Conan the Barbarian (1982) in Movies ·
The testosterone levels just skyrocket during this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3kBWP231hI , especially when Rexor lets out that "YoUUU," man.

And honestly, I think the soundtrack is a huge reason why this movie hits so hard.
Why do leftists hate the rich and successful? in Close to Politics ·
Yeah, sure, but you have to look at how much of that wealth actually came from honest work versus just straight-up theft, war profiteering, and general shady dealings. You really can't compare the billionaires over in the States to what we see here. Over there, they spent two or three generations building up that kind of legacy, whereas around here, people are pulling it off in ten years or less.

Look, he was great in The Fresh Prince, and honestly? That’s enough for me.

I’ve gotta be honest, his son really rubbed me the wrong way in The Day the Earth Stood Still, and honestly, even Will Smith isn't doing much to save it. I guess I’ll just have to suck it up though, since I'm such a sucker for any solid sci-fi.
Let the Right One in (2010) in Movies ·
So, I just finished watching the American version, but based on what everyone’s saying here, it sounds like I really need to check out the original. Personally? I thought the movie was fantastic. I truly felt like they were a couple, even if it was a dysfunctional, twisted, and honestly pretty heartbreaking kind of connection. But now I’m starting to second-guess everything. Is she just picking those guardians specifically so she can coddle him? Is she actually this massive manipulator? Because if so, man, that poor kid is doomed. In the American version, she heads over to the pool and takes out everyone trying to drown him. That implies she was tracking him the whole time just to swoop in and "save" him—which would be some seriously heavy manipulation. And here I was, actually wanting to believe in them...

Nothing special, honestly—just some total brain rot that I wiped away immediately after reading.
The Secret Service (2011) in Movies ·
When he went on that talk show and dropped that line about how "I thought only Black people and Mexicans were moving drugs"... or even that bit where he talked about wanting a family but just couldn't quit the hookers, I knew right then and there I had to keep an eye on this guy.

So, I just finished watching that Russian war flick *Voyn* from 2002, and man, I gotta say—after sitting through that, along with *Brest Fortress* and *Admiral*, I’ve come to a realization: Russian war movies absolutely rock. There’s just something about them. Honestly, they feel way more gritty and realistic than most American war movies, at least compared to the newer stuff we see coming out lately. The ones I just watched? I’d easily put them in the same league as heavy hitters like *Saving Private Ryan* or *Platoon*. They hit different. Tomorrow, I might dive into the German production of *Stalingrad* from '93, and if I have enough energy left, I might finally check out that South Korean one, *Taegukgi*. Wish me luck!

Man, I was pretty much in the mix back in high school too, but either girls were way too shy or I was just straight-up awkward and couldn't make a move to save my life. Honestly, though, that’s all ancient history now, and you can't pay the bills with nostalgia. I was actually out walking through downtown today, scouting some spots to hopefully launch a new business venture, and I didn't even think about looking at anyone. It's like, dating isn't even on my radar anymore—one less thing to stress about, right? Once you reach a point where you can't even picture yourself having a girlfriend, you know it's time to officially retire those daydreams. My focus has shifted completely; right now, I just need to find the right business opportunity and run with it.

Man, this is absolutely wild. I seriously can't believe it—I finally found someone who’s basically my twin. So, you just want to watch the whole world go up in flames, huh? Hahahhahaha (total Joker vibes here). Honestly, I was exactly where you are about seven years ago. Just thinking back to all that rage simmering inside me... ugh, gives me the chills. Back in high school, I felt like I wanted to crawl out of my own skin every single day, just tear it off alive. And yeah, the urge to hit things was there, but I wasn't punching concrete walls; I was smashing lamps and furniture, which pretty much trashed my room. Eventually, I pivoted to stuff that didn't break things—push-ups, sit-ups, and every year I'd spend splitting massive loads of firewood, running, and going on miles and miles of walks. I don't know what specifically set you off, but for me, it was all the stuff I kept bottled up. I just stayed quiet and took everything, until this one thing happened back in '98, but I'm not gonna go there. Then in '03, I almost died in a logging accident along with some other guys. I was the only one who walked away with nothing more than a few scratches—not even worth a Band-Aid. When I went back to school, nobody gave a damn, even though they'd heard about the accident. That daily feeling of being ignored, people laughing, acting like you're just some ant that doesn't matter... ugh, just remembering that fury makes me feel like I'm burning up. And the dreams? Man, I swear they were intense enough to shame Quentin Tarantino. I even got into a scrap with this one guy once; I saw stars right then and there. He was one of those "cool" funny types, hahahha, but I actually terrified him. It wasn't a big deal after, though; I calmed down eventually. As the years passed, I started finding my peace through meditation, working out, and just getting used to life. Now, I can honestly say I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I've never had a girlfriend and probably never will, because I just don't have the right hardware. Everyone else seems to be running on an AMD Athlon or a Pentium 4, while I'm still stuck on a 486. As for being ugly? Man, I got over that. It actually works in my favor sometimes; guys hesitate twice before trying to pick a fight with me, and girls just cross the street, hahahahha, that always cracks me up. I've also made peace with the fact that people who aren't even half as smart as me, yet managed to graduate from college, are making way more money than I am. But hey, I'm a college dropout, and that's fine. Nothing lasts forever, right?
