James Mitchell18 said:/cut/You guys have totally lost the plot, this is getting ridiculous...
Honestly, I saw this coming. Anyone who’s been following this saga from day one and watched how this forum morphed once the Corona stuff hit could've predicted this. After all those phases of playing games and "adjusting" the rules—if you want to be polite about them basically spitting on their own guidelines—we finally arrived at this stage of total infantile nonsense.
Props to some of the mods, especially our supermod Smart Mouth. She did the only logical thing: once she realized her own bias would mess with her ability to moderate fairly and rationally, she asked to step back from the Corona threads entirely. That's how you handle things.
Moderator Ego should've done the exact same thing, but hey, the name says it all. Instead of realizing he wasn't cut out to moderate a topic like Corona, he just let his ego run wild and enjoyed the ride.
Fast forward about two years, and everyone's finally realized there's no point in the panic or the constant arguing anymore. So now, all that's left is the "tee-hee, haha, lol" routine.
There's actually a psychological reason for this behavior too. It's called cognitive dissonance. After a while, people lose their grip. Since the mass extinction promised by the virus didn't happen, they don't feel the need to dodge info or arguments from the "other side" of the spectrum anymore. Now, they just pivot to this fake, affected wit and acting casual, like, "Oh, please, I knew it was all nonsense from the start." 🤣
Some people might use this cognitive dissonance as a chance to actually look in the mirror and face their own questionable stances and actions. Others? Well... they'll probably just stay moderators.
gentleharbor3 said:Let’s keep this going. Capak confirmed that vaccinated people can still spread the virus, so why aren't they being tested and sent into isolation when a close
family member gets sick?
"What is absolutely certain, based on the literature and scientific studies, is that both vaccinated individuals and those who have recovered can also briefly carry the virus on their mucosa and transmit it to someone else, though certainly to a much lesser extent than vulnerable people who, because they are susceptible, may fall ill and then—whether symptomatic or asymptomatic—spread the virus to others. To my knowledge, no one in the world has mandated testing for vaccinated people unless they are working with immunocompromised patients. In those cases, if exposure to a sick person is proven, they must be tested, which is clearly stated in our guidelines. We always maintain that regardless of vaccination or prior infection, standard epidemiological measures must still be followed, as these measures are essential for reducing the risk of spreading the infection to others," said Capak.
Forget about "to a much lesser extent." That's total BS. The bottom line is whether they can transmit it or not, and the answer is: yes, they can!
It's the same logic as being able to get infected and develop symptoms; if you can catch it and feel it, you can pass it on.
The severity of the symptoms doesn't change the fact. There is only one truth here: vaccination
might protect YOU from the worst outcomes, but it doesn't stop the infection itself! It is high time this was clearly and publicly defined.
Besides, this guy is a terrible communicator. He's so bad at it he sounds like he has zero clue what he's doing and is just making it up as he goes.
He is literally contradicting the very information posted on his own agency's website.
And then people wonder why vaccination rates are so low. After all this, I wouldn't believe Capak if he told me it was raining outside.
They basically extended the validity of those certificates for a year just as a bureaucratic move to force people into getting shots. That whole call is totally arbitrary and authoritarian; it isn't based on any actual medical or epidemiological data.
Basically, it's a reward for the rule-followers and a slap in the face to anyone pushing back. No authority figure ever backs down from their agenda, no matter how much it hurts the people they're trying to control.
Think about it: when you realize some toxic, selfish, narcissistic parent is trying to break a kid's will based on something that has zero BASIS, what happens? They don't apologize. They just get worse, more aggressive, and way more arrogant. That's exactly how the government acts. Exactly like that. Total psychopaths.
Charles Fox10 said:So, a buddy of mine asked if he could take that $100 card off your hands. If he does, your ban should get cut down to just 7 days. If you don't see the ban lift automatically after that, just jump back in this thread and let us know—someone will go in and manually clear it for you.
What are you even doing, asking for 500 after an intro like that? Honestly, I almost stopped reading right there. And yeah, I’m with the other guy on this—that card is total garbage. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Look, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, sure. But honestly? It’s not just about *what* you say—it’s about how you actually lay it out on the page and the whole vibe of the context you're dropping it in. That makes all the difference.
