It’s not even really "rooting" for them—it’s more like having a deep-seated sympathy for the franchise
Back somewhere in the late 80s or early 90s, I started following the NBA much more intensely, and since Michael Jordan was basically my God, I ended up developing a soft spot for all the teams out of Chicago
Honestly, as much as we loved mocking the way the French fall apart when they face us, those matchups actually served as a reality check. They showed us exactly where we stand on the global stage—it’s a wake-up call. If we played ten games against them, they’d walk away with nine wins without breaking a sweat.
Then there was the game against Poland. Let’s be real: mentally, those guys are far more fragile than us—total chokers. They walked onto the court thinking it would be a cakewalk, and instead, they ended up losing in a fashion you maybe see once in a lifetime.
For six or seven years now, we’ve been fed this endless narrative about "rebuilding" the national team. First, we were building for New York City, now we’re supposedly building for Rio, and so on. Every time we stumble into a bronze medal or a fourth-place finish, we just sweep our systemic issues under the rug. This tournament? It wasn't some display of elite talent; it was just a perfect storm of lucky breaks that landed us where we are.
And frankly, it's a waste of breath talking about Babb... Forget about miracles or divine intervention—success comes from pure, relentless work, grueling sacrifice, and pouring literal blood, sweat, and tears into the craft. You need actual knowledge and constant self-improvement to get results.
I'd say the Suker brand is finally facing some serious competition when it comes to making bold statements.
Alright, let me lay out exactly what's going on here. I’ve got an ASUS X55A laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. It’s about two and a half years old now, and honestly, up until recently, I haven't had a single hiccup—hardware or software—the whole time. My usage is pretty basic: just browsing the web, streaming movies or shows, listening to music, that kind of thing. For anything remotely intensive like gaming, I always jump on my desktop.
But then, a few days ago, the machine decided to download a massive pile of updates, and ever since? Everything has gone completely, utterly, and frankly, infuriatingly sideways. It’s a total disaster.
Now, when I boot it up, I have to sit there for at least five minutes just waiting for Windows to load. And even after that, I’m stuck waiting another 15 to 20 minutes while all these various systems struggle to initialize. Once it finally settles, the whole thing is painfully sluggish—opening even the simplest program feels like pulling teeth.
Web browsing has become a nightmare. Every time I try to open a new tab, Firefox just freezes up for two or three minutes straight, throwing that "Mozilla Firefox is not responding" error at me, and once it finally unfreezes, the page loads at a snail's pace.
To make matters worse, the sound has vanished entirely. The system claims everything is working perfectly fine, but there's nothing. I've tried reinstalling the drivers—wiped the old ones and installed the new ones—but no luck. I even followed several troubleshooting tips I found on the ASUS support site specifically for this model, but absolutely nothing worked.
I ran scans with Malwarebytes and some other tools, and everything came back clean. No viruses, no malware.
It is beyond frustrating because this laptop has become practically useless. At this rate, the only way I could get rid of it would be to try and sell it to some kind of masochist.
So, what do you think? Should I just wipe the whole drive and perform a clean reinstall?
wiredseal7 said:Look, can we please just move past this Goluza nonsense already and actually bring in someone who has a clue what they're doing?...
Honestly, if you want to talk about getting rid of Goluza, you really need to start by cutting Gopac loose first.☕
In that last offensive play, they finally seemed to remember the wingers existed🤣🤣
Duvnjak hasn't played a single decent minute in this tournament
Does anyone even know if our wingers are actually on the field?🤔
Every time I think about it, I’m instantly transported back to the mid-eighties, sitting in some dark movie theater watching *The Right Stuff*. I was just a kid back then—probably one of the few people actually paying attention. Half the audience had completely checked out; you could practically hear the collective snoring echoing through the room. Honestly? I can't say I blamed them. To my younger self, the pacing felt so incredibly sluggish that it was borderline agonizing. It actually ended up being such a tedious experience for me that I caught a few sharp swats behind the ears from my old man—just his way of telling me to sit still and settle down.😁
The British are honestly just kidding themselves at this point—you’ve got Sky claiming millions of people worldwide are glued to their screens just to watch a handful of Brits struggle to fix a fence.😁
Ferrari just picked up the Markov car😁
