Show some love!

Well, look at you being such a wonderful host! First, you go ahead and nudge me into starting a thread, and then you start recruiting participants from all over Reddit. You’re even out here supporting us and the mods!👍 Thanks, really, thanks.

If only the higher-ups at corporate actually took a page out of your book, maybe we wouldn't be struggling so much.👋

I mean, could we at least get a single response on this topic? Maybe an acknowledgment that our request was received? A formal critique? Or just a straight-up rejection?😳 🤔 🤷 😱

I can't help but feel a little neglected here... which, okay, might be a bit much of me to say, but honestly...😢...it feels like every single day, in every possible way, we're just spinning our wheels and staying stuck in the same spot.😢 😢 😬
Transgender Corner in Feedback & Suggestions ·
@rustydrifter10...honestly, I don't think that would be a great move, and we should probably steer clear of that specific angle entirely! Instead, let's put all our energy into convincing the higher-ups and the decision-makers that this new corner of the site is actually a necessity.

Lisa Hernandez3 said:Well, I suppose jokes aside, we really are reworking things that have been bothering us for a while—so drawing parallels to other subreddits, while framing it as a vision for a higher quality space that might overcome the supposed flaws of current sections, definitely belongs in this conversation. Even if those "flaws" are just basic introductory stereotypes or mere teasers. Redmarlin3 (Herpov 😍) off-topic isn't actually what it seems, because it illustrates the real work still needed here—specifically, the willingness to fully commit to a certain concept and put everything on the line to make it happen.

Nina, I’d suggest you try an experiment: maybe open a thread over in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that would, in your opinion, capture the exact tone and content we’d want to see on a future subforum like that—just to see if the idea actually holds water.

I’m feeling a little lost here and could really use some clarification—feel free to shoot me a DM if that's easier—because I have this nagging feeling we're drifting away from the core issue, and I'd hate for that to negatively impact how the admin team views our proposal for the new sub-forum.
I'm just not quite sure if you're suggesting I start a thread for the purpose of:
a.) "Recruiting members" to join the new sub-forum.
b.) Conducting a general analysis of whether we can actually hold truly reasoned debates on Reddit without people bringing gender, nationality, or other identities into it. (By that, I mean those instances where such comments are totally irrelevant to the topic. Of course, there are topics where those factors matter, and we shouldn't ignore them there!)
c.) Taking a purely psychological approach to the whole problem.
d.) A mix of the options above.
e.) Something else entirely.

Just a quick side note: unfortunately, I'm really reluctant to go with option c. I mentioned before that I usually only start threads when I'm genuinely stumped, and since about 80% of my own family graduated from two different departments at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (specifically psychology and sociology), my natural curiosity combined with that upbringing makes the whole psychological aspect of this issue feel... well, pretty obvious to me. 😬

(...) because he's essentially illustrating the work that still needs to be done regarding this topic—specifically, the willingness to fully commit to a concept and put everything on the line to make it happen.

I have to ask... (yes, yes, I know I'm being a bit much, but at least I'm being polite about it!) ...is this advice coming from an administrative standpoint or just as a fellow user?
I'm only asking because I'd love to hear what the administration thinks, and I'm sure others would too... just give us a sign that you've noticed us or that our ideas are actually being considered!

After clearing up all those confusing points, I think I’ve finally grasped what briskpuma23 was getting at with his intro! It feels like his vision and my own ideas might actually be two sides of the same coin, so here goes—taking a stab at a concept, or at least how I personally envision it, just like Lisa Hernandez3 suggested.

The subforum would essentially function much like our current Men's & Women's Corner, offering a huge variety of topics while maintaining strict guidelines on what stays out (basically, any kind of chauvinism is a no-go... and let's not forget the "smiley-face only" posts 😁).

So, the target audience would be those folks that briskpuma23 described as being "trans-gendered, non-nationalists, stateless, and xenophiles."
Regarding the trans-gendered aspect (which was definitely the most confusing part!), I was thinking about gender fluidity in terms of all sorts of life roles and social situations, rather than just focusing on sexual preferences when picking a partner. Basically, I mean people who don't really care about the gender of the person they're chatting with on topics that have nothing to do with sex (which is hard to say for the current Men's & Women's Corner), and also people who aren't concerned with the gender of whoever they happen to fall in love with.