I'm totally with boldan on this one.
I could’ve phrased this differently, but man, I gotta admit—that article ball posted really set me off. It was about that small business owner who just had his fine slashed by... $10000It’s such a mess, honestly. The tragedy gets even worse when you realize that the actual fines for not wearing a mask aren't even legally active yet. Instead, they somehow found this shady loophole to penalize them under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact... Look, I know enough about the law to know you can't just pull stunts like that, but whatever. Anyway, I already replied to that post from ball.
Thanks to both of you for helping me get that second card off and for all the info.
Hey there,
let me try this one more time...
so, here's the deal: does this post actually merit 500 points?
I’m looking for an answer from someone above the mod level, and I’d really appreciate it. It'll help me figure out if I actually wrote a "scarlet letter" kind of post, or if there's just something weird going on with this forum lately... or maybe a third option—is this just someone's personal vendetta? Like, maybe I've been getting on someone's nerves somewhere down the line and they just saw a chance to come down hard on me. If that's the case, I need to know so I can adjust how I approach my (un)writing here.
I really need some clarity because this penalty for this specific post caught me totally off guard.
Thanks.
Look, I feel like I’ve got a right to some self-defense here, so I'm gonna lay out briefly why I think this penalty is way over the top.
In that post that got slapped with 500 points and labeled as "crackpot conspiracy theories and nonsense," I didn't actually say anything that should be causing a massive outcry or total outrage.
And I wasn't spreading lies either, because according to the data (Dr. Ioannidis)
mortality sits around 0.2% for the global population, and that kind of outcome mostly applies to, well, old people. I don't know when being an "old person" became such a politically incorrect thing to say, but apparently, it is now.
The survival rate for this disease if you're under 70 is 99.95%. That's what Dr. Bhattacharya from Stanford says.
Plus, I didn't say the "goal of the deadly virus is to destroy small business owners," because a virus definitely can't have (that kind of) conscious intent—common sense still works for me, after all—rather, one of the goals of this whole farce is to achieve that through certain measures.
Basically, I think that after all the illogical nonsense, contradictions, excuses, lies, and double standards being shoved down our throats by world leaders—and especially our own leadership here in the US—thinking this way isn't a sign of a broken mind obsessed with conspiracies or lizard people. If this whole situation weren't so tragic, it would actually be funny.
Take churches, for example. They aren't some huge factor in filling up the government budget; if anything, they're draining it. Yet they stay open. And to make the farce and madness even bigger, the most vulnerable group—the elderly and the sick—is being gathered there, while we're supposed to protect them by shutting down restaurants where the least risky people hang out. A hundred facepalms wouldn't even cover how ridiculous this decision is.
Moving on, I don't see anything controversial about saying the state wants people to be economically dependent on them. Economic dependency is a rock-solid way to increase influence, power, control, and manipulation. Those are just historical facts. I didn't make that up.
One last thing—I didn't call "everyone else who doesn't get this big conspiracy theory" sheep. I called sheep the ones who haven't even stopped to think about what economic dependency actually implies.
lonebadger6 (my bad for misspelling your handle in the title, but I got it right in the body), look, I get it. What you’re saying here definitely earns you a massive penalty—I’d be handing out 100 or 500 points myself if I were in your shoes. But honestly? If we’re actually talking about sticking to intellectual honesty and basic academic integrity, then half the people posting on the COVID-19 threads in the Politics section should probably be banned for saying the exact same stuff I just did. Not even kidding.
So, I asked for someone higher up the food chain than you to weigh in and give these posts a grade.
I know, I know—it’s a huge pain to have to read through all this, and if anyone disagrees, it feels like a direct hit to your authority. But hey, if another supermod jumps in and agrees totally with how strict you're being with this rating, then fine. I'll just back off. I'm not gonna keep pushing for a review.
My bad. The posts weren't actually deleted. The forum was just lagging so much I didn't realize they were still sitting right there on the thread.
