If they fail? New elections, new mods.

By just closing threads about the lack of mods or shrugging our shoulders, I don't think we're doing anything constructive to solve the actual problem.

The issue with the site search tool lasted over a year, and I think anyone would agree that was a much smaller headache than the current moderator shortage, since moderation is the backbone of any community.

But let's be clear: this isn't a thread for submitting nominations for new moderators.
If you go back to the start of the thread, you'll see what this is actually about—it's about one user's behavior.