That same logic can totally be applied to the other three groups—the non-nationalists, the stateless, and the xenophiles.
If I’m being a little sentimental, I guess I was aiming for people who simply view everyone else as human beings.

Since we never run out of things to talk about in the existing corners, I don't think we'd have any trouble finding enough material for this one either.
As for the participants... maybe it's just me, but after browsing through various other subreddits, I get the impression there are plenty of people who fit perfectly into that group briskpuma23 described, and I honestly think they’d jump at the chance to post in a space that’s truly "their" corner.

Thanks so much in advance!

Lisa Hernandez3 said:Who are you asking? I suppose she could theoretically step into a moderator role just by being motivated—though, honestly, we aren't really discussing that right now. Let's just take a moment to enjoy the sunshine instead. If anyone feels like sharing a compliment, feel free... as long as it isn't just someone being shut out.

I guess I was just being general! It honestly feels like I have to explain myself three times over sometimes. 😁 Though, unless I've had a really bad day, I usually mean exactly what I write down.😁
Theoretically, she could moderate just by being motivated, even though we aren't actually talking about that right now.

Oh, I wouldn't want to, believe me! I'm just not on Reddit often enough, and honestly, I don't think there's any chance I'd ever actually ban anyone.
Let's bring the concept out into the light. If anyone has any compliments, feel free to share them! Just please, no bashing.

I'm actually working on it right this second! It might take a little while, though, because I'm trying my absolute best to make sure everything turns out perfect.😁

Hey everyone, is anybody actually out there reading these posts? 😠

briskpuma23 said:First, let's get this corner open. Honestly, I can't think of anything else I'd want to moderate. And please, skip the explicit compliments—to me, that’s worse than being cursed at.
While everyone seems to be rushing to appoint moderators, wouldn't it make more sense to have someone actually invested in the community, like Matthew Grant9?

That's my two cents. I'll check back in once someone manages to truly get under my skin.

Nooo, go ahead and edit that if you're still hanging around, just so nobody takes you too seriously!

I am saying this with absolute certainty: there is no way Matthew Grant9 could handle any moderation duties, at least certainly nothing of any real quality.

Lisa Hernandez3 said:@ Matthew Grant9 - I suppose transgender identity has its own specific place, particularly regarding gender, and perhaps it shouldn't be conflated with supranationality—even if the logic feels somewhat similar. Personally, I might suggest viewing it more as a conceptual or theoretical framework rather than just an intimate, personal identification. You could look at this thread for comparison: http://www.reddit.com/r/example_thread

Well, yes, that’s what I was getting at above—the concept. Not exactly "anything," per se; it's more like how things work at queer festivals—lots of psychology and sociology topics, or even art, which could fit within the scope. Various types of transfers. For instance, why does America have a porn star version of Severina, but no Colbert? 😬 (Leaving aside our local version of Colbert, obviously.) But I won't go any further; it's only fair to let briskpuma23 weigh in—I’m just thinking that since this topic is already here, we might as well stir the pot a little. 😬

Oh, I’m certainly not disputing that! I totally get what transgender means by definition, but as I’ve tried to explain several times in this thread, I was really just trying to paint a picture of what I envision for a potential new corner of the site.
So, I'm not actually advocating for a literal "transgender corner" in the way the term is usually used; I'm aiming for something else entirely. And, honestly, I have to admit there's a pretty good chance I completely missed the mark on what briskpuma23 was getting at, but if that turns out to be true, I’ll just go ahead and start a whole new thread where I can properly argue for the specific corner I have in mind.
Before briskpuma23 chimed in just now, I hadn't even considered whether I needed a fresh thread. But now that I see it might be necessary, I'll head off to whip up something that actually makes sense and has a bit of structure to it. 😁

feralpilot0 said:In my experience, the people constantly demanding special rules are usually the ones talking nonsense most of the time—the OP himself completely misjudged someone's political leaning after reading just two posts on a skydiving thread, for instance—so I think the rest of Reddit handles these topics just fine, provided people actually have the imagination and the desire to engage in civilized discussion. 😉

I'm quite certain that back in the early days of Reddit, there weren't nearly this many subreddits, and it's highly likely they'll keep growing in the future... so now it's really just a question of whether the idea I've been sharing deserves its own little spot under the American internet sun.

slywolf45 said:Hold on, what do you mean "anything"?
If the file is titled the Transgender corner, I assume there’s at least some loose connection to the subject matter. It’s not like someone is going to pop into that specific section to start a heated debate about... I don't know, lawn care.
Because if that's actually the case, then the whole point of having this PDF is moot. General discussion threads already have plenty of room to breathe on the existing files.