First off, my bad—I don't hang out in this corner of the forum much, so I totally missed that the rules for starting new threads had changed.
So, I’m curious: why were my posts in the COVID-19 thread hit so hard? Getting labeled as "crackpot nonsense" feels a bit much. Look, we’re seeing these totally useless and damaging "epidemiological" mandates that are absolutely crushing small business owners—people who are basically keeping both the government and its officials afloat.
The way these measures are being handled is causing massive disagreement globally. It’s getting pretty obvious that this is more of a political circus than a health issue. Yet, somehow, a moderator decided they were qualified to slap me down just because my take clashes with their personal views rather than actual forum rules. I wasn't insulting anyone, and I didn't say anything offensive or wild. I just shared an opinion that goes against the official political narrative.
It’s clear that this kind of heavy-handed censorship of free speech is popping up everywhere on public platforms lately, but until recently, this forum felt like one of the few places where you could actually speak your mind.
Suppressing free speech like this—something people used to value above almost everything else as a cornerstone of civilization—is honestly more shameful than any "stupid" opinion a "stupid" person might drop here. This isn't some high-level scientific symposium; it's a forum.
At the end of the day, the "harm" caused by a single dissenting opinion is practically zero.
So, please, can someone above KCLK take a look at those posts? I can't even link them because they've already been wiped. I'd really appreciate it if someone could re-evaluate whether they actually deserved those 500 and 100 point penalties!
Thanks.
I gotta say, the Covid threads over in Politics have been handled incredibly well from day one. It’s a night and day difference compared to that one thread in the women's corner. Honestly, I don't even dare post there because the moderator running that section is a total, die-hard believer in everything regarding the corona crisis. I feel like if you even slightly question the narrative, you aren't just getting banned—you're being sent straight to hell. 🤣The vibe there is so heavy with fear that only a handful of people actually post. A lot of the regulars who usually hang out in the women's corner end up staying quiet, only occasionally dropping a cautious critique of all the paranoia that just keeps flowing from one post to the next.
Gerald Chavez7 said:Look, if someone drops thirty posts in a row—you and HHmishko included—just constantly jumping at each other, it kills the conversation. There are ten times more people reading than actually posting. Once you factor in the regulars, about 95% of the community has to scroll through three or four pages of your "duel."
It's not that I have an issue with him personally—it's just that if he repeats posts without actually engaging in the discussion... well, like I said, he's done this five or six times since March. It just doesn't make sense.
It’s pretty debatable what you mean by "ruining the discussion." Neither me nor HHmishko
planned to dump posts back-to-back like that. There just weren't many active users online at 1 AM, so nobody was really interrupted by this totally random streak you’re calling "jumping on each other." That's an unbelievable excuse to delete posts that didn't break a single rule, other than the fact they were posted close together. 🤣
I thought the forum wasn't some kind of mandatory job, where how much scrolling happens or how long it takes matters to someone who’s clearly just chilling when they log on. But hey, no point in me typing all this out since you're the moderator, and I'm sure you'll always be right while I'm always wrong.
P.S. Shoutout to Charles Davis84
So, Gerald Chavez7, did you seriously just delete all those arguments? I mean, what else are we supposed to expect on a forum when people are on totally different sides of an issue? You can't just slap a label like "bickering" on a debate and call it a day—real discussion is the whole damn point of this place, right?
crimsonfox51 said:Hey everyone.
