Why didn't you just throw out a quick poll instead?
I would have totally jumped in on that! Right there in your subforum.
In principle, I really love the whole idea.

I'm just going to say it—sometimes I feel like I’m constantly tripping over my own feet while trying to navigate these complicated discussions, but I really wanted to jump in here! It feels like we’re all circling the same ideas, doesn't it? I might be a little slow on the uptake compared to some of you brilliant folks, but I truly believe there is such a wonderful opportunity for us to find some common ground if we just keep chatting away! kaže:
Oh man, just look at her—I honestly think she’d be a total millionaire in no time if she actually put her mind to it! 😁

Oh, absolutely!😁 I mean, I honestly wouldn't mind if things moved a little slower, but if I actually get a say in the matter... well, I’d definitely pick the fast lane!🤣

Hey there! Well, I guess that's that—I've officially decided against tackling the basement cleanup!

Roger Barrett2 said:The plague of bizarre signatures on Religion continues. Now it’s popped up on Twitter too: "So, does that mean you'd be willing, in the name of your god, to pick up a stone and smash a woman's skull just because she cheated on her husband? Yeah... and I should mention I wouldn't feel an ounce of pity for her, by denni."

It honestly looks like a coordinated effort between certain moderators over at Religion and one specific admin—I genuinely don't grasp the purpose behind these kinds of signatures. What are they trying to achieve?

And I have another question—was denni issued a warning for this post? From what I can gather through my chats with the mods and admins, advocating for murder (regardless of the reason) is a punishable offense and against the rules, which usually results in a strike—just like it would for me. Yet, I don't see any strike issued, and on top of that, BB actually puts that exact statement in her signature? What is going on with you people? Look, I'm just a simple believer, so I'd appreciate some clarification on this whole display of vanity.

Hmm, yeah, I’m starting to feel like I didn't just completely miss the mark on this whole topic, but actually, I was being totally oblivious to the fact that we aren't even playing the same game here at all!
😢

Ugh, that hope... it really deserves one of those old sayings about false starts. Honestly, what a total mess, I feel so silly.🙂

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not saying I disagree with that! It’s just that I also firmly believe anyone can lose their cool and end up being led astray by... well, let's just say lower impulses at any given moment.

I honestly have no clue what the real reason behind his signature looking like that is. My only hope is that it isn't actually a reflection of his personal style, but rather just some weird, isolated incident that happened once.

Roger Barrett2 Asks:
That’s exactly why I stay far away from the whole political circus! I’ve always lived by this little rule of mine where I just try to be straightforward and tell it like it is—though, okay, I suppose I sprinkle in just a tiny bit of wisdom and tact so I don't accidentally start a fight!

Look, I’m really not trying to turn this into some big political debate or anything like that, but honestly, come on!
Try to see things from their perspective for a second! Now, I know this might come off sounding a little bit like I’m sucking up—and honestly, I’ll be the first to admit that's a bit embarrassing to even think about saying—but I really do think it's worth stepping into someone else's shoes for a moment.
Since he’s the admin, it feels like most of those totally unhinged posts end up landing right on his doorstep, especially from people who can't seem to hold back their colorful little insults when they're filing a complaint! It honestly seems like he spends pretty much his entire day dealing with folks who somehow manage to blame him personally for absolutely everything that goes wrong.
It’s honestly kind of like being an MTA driver out there on the streets!
And then you just end up becoming... well, a little bit of a bummer yourself!
So, we end up having to ask him to change his own signature—which, let’s be honest, is entirely up to his own good graces—and then you just go ahead and start throwing around all these imaginary bans!

It doesn't really make much sense, does it?

The real beauty of taking this approach is that there’s absolutely no guesswork involved regarding where I stand with someone or what my actual intentions are! It lets me just let it all out and vent completely, which honestly is such a lifesaver for keeping my own sanity intact and saving my nerves from unnecessary stress.

Are we really going to talk about messing with someone else's nerves? Honestly, if you decide to get under someone's skin, just know that once they start hitting back, there is absolutely no end in sight!

Well, it looks like ego finally went ahead and scrubbed "declared Muslim" from his signature, but that Tyndy guy just won't let it go! He’s still hanging around, just waiting to drop his next hilarious little pearl of wisdom.