Not every single thread in the Men's or Women's corners is strictly limited to one gender or tied directly to those themes either. But honestly, it can get pretty awkward sometimes when you're trying to comment on the other side.
Because if that's the case, then there isn't really any need for this PDF at all, seeing as general interest threads definitely already have their place in our existing PDFs.

Wilbald explained that perfectly.

So please, try to be a little more serious and stop being so dismissive about everything!😠 If you want us to handle all the moderation while you just sit back and enjoy the ride, you've got another thing coming.😁

Lisa Hernandez3 said:Sash, I feel like this is essentially the same deal as MK and ŽK—anyone can start a thread about pretty much anything, and then the community jumps in to discuss it. Though, granted, it isn’t always the most organized chaos—we can't really get into chauvinistic arguments here, as that would be totally against our rules. Still, there are certain topics that just seem to fit perfectly with the whole idea of being "above it all," which I mentioned earlier. My biggest worry is that this might turn into some kind of trashy spectacle—you know, like those endless red carpet coverage shows. But, if it manages to capture the mainstream interest in the States and if the queer scene decides to embrace it, it could actually take off.

Yeah, exactly!🎉

My biggest fear is that this whole thing just turns into some tacky, low-brow spectacle—you know, like those over-the-top Hollywood red carpet shows that feel totally forced. But honestly, if they play their cards right, it could become a massive hit across the country, and I really think the local queer community would embrace it with open arms!

Oh, come on now, don't be so pessimistic! I truly believe we’re going to turn out just fine. We’ll be wonderful, polite, and genuinely tolerant people—just kind, cultured, and incredibly well-mannered!
🙂
Please, just give us our Corner and make sure it stays that way!

Lisa Hernandez3 said:I don't quite follow—how would they be any more mentally stable than the crowd over at the Psychology department? I guess there’s a certain logic to introducing something like a "trans-forum," especially regarding the Women's Corner. Back at my psych department, we recently had a session centered on specific questions about being transgender, and we also had dedicated "corners" for gay topics and analyses of homophobia. And, well, America could probably stomach that, of course. These are usually active, widely read subjects. Topics on feminism could also fall under that umbrella—or maybe even discussions on androgyny. Then there's the whole role-playing aspect on forums—adopting an opposite-gender handle (which isn't very common, though apparently some advanced folks do it). And finally, all that fluff Oprah would dive into—fashion transformations, Saša Broz's secret hairstyles... things like what color underwear you wear, your bedroom setup, or why Danijela Trbović was so irritating to certain people, or why Dražen Ilinčić is almost never annoying to anyone. It would probably generate quite a bit of buzz, both in the media and regionally.

Theoretically speaking, if we actually did this, who on earth would moderate it? image

😁

I think I’ve already mentioned that I tend to view briskpuma23’s take on being transgender through a much more metaphorical lens than the literal definition of the word! To be honest, I actually found that description of it being a subforum for genderless Americans, anti-nationalists, stateless people, and xenophiles absolutely charming.
I honestly feel like we should just leave that whole old North American era out of the conversation entirely, because let's be real—nobody around here in the States cares about that stuff anymore!😬
So, just thinking out loud here—if we were actually looking at this from a purely theoretical standpoint, who on earth would even be tasked with moderating us if it ever came down to it? image

😁

Well, if you really do get to make the choice! 😬I guess I'll just go ahead and take her! I honestly feel like I’m just trying to make sense of things, but if there is any way to approach this with a little more intelligence and a bit more common sense, I am all for it! I mean, her too! I honestly can't help but feel like things have been getting a little bit too intense lately, almost to a point that feels unnecessarily aggressive!Honestly, both of them are just too much for me to handle... but hey, I'm definitely not going to start playing favorites or sucking up to anyone!😠

hollowtrucker77 said:So, from what I’ve gathered so far, the idea is that they’re opening up a subforum where basically anyone can start a thread about whatever random thing pops into their head, and then we just let the forum members descend into total chaos debating it?

