Kate Ward16 said:Look... 😕 if you're seeing some kind of ban in a post meant to be about a specific theme, well, 😕 no offense, but I can't fix how you perceive things. Until you can actually see the line between a "story" and "pure fantasy," there isn't much point in me typing anything out—it's just a dead end 🤷.
The topic is set up for discussion, not for listing off fantasies. Sure, someone might slip in a fantasy or a personal experience during the conversation, but that’s an aside—that's the key part. The whole point of the thread is discussion, not indulging in fantasies, though that doesn't mean there's some secret rule against mentioning them

.

😕 Alright, thanks for clearing that up!
Maybe I just misread the situation entirely!

Kate Ward16 said:That thread is meant for discussing BDSM through sharing real experiences, personal perspectives, and general insights—that’s literally the whole point of it. Writing out fantasies or desires as if they were an erotic story... sorry, but that doesn't belong there. That belongs in the specific thread linked in the post.

We are talking about fantasy here, and people write about fantasy on that thread every single day! If you actually bothered to read the entire post,
you’d realize I wasn't asking for novels or short stories. I was asking how people visualize these scenarios, especially those who don't have personal experience to draw from. Purely hypothetical, purely fantasy!

There is absolutely no violation of the rules happening here.
Try to see the bigger picture, Kate Ward16 and Matthew Anderson. 😉

You couldn't be more wrong.
Since when did we start banning people for having fantasies? People write about this kind of stuff on pretty much every single thread on this forum!

Matthew Anderson said:You were the one asking for someone to write a little story, if I recall correctly:

The thing is, Auntie pointed out that when it comes to those kinds of stories, there’s actually a specific thread dedicated to that—where BDSM serves as the jumping-off point for the discussion.

Look, that was all wrapped up in the context of my original post, and honestly, I don't see why a bit of fantasy should be an issue if the actual event isn't! We aren't talking about summarizing some classic novel here; we're talking about what's already being shared on this site! Desires! Not many people have deep experience in this area, so a little light fantasizing is actually helpful, and it's already happening anyway. Besides, the whole topic is BDSM, so it seems perfectly relevant to me. I really don't agree with this warning.

Kate Ward16 said:I quoted you just to get a word in, but let me be clear: that warning isn't aimed at you personally. It’s for everyone following this thread. I’m tired of people ignoring the request to stop debating laws and legalities in this specific discussion and that PDF. I only brought it up because you mentioned those two things again in your post.

If that's how it is, then fine. I honestly thought the warning was a direct shot at me specifically since it was attached to my post!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Warnings like that just cause confusion. When they show up inside someone's reply, the first thing anyone thinks is that it's a personal jab at the person being quoted.

Look, regarding that whole mess about raising the legal age for marriage—I already took two red cards for it. Honestly? I’m not even complaining. I’ve already gone on the record to apologize for my choice of words. Maybe they were a bit too blunt, maybe they rubbed some people the wrong way, but I’ve said my piece. I own it.

I was looking back at post number 618, and I noticed that the moderator over at T-Mobile is quoting me and sending me off. Look, let me make this clear one last time: we aren't here to litigate the fine print or debate legal technicalities. This isn't a courtroom, and I'm not your lawyer. Leave the talk about laws and rights to someone else.

I didn't say a single thing in that post—or any of my previous ones, for that matter—that should have triggered a warning. Honestly, why bother? Laws and legal technicalities don't mean a damn thing to me personally. I couldn't care less about the fine print.

Here we go again. I’m back at it, sitting under the thumb of the same moderator, getting slapped with yet another warning. Apparently, my post doesn't belong in this specific thread. They’re telling me to take my business elsewhere and move it to a different subforum. It’s like being told you're standing in the wrong aisle at a grocery store while you're just trying to buy milk—same repetitive headache, same useless lecture.

And where else would he belong? Look, when you're talking about BDSM—and my post is strictly focused on that—there isn't really any other corner of the internet where this conversation makes sense.
Right after that, she shuts me down with a quota, and then the other two moderators jump right in to pile on. Suddenly, the whole thread just turns into a loop, circling back to exactly what my controversial post was trying to say in the first place.

Can someone please walk me through why I keep getting these warnings? It feels like I'm being flagged for absolutely nothing. Any insight would be appreciated.

Select your text and click it. Delete the first part before the username you are quoting—specifically the [ / Quote ] bit—and leave the rest. It should work fine then.

Now we’re finally getting somewhere. It's actually looking right for once.

The setup you just laid out for me? It’s actually pretty solid. Really works.

You missed the closing quote tag on Lady Gaga's quotes,
shadowpilot8;41836202 said:

It’s a total joke again. If I try to copy everything inside this first set of brackets along with the code, how am I supposed to ditch the extra stuff just so I can grab that last bracket? It feels like it just sticks in my clipboard memory. How do I clear the command so I can actually toggle between copying the first bracket and then the second one?

shadowpilot8 said:

You forgot the closing quote tag on Lady Gaga's quotes; you only included the opening one. 🙂

I'm slowly getting the hang of it too, Naucic 😁

So, what? You’re just gonna sit there and manually retype every single digit from scratch? Fine by me. Go ahead.😁 Look, if you ever find yourself hitting a wall and feeling completely burnt out, just use this copy/paste method I put together. It’ll make sure none of my hard work goes to waste. 😁

Alright, I'm going to put some actual effort into this now.