At 27, I’m looking back at all those wild parties I used to throw with my crew from this hilarious, lighthearted perspective—back when that lifestyle was actually "in." But then you meet the right person. You decide to focus on your career, shift your mindset about the future, and work on yourself. You try to be better in every way possible. Honestly, I’ve reached a point where I’m genuinely looking forward to 2019 so I can finally get married, settle down, and start a family. My fiancée and I both have steady jobs, and we’re currently planning our future and looking at buying an apartment together. You eventually realize what actually brings real happiness. Unlike my friends, unfortunately. My buddies—some even older than me—are still stuck in a permanent state of puberty. They go out to drink every other day just to destroy themselves with alcohol. It’s just the same endless cycle over and over. They’re always calling me to hit the clubs or go out drinking. I wouldn't mind hitting a club once a month, but I'd much rather invite them out for coffee or a drink at a nice lounge where we can actually talk, laugh, and hear each other. Not like those deaf, silent people just pounding drinks and nodding their heads in some loud club. There are eight of them, and not one has ever been in a serious relationship. Every single night out is strictly about getting wasted and nothing else. None of them have jobs or any real direction in life, which is honestly sad. It kind of revolts me to think about living just for the next beer or wondering who to call to go drinking every single night. For the last three years, I’ve been turning them down for those kinds of nights. Instead, I’ve tried organizing BBQs, occasional coffee runs, walks, or just good conversations. I even tried introducing them to my fiancée's friends, but they always turn everything into a massive, obnoxious joke. Lately, because of the wedding, the apartment, and work, I haven't had time to go out at all. My friends took it as a huge betrayal. Now they don't even invite me for coffee anymore because, according to them, "he ditched us for his girl." They’ve gotten so stuck up, too. Every time I reach out to grab a drink, the response is always, "We already made plans!" and they just leave without me. So, after this long rant, here's my question:
"Do you think I'm doing something wrong? Am I thinking about life the wrong way, and why do you think people act like this?"
Thanks.
You are, yeah. It's because you're way too insecure about your own life choices, and you're letting them reject you instead. You're letting them dump all this guilt on you, making you feel like you're the one doing something wrong to them, 😵 when you should have just told them, "Forget this crowd, I'm not into the constant bender lifestyle. When you're ready to hang out like normal adults, let me know. Otherwise, stop leaving me out of the loop."
But you didn't do that because you lack confidence, and you're trying to start a family. God help me. I can only imagine how much someone as easily swayed as you will struggle when that same group tries to talk you into stupid stuff once family life gets stressful and heavy—maybe in 5 or 6 years, when the routine sets in and you think, "Man, is this really it? Is this all I wanted out of life?!"
northernpilot2 said:Hey darksailor2, I went ahead and shrunk down that animation for you, so it should actually work now, just give it a shot 🙂

I finally applied it, wiiii 🙂, this 75x75 size is honestly perfect 🙂
Look, darksailor2, you might be able to go back to using the larger one now, I guess, but if not, well, at least I made this smaller version for you.
Alright, someone tell me how to actually lower the animation settings.😍 I really want my avatar to spin, like, roll along. Right now it just moves forward, but it’s stiffer than that weird hooded jumper guy from that one site.😁
<--------- look at him. He's just standing there looking dumb, while everyone else online is rolling around. 😬
Thanks, unknown, I'm gonna try installing it now.
Still won't roll. Man.
So, I saw a post somewhere saying you guys are cool with changing nicknames—like just fixing a lowercase letter to an uppercase one—so I totally skipped the whole formal request thing on this thread. Instead, I just shot a direct message to mellowraven22. I even apologized right off the bat for being so blunt about it.
But, uh, radio silence on my end. No reply, no fix... now I'm sitting here wondering if I accidentally annoyed him or if I'm just being super impatient.😁
Anyway, just to play by the rules, I’m asking the mods here: could someone please fix my username? I'd love to have that little "a" at the start changed to a capital.
Thanks.🙂 🙂
It's possible he hasn't been able to get onto the site lately since the forum's been acting up the last couple of days. Maybe try reaching out again? Just don't blow up his inbox. If nothing happens in a week, check back in here.
Also, a quick heads-up to everyone else: please don't skip the official steps!

Then what??😁
I don't know, but I'm digging this opening post.🙂
It’s basically an Ode to Selfishness. Honestly, I much prefer it when people actually have the guts to admit why they had kids and what they're really afraid of (especially when they get old), rather than feeding me those lines about how they had them "for the kids."
So, since the author was cool enough to lay out their ego and fear of being alone so beautifully, I'll be real about my own vanity too. I honestly have no clue where I'd find any joy or happiness if I had to play full-time nanny to a tiny, miniature version of myself 24/7—not if I wanted things done properly, seriously and high-quality, according to my standards (which, let's face it, are pretty damn high).