That’s pretty much exactly how I figured things out, though I have to admit I completely missed the mark on that very last part! Whatever works for you!Well, who knows? If that wasn't exactly what briskpuma23 was aiming for all along, I might just have to start my own thread to explain how I actually figured this whole thing out!

And hey, if I totally misread what you were saying, @briskpuma23... my bad! I really don't mean to hijack this thread and take over the whole conversation, but honestly, if I could just have a dedicated Women's Corner like this all the time, I would be so incredibly happy! I know I’ve probably mentioned it a dozen times before, but since I'm clearly obsessed, I guess I’ll just say it one more time!🙄

🙂
You're honestly tempting me to act totally ridiculous here.
😍
But I really don't want to go around making a complete fool of myself on purpose.

Is there going to be any word from the staff members who are in charge of setting up the new subforums?
I mean, I am just absolutely, positively, incredibly loving this idea—like, seriously, I would love it so much if we could get a dedicated Women's Corner established... so, please, give us a little hint if there's actually a chance we can make this happen!

rustydrifter10 said:No.

But if you actually believe the administration is going to take a more realistic look at your request for a PDF—one that isn't cluttered with these totally unnecessary counterarguments—just because I'm not here to bicker with you, then fine, I'll stop the discussion right now.

Otherwise, if you ask me, all this extra drama being thrown into the mix just to get a hold of a single PDF seems way more intense than it ever needed to be.

Alright then, thanks! I am more than happy to keep explaining my thoughts for as long as it takes to clear things up.
But if you think the admins might take a more realistic look at your request for a PDF without any (un)founded counterarguments just because I stop arguing with you, then fine, I'll end the discussion.

Honestly, I have absolutely no clue what would actually convince the administration to consider—or better yet, respect—a request, I just really didn't want this to feel like I was intentionally undermining the process.
I am so sorry if I came across as harsh; I honestly thought you were just being sarcastic with me!
Anyway, it seems to me that the approach used here to try and get that PDF is way more intense than it needs to be for this section.

I don't know about that... if I (or even some guy from down the street) tried to start a thread in the General Chat titled something like: Does anyone know where Ivo Sanders finally ended up sitting? with an intro where I'm questioning how much of our hard-earned tax money goes toward paying the salaries of Congress members and journalists while they spend hours obsessing over someone else's chair, only for them to feed us that nonsense in the news constantly and annoy us with stuff that never seems to end...
The moderators in General Chat would, quite rightfully, either:
a.) delete it entirely, with or without a penalty point
b.) move it to Politics, where they’d probably label me left-wing or right-wing almost immediately before locking it down
c.) move it to Business, since I'm technically mentioning money there

That is the kind of thread I'd love to start, I just can't see a place where I could actually host it (without getting banned and still having a decent discussion)!

rustydrifter10 As if I could ever say anything without overthinking it! It’s like my brain just goes into overdrive sometimes, trying to find the perfect way to express myself, only to end up stumbling over my own words in a way that's probably more charmingly awkward than intentional. Anyway, here's what was said:
I mean, honestly, it could totally just be tucked right into the rest of the post! 😁
Honestly, you could just totally ignore that person if you wanted to, or if you're feeling a bit more proactive, you could always just shoot them a quick private message!

I mean, sure, it all fits together in the grand scheme of things, but people just always seem to zero in on that one specific point! Honestly, I just can't—well, I actually won't—just turn a blind eye when someone is asking me direct questions or addressing me personally. I've already written my response, and I'm more than happy to stand by it and say it once more!

Honestly, if someone tries to tell me that my opinion doesn't carry any weight just because I'm a woman, I don't even bother getting into a whole argument with them! It’s just not worth my energy to dive into a debate like that, so I usually just smile and move on.

Well, they aren't actually saying that! I didn't even go so far as to claim that they're saying it—honestly, I suspect they don't even mean it that way. (I am just absolutely obsessed with how that sentence turned out!)
I'm really not trying to sound chauvinistic here... honestly, I'm just throwing up my hands in defeat! I truly don't think I can explain my point any better than I already have in my previous posts, so I'll just leave it at that!

Honestly, if you ask me, the real issue here isn't that PDF file at all—it's actually just a lack of character on that particular forum member's part!

And who else happens to feel differently about all this?

