because this kind of behavior shouldn't be allowed.

fadedlynx6 said:Is it really that hard to have a constructive conversation without all the insults and constant bickering...???

Everything was fine while you were banned, but the second you come back, it's just hundreds of toxic posts and fighting...

Reporting other users is fine, but it's problematic when you turn around and engage in the same petty arguments right after. I already told you in a DM: don't do that. You can report a post, but you can't jump in and fight back with the same energy—or worse. Get it through your head.

I've already sent you a private message telling you to chill out before you get hit with bans on the automotive section. This nonsense has gone on way too long. If you disagree with someone or if a user is getting on your nerves, just use the ignore button.

This has crossed the line. If we can't keep this discussion civilized, there will be bans starting with you, and they won't stop until this thread is under control.

So make a choice. This is my final warning, and I’m done wasting my breath on pointless arguments with you that lead nowhere.

First of all, you clearly still don't grasp what constitutes an insult. It's obvious right here in http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=6...postcount=3670

It wasn't flagged today, but look at how you responded here:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=60114619&postcount=2

And everything is crystal clear here. You just refuse to see that:
"A ton of Ford Fiesta and Alfa Romeo Fwd drivers from that era—the era Alfa wants to forget ASAP (159, Julia Roberts, Mito??? Hello??)—who probably think they're driving Ferraris and dream about buying a Julia as their ultimate car in 6 to 8 years, assuming they find a pristine one from a single owner if their financial plans and the stars align perfectly.

Hey, if you want to know why Alfa failed, you don't have to look further than Reddit.

"Out of 100% of these fans, 0% are actual potential buyers today..." ...that isn't an opinion on a car. That's a blatant attempt to troll and insult both the users and owners of Italian cars. It's as clear as day.

This pathetic claim that "everything was fine while I was banned" is just your opinion with zero proof. There weren't any troll posts while I was away because nobody reacted; honestly, I think I reported some even while I was banned. We need order around here.

Disagreeing with someone or having a personal grudge isn't a reason for me to ignore them. It's your job to handle the trolling and the insults. I shouldn't have to hunt down trolls while ignoring the vitriol. No way. Let them ignore me instead.
You don't have to engage in arguments you think are pointless. I back up my claims regarding trolling and insults with direct links and black-and-white proof from the forum, while you just type whatever random thought pops into your head in the moment (maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get).
Trolling or not? (Part 2) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Georgia absolutely crushed it in the ring with a 7:32 finish, smashing every single record in sight. The haters are finally running out of breath, but of course, the usual troll spin starts right up...

It’s just pure trolling—taking some fake snippet of a conversation between two random guys and calling it truth.

I reported this twice already. The moderator is clearly watching, yet somehow I’m the one who gets slapped with a (totally undeserved) warning while the troll post stays up. I want an explanation here... and let's keep it professional, no insults needed.
Trolling or just being honest? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The fact that the other mods are staying quiet? I can only assume they're dodging this hot mess... The one silver lining is that the constant insults toward people buying Italian cars have finally died down in this thread. Let's see how long that actually lasts.

I reported your post. Telling someone they "don't have the capacity to understand" is a bold move... maybe someone should sit you down and explain what a definition actually is.

fadedlynx6 said:I don't have anything else to add that I haven't already said in the thread. Look, expressing an opinion about a car isn't trolling. You're taking this way too personally.
Just because you disagree with someone doesn't make them a troll. I disagree with you, but I'm not trolling—I respect your opinion, even if it's wrong.

And regarding the original post, I’ve already laid it all out in the main thread. 99% of what I said is facts... it's just that you lack the capacity to wrap your head around it.

Mr. Moderator, the OP is sharing "opinions" about drivers and targeting people, not the car itself. Everyone sees that except you. I don't know what kind of "capacity" someone needs to see this, but the subforum rules are crystal clear. When asked, you actually replied, "It's not really trolling, it's inevitable that the 159 has to be mentioned."
For you, it’s totally fine that after being on this forum for ages, someone can just show up and start talking trash like, "I heard from my cousin's buddies that the hoods fly off and mirrors fall off..."
There's no point talking to you. Let someone else decide if this is trolling and who exactly the troll is targeting. What car? Georgia has been posting stats here the whole time, yet me and a few others are being called fanatics, jerks, idiots, and unproven... all because of my (doubtful) or your "capacity" to understand things. You aren't doing your job properly. Your explanations are a joke. Don't even bother responding to me. If you're going to hand out bans, then do it. You know exactly how much we're being attacked and how many posts you've deleted in the last two days. And yet they keep coming back because you won't sanction them. This thread has turned into a total mess, and it's because of you.

Regarding this post:

If you ask me, it’s just pure trolling. A desperate attempt to mock people. Not a single word about the Giulia as a car... just picking on forum members, their plans, and how much money they have.
Reported him twice.
The moderator's response:

A few logical, well-reasoned replies to the moderator regarding an obvious oversight—unless I clearly don't understand the subforum rules.

My own response, which I think was actually argued well:

The moderator's explanation, which I honestly find hilarious:

And another one:

One of my last attempts here, though I'll be nice—the moderator just "doesn't get it":

You can see exactly what this Giulia thread has turned into from these posts.🤦
Was that first post just trolling and insulting anyone who drives Italian cars?
It’s clearly a verified troll, so I can't accept all this "he didn't mean it" nonsense. The tone and the intent are obvious to everyone... except the moderator.
Trolling the BMW 3 Series in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It’s the same damn troll. Insults people, gets a three-day ban, then comes right back to do it all over again. Reports are being totally ignored. Here’s what’s been flagged from yesterday through today:

They don't care about having different opinions, but when they start attacking users, playing armchair psychologist, acting like some cult leader, or using trashy lines like "they cheaped out by shamelessly copying the BMW"... seriously, how much trolling and filth is this forum supposed to take? And for how long? It's all wrapped up in constant insults toward anyone who disagrees, like "A rational person would have to be completely delusional to buy one of their new models in the 21st century."
Relentless trolling in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Every time I drop by an automotive thread on here, it’s the same old crowd of trolls. They don't even address the actual topic—they just spend all their energy attacking people in the comments. It's obvious what they're doing.

and so on

And none of it gets flagged. They just keep stirring the pot without any consequences...
I reported a massive pile of posts from user carevsin (look, we aren't friends, and he isn't anyone special to me, but still). I waited for a moderator to show up, but when they finally did, nothing had been done. I ended up posting twice in the thread myself because clearly anything goes—I probably deserve a warning just for speaking up. But there's zero reaction... everything stays exactly the same. I'm not the type to go sliding into moderators' DMs to play games; I want things handled publicly and transparently. So, please, just look at this thread, the direction it's taking, and the comments.

In my own post, I quoted every single one of those reported comments (none of them were even directed at me) just to prove they have absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. They are purely there to provoke other members and obsess over them.

The mods used to be able to wipe this kind of garbage away without needing to hand out warnings, so why on earth is this still sitting here?