Brandon Rivera11;41834375 said:

Look, there’s more than one way to grab a chunk of text. You can just highlight the section you want by dragging your mouse over it, or if you prefer being more precise, you can click once with the left button and then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through and select exactly what you need. It’s basic stuff, really.

Brandon Rivera11;41834375 said:
Look, in your case, you’re trying to copy that specific chunk inside the square brackets at the start of the post. You need to grab the brackets too, otherwise, it just won't work right.

I’ve got this nagging gut feeling that we’re about to watch another absolute circus unfold. It's going to be a total joke, just like last time. 🤣

Brandon Rivera11;41834375 said:

Once you’ve highlighted that chunk of text, just reach for the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard. Hold that down, hit "C" at the same time, and you're done. It's a much faster way to copy stuff than fumbling around with a mouse.

Once you've actually set that up, you just pick the specific spot in the post where you want the copied text to land. Click right there until that blinking vertical cursor shows up, then hit Ctrl and V at the same time. It’s a much faster way to paste things than fumbling around with menus.

So far, this whole copying thing seems to be working out alright. 🙂

Brandon Rivera11 said:🤣

Well, if you really want to, go ahead and retype every single number one by one... 😁 If that gets too exhausting for you—and it might—here’s a quick copy/paste workaround so I'm not just wasting my breath. 😁

Just highlight the section you need by clicking and dragging your cursor over the text you want to grab.

In your case, you'll want to grab that part inside the brackets at the start of the post. Include the brackets too, just to be safe.

Once that bit is highlighted, find the "ctrl" key on your keyboard, hold it down, and hit "c" at the same time. It's much faster than manual typing.

After that, go to where you actually want to put the text, click there so you see that blinking vertical line, then hold "ctrl" again and tap "v". That's the shortcut for pasting.

Once you've copied something once, you can keep pasting it as many times as you need.

P.S. Honestly, I kind of wish you were just trolling me... 😁

Look, I'm not trolling anyone. I’m just a guy who knows his way around a computer. That's really all there is to it. 😁

Big thanks to Brandon Rivera11 for the assist! So, typing out the code manually is the trick? Finally, it clicked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction 🙂

I was basically banging my head against the wall trying to copy and paste everything like I saw in some old thread, but nothing worked! It just wouldn't take.

Dude! 🙂 What the hell are you doing? 🙂

A single quote block uses exactly one code. That code is what you see inside those brackets, and it’s split into two parts—one goes before your text, and the other goes after.

When you want to quote someone, there are basically three ways to play it:

1. A plain quote without a name, where the code looks like this:

- To make sure the code actually displays right, you have to kill that space I put between the first bracket and the word quote. If you do it right, you get this:

2. A quote with a username, but without linking back to a specific post. The code looks like this:
Nicholas Williams7 said:
. Again, to fix the display, just ditch the space I left between the opening bracket and the word quote. Then you get this:

And then there's the third option—the one you've been banging your head against: a quote that includes both the username and a link to the original post. The code is
Nicholas Williams7;postnumber said:
. Just remember to wipe out that extra space between the first bracket and the word quote. Here’s how it would look using your last post as an example:

Yeah, the surgery was a success, but the patient didn't make it.

Bottom line: you need one set of codes for every segment you want to quote. One quote, one code.

Look, the issue is I don't even know how to grab those opening and closing brackets to wrap around the text. That's the wall I'm hitting. There's supposed to be some "copy and paste" magic happening, but technically speaking, I'm completely lost. 😢 If it's not too much trouble, talk to me like I'm five. Give it to me straight—like, "click here, move it there, highlight this part." Honestly, I'm just a total tech dinosaur. 😁

Take a look at what I wrote above—the forum glitched and threw my post right over yours...

I don't get how you're moving those big brackets used for the QUOTE tag. From what I can gather, you're supposed to shift them to the end of every single quote you want to reply to, otherwise you lose the actual text and just end up with a lonely "quote" label sitting there!

The little experiment I ran above is 🤦

Look, I’ll give you an example here. I know how to break a post, but what I’m actually trying to do is make sure every single blue highlight says it’s from
. You get where I'm coming from? If I leave that last bracket in there, it shows up as being from you, but then I end up stuck inside the blue section 🙂

Back in May, American astronomers discovered Gliese 581 D, located roughly 20 light-years away; it’s about six times the size of Earth and part of a system containing at least six planets. Then, just three months later, a Swiss person reported that another planet, HD 85512b, sitting 36 light-years out, might actually be habitable. This particular planet, tucked away in the Veli valley, has a mass approximately 3.6 times that of Earth.

Nah, then his name won't even show up

nor will there be a link back to his original post. What I always do is just snip the tag from the end and slap it onto the end of the first section you actually want to talk about,
and then for everything else, just use that "highlight then quote" trick

let me see how it looks
You didn't even include a link to his original post, so you might as well try what I always do: just grab that tag from the very end of the message and move it up to the end of the specific section you actually want to comment on.

let me see how that looks

Look, I have no clue how you "cut and paste" that kind of thing. How does that even work?