I feel like I have to ask... are you still picking at me over that whole situation back when we were rooting for the Dodgers, or what? Honestly, I’ve got more patience than anyone could possibly expect, but it really isn't okay to act like this. When someone reaches out to the administration to ask for help, it feels pretty terrible when you just dismiss all that hard work by leaning right back into the very thing they're trying so desperately to move past!
Transgender Corner in Feedback & Suggestions ·
rustydrifter10 said:It’s actually incredibly easy to sit down with people like that and walk them through why their whole argument doesn't even hold water.

Well, that’s not exactly how it works... I actually saw a chat over on MK where people are basically just rubber-stamping those entries for the Women's Corner.

I actually just dropped a few posts over there too! 🙂
They didn't actually ban me or anything, they just pulled me aside and told me that my post didn't really fit within the community guidelines here, so they went ahead and deleted it.
Thanks for pointing that out, Khuf! 😘
Thanks so much, Deedy/Mikey, for taking the time to unbox this one for us! 😘

Honestly, I just feel like it’s only polite to answer whenever someone directs a question my way. Even if we’re on completely different pages, or even if I get the distinct impression that someone is being intentionally provocative or trying to take a dig at me, I'm still going to give them an answer. It's just how I operate.

Look, if someone is being rude to you, it’s because they are just a fundamentally rude person—period. It isn't some reaction to you typing something specific or hitting "post" on a comment; their attitude is entirely their own issue, regardless of what you choose to say.

Wait, am I being off topic now? Is it because my little observation—that this whole thing isn't even really the main subject—is somehow serving as an excuse for them to throw even more questions at me?
I dropped a few posts over there too. 🙂
They didn't ban me or anything, they just told me that according to the rules I shouldn't be posting there and then deleted them.
Thanks, Khuf, for pointing that out. 😘
And thanks, Deedy/Mayki, for not banning me! 😘

Aha, so you're one of those people who doesn't bother reading the rules, huh?🙂
Someone is being rude to you simply because they are a rude person, not because you aren't allowed to post there.

Good grief, I honestly feel like I've stepped right into the Twilight Zone here🤣.
I don't think they're being rude specifically because of that... ahhh...😢....😠
feralpilot0 said:Cool. But I think the proposed PDF requires its own specific set of regulations—for reasons that remain somewhat hazy for a group that doesn't even exist in reality...

I know exactly what you mean.
The solution is simple—just put those types on ignore and get back to your business. It works. 😁

Okay, that's definitely one way to go about it (even though, personally, I don't really use those features). But... couldn't there just be a specific corner for things like what briskpuma23 is describing, so that nobody would ever have to ignore anyone else?
Transgender Corner in Feedback & Suggestions ·
feralpilot0 said:But it won't ever run perfectly—in fact, because of the disclaimers, it’ll likely work the exact opposite way.

There will always be the random trolls, the offended types, and the nitpickers—there always are. At the end of the day, the quality of the discussions and the level of moderation? That's entirely up to us, wherever we go. 🤷

Oh boy, I think we are totally talking past each other here....
It wasn't even my intention to feel insulted by that, it's more like I just don't know how to handle it! Like, how am I supposed to respond—and I mean anyone, using this as an example—when someone hits back at me in that specific tone? I honestly have no clue how to carry on a discussion when the "argument" is just of course you'd think that way since you're a woman?
And does anyone seriously believe that just because I tend to lean towards the left, everything I say must be fundamentally flawed or biased?
Transgender Corner in Feedback & Suggestions ·
rustydrifter10 said:Honestly, regardless of which subforum you're on, you can have those talks if you're dealing with a decent interlocutor. If you're talking to someone who’s just going to take shots at you because you're a woman, a leftist, a blonde, or religious... well, there's really no point in even trying to argue with them, is there?

And please don't try telling me that I can find this kind of thing on other boards, because even a superficial glance at, say, Politics, Religion, or the Women's Corner is enough to prove me wrong.

But look, anyone can jump into discussions about politics or religion on the politics and religion boards.
And on MK and the Women's Corner, people can talk about pretty much anything they want.

Of course, everyone still needs to play by the rules.

The arguments that get thrown around constantly on those specific boards—stuff like "you're a man/woman," "you're a leftist/rightist," "you're Christian/Muslim/Jewish," or "you're a Mexican/American/Uzbek"—are, if you'll excuse my language, incredibly obnoxious, totally invalid, and just plain exhausting.

And why on earth would you even want to engage with people who use those kinds of things as their primary arguments? It doesn't matter what subforum it is. On the Women's Corner, you've got singles; over on the US board, it's people who are married; and on the Lifestyle board, it's... well, we all know who that is. 😬
If they're a good conversationalist, they won't throw those cheap shots at you. And if they do, you just ignore them.

Oh, I haven't even gone that far! I wasn't even mentioning those people who actually take shots at me personally. Those folks are a whole different level of difficult! I was just talking about people who use those kinds of logical fallacies in their arguments, and I don't think that necessarily means they’re judging me for, say, being a woman.

Well, anyone can discuss politics or religion on the politics and religion boards.
On MK and Women's Corner, anyone can talk about absolutely anything.
Of course, everyone needs to follow the rules.

Actually, it's not quite like that... I noticed that on MK, there's a certain vibe where women's posts seem to be strictly monitored. In fact, the rules for that entire subforum mention that women don't really have much sway there. I actually read through them before I tried to reply to a thread on the front page once.
And goodness knows, if anyone thinks I'm judging them for that—please, if they want their own little corner, they should have it! If they've had enough of women, then fine; I'm certainly not so rude that I'd start a fight when their own rules basically say they want a little break from us.
Now, I feel like I have to defend myself in advance, because I have a sneaking suspicion someone is going to latch onto this and jump to some totally wrong conclusions. But really, I have nothing against MK or its existence or its rules; I'm just expressing myself here because I think it would be great to establish a similar subforum here.
And why on earth would you want to talk to people who use those things as arguments? Regardless of the subforum.

Honestly, it's just because I feel like it's polite to answer any question someone asks me. Even if I completely disagree with them, or even if I get the impression they're trying to be a bit rude to me, if they ask, I'll give them an answer.

feralpilot0 said:That’s just not true; it's obvious you've only skimmed through these PDFs. Ad hominem attacks are penalized everywhere.

Enyh, I think briskpuma23 was actually talking about moving past gender as a primary trait, not about a lack of meaningful, argued topics—after all, who’s stopping you from starting or encouraging them if they're missing?

Besides, if we stop categorizing people by gender, looks, nationality, orientation, or preferences, what's left for us?

A ghost town of PDFs. 😲

Look, it truly hasn't happened to me even once where someone replies with, "Well, of course you think that since you're a woman/leftist/Martian from Jupiter." And those posts weren't penalized, and honestly, I don't think they should have been, because that would just be pointless on a forum like this.

My whole point was that I thought it would be wonderful to have a subforum where people couldn't care less if I were a Martian from Jupiter while we're busy discussing how much fertilizer a pear seedling needs.

Enyh, I honestly think briskpuma23 was talking about transcending gender as the main point here, rather than saying we shouldn't have meaningful or well-argued topics (I mean, who's going to stop you from starting them if you feel like they're missing?).

It's beautifully put: "To clarify using our usual forum lingo—let's just call this subforum for genderless Americans, anationalists, stateless people, and xenophiles."
Generally speaking, I'm not one to go around opening new threads all the time; I usually only jump in to start one when I'm feeling genuinely stumped by something.

Besides, if we don't divide ourselves up and debate based on things like gender, looks, nationality, orientation, or preferences, what's actually left for us to do?
A PDF of ghosts. 😲

Well, discussing actual topics remains! That could easily become the core reason for the forum's existence in the first place.

Nicholas King said:Look, I'll give you a different angle here 😁: why on earth would you think such a PDF could ever be insulated from that kind of "logic"?

I honestly don't see any way that a PDF (public, just like all the others) could suddenly manage to filter out all that noise in the communication channel—where the absolute pinnacle of discourse and entertainment is basically just "I've got 25 cm, therefore you're an idiot, which means I'm right."

Well, I’m thinking we could just handle it through the subforum rules, much like how every single section here already has its own set of guidelines. Basically, the moderators would be the ones handling the "vaccination" process.
It's just like how, say, some sections ban posts that are nothing but emojis because it's in their specific rulebook, while others don't since they haven't made that rule yet—it would work exactly the same way here.

I just don't see any realistic way for a public thread—like all the others out there—to suddenly clear out all that background noise, especially when the peak of the conversation is usually just people shouting "I'm right and you're an idiot!" over and over again.

Hmm, who knows, I guess I just like to believe that most people actually take a quick second to read the rules of a subforum before they jump in to post! Especially since I imagine the regulars would definitely give them a read once a new thread pops up.
Transgender Corner in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Jacob Foster11 said:I don't see the point of this.

Subforums should be created when there's an actual demand, not just to satisfy some sense of political correctness. If enough threads start popping up on a specific subject, fine. But why open a whole subforum just to have one active thread or a handful of posts that eventually just sit there gathering dust?

Besides, if a topic doesn't fit anywhere else, we already have the "Random" subforum for that.

I honestly feel like—and maybe it’s just me being a bit idealistic here—that the whole point of having these conversations should be that you can actually sit down and have a decent, civil discussion with someone who holds views completely opposite to your own, provided they actually back up those opinions with some solid, legitimate reasoning!
And please, don't you dare try telling me that I could just go find these answers on other subforums, because honestly, even a quick, casual glance through places like Politics, Religion, or the Women's Corner is more than enough to completely change my mind!
Honestly, the arguments people constantly throw around on those subforums—you know, the whole "you're just a man/woman," "leftist/rightist," "Christian/Muslim/Jew," or "Mexican/American/Uzbek" routine—are, if you'll excuse my language, incredibly arrogant, totally invalid, and just plain exhausting to deal with!
What really gets under my skin—and honestly, it’s a little exhausting to think about—is that they actually walk away from these situations convinced that they've said everything perfectly and backed it all up with flawless logic!
So, are we really planning on opening up an entire subforum just to host one active thread or maybe a handful of posts that’ll end up just sitting there gathering digital dust? It feels like we might be creating a whole new empty space just for the sake of it!
If you ever find yourself staring at a topic that just doesn't seem to fit anywhere else on the boards, don't worry—we actually have a dedicated "Random Stuff" section specifically for those oddball threads!

Why on earth would you think I’d ever be empty? Honestly, that's such a funny thought to have! I feel like I've always got so much going on inside my head, bouncing from one idea to the next, so the idea of being "empty" just doesn't quite sit right with me!😕

Honestly, I feel like we probably ought to just start an entirely new thread for this kind of discussion!

And here we go again with more of the same! It honestly feels like there just aren't enough transgender people around to justify having their very own dedicated section on the forum.

Wait, what do you mean by "other answers"? I feel like I might be totally missing something here!
Well, look at that! It seems you’ve decided we’re all totally written off, and now you're trying to double down on that stance at any cost—even though the simple math of the situation is clearly working against you. Just look at what happened after only one single day of this thread being live:
Wow, it looks like we’ve already had seven different people jump into this thread!
I’ve got a little request for the group—would anyone be kind enough to send over that PDF? I'd really appreciate it!
I am having such a silly moment right now, but for some reason, I just cannot get this -3/7 file to convert into a PDF! It is one of those little technical hiccups that makes me laugh at my own struggle, but I am honestly just stuck.
It feels like -1/7 is just totally having a massive misunderstanding!

I don't know—to me, this whole thing is just plain stupid. These five genders you’re bringing up? Total idiocy, if we're being honest—and that PDF wouldn't be worth the paper it's printed on.
Male and female PDFs aren't gendered—it’s just a label. Both men and women write them; it’s simply a PDF where certain male issues get addressed or male-centric topics are discussed.

Honestly, I’ve always looked at being transgender through a bit more of a metaphorical lens! For me, it’s more about that feeling you get when someone posts something online and, instead of actually engaging with the point, people immediately jump down your throat with those tired old clichés like, "Oh, that is such typical male thinking" or "That's just classic female logic." It feels like people try to use those gendered generalizations as some kind of universal trump card to shut down every single discussion, rather than actually having a real conversation!

To be honest, when it comes to most topics, I truly don't mind whether I'm chatting with a man or a woman, though I suppose I'd always be a little more excited to connect with people who share my own vibe!

I'm looking for a minority ruling here, regardless of the general consensus.

And let's be real, the leadership would much rather just bend the situation to their advantage by using some kind of poll that conveniently produces the exact results they're hoping for, wouldn't they?

Is there a corner here for folks who are absolutely obsessed with collecting rabbit droppings?🙄

You're just scrolling through the files of the formal debate page, which apparently seems to have more different modes than actual users left on this forum!
Either join in properly or at least try to be constructive—what did you come here to do, just mock us?