Oh, wait! I totally missed that! It looks like there were three separate cheers for Tyndall!🙂

So, you're an admin? If that's the case, you should really be setting the standard instead of acting like this. It feels like a mockery, or maybe just a subtle provocation—I can't quite tell which one it is, but it's definitely being done with a smirk. What happens if everyone starts quoting each other like this? There would be no end to it.

Look, as just your average regular user, I’m officially handing down a permanent ban until you fix that signature—and that goes for both you and ego!

Good grief, were you trained in mining or something?😬 Sending you a big hug!😁

Seriously though, please try to stay patient and keep things civil, even when someone's response or opinion really gets under your skin.🙂
We aren't going to accomplish anything this way.

So what? If you honestly think my personal connections have anything to do with this, you're dead wrong. 😉

Matthew Grant9 I can't even begin to explain what I was thinking when I saw that... honestly, just wild. It’s like people don't realize how much this actually matters. You look at the way things are moving right now and you just have to wonder if anyone's actually paying attention. Probably not. Most people are just scrolling through, looking for the next distraction while everything else shifts under their feet. Anyway, my point being—it's all about the long game, even if it feels chaotic right now. Just my two cents.
Look, if we’re being honest and this whole thing was just some jokes that spiraled way too far out of hand... I mean, after everything that's been said on here, maybe the only thing actually worth doing is for both of you to just change your signatures. Seriously. On a personal level, I'm asking you guys. Please. Just do it.

I mean, I’ll probably be there, just waiting around for whatever ridiculous thing he says next to grace us all. This one is actually kind of my favorite.

Look, since signatures are basically nothing more than a few short lines, taking things out of context is pretty much inevitable at this point. Honestly, I’d go as far as to say it’s practically a tradition on most forums, whether you're looking at local boards or big international ones. It just happens.

Oh boy. I have to say, this is a little disappointing.

I mean, how can you be so incredibly stubborn and contrarian about this specific point while still acting like such a people person?
Could we maybe dial it back just a tiny bit, please? Honestly, it would make things so much smoother for the rest of us if you’d at least give our perspectives a fair shake when you're working through your thoughts.
With an attitude like yours, we’ll never be able to truly engage with you based on signatures like these. And since our underlying intentions are meant to be universally positive, it would be lovely if you could—once again, just in your own head—leave the door open for a little bit of actual dialogue.

And after all the effort we put in, wouldn't it be nice if you could just soften up, even if only for a second?

You’re just being dirty-minded!" or whatever—but seriously, what's even the point of all that? Why does it actually matter if Mirza puts "declared Muslim" in his signature? What's the big deal?

You really ought to check with ego about this. Might be a little awkward or whatever, but honestly, I don't see it as some massive sin. The guy who wrote that quote in his signature was just being himself—he declared his faith, plain and simple. There's nothing fake about that.

Finally, you’ve actually gone and added that little jab to your signature alongside all those Quran verses. It’s basically just a direct shot at Shady—that last sentence pretty much screams, "Hey everyone, look at what Shady doesn't count as violence." Even if they're staying quiet about it, it's totally obvious.

Honestly, messing around in signatures is totally fine if you ask me. They aren't even part of the actual discussion on Reddit, so who cares? It’s legit.

Honestly, Mirzak hasn't even shown up in this thread once! And that quote in Roger Barrett2's signature? He definitely isn't claiming that his view on women being of lesser value is some byproduct of his faith. I actually ended up hunting down this entire discussion because my allergies were driving me absolutely crazy and I needed a distraction! But looking at what he actually said, he doesn't offer a single religious justification for that conclusion; instead, he argues that the reason is simply that women are physically weaker than men, making it strictly a matter of physical strength.

Now, I’m going to try to play it cool here since everyone seems to be moving past this, but I just have to point out that our friend mirzakv is quite clearly—and I mean, let’s be honest here—a man through and through! His username practically screams it, and he even went ahead and made it official right there in his profile. It honestly leaves me scratching my head why Roger Barrett2 is being so provocative by bringing up mirzakv's religion when it's already glaringly obvious that his whole perspective on women is rooted in nothing more than some rather silly, old-fashioned chauvinism!

The real trouble here—and at least that’s how it felt to me when I was scrolling through that other thread—is that my own somewhat clumsy way of putting things feels much closer to the truth than the extra bit about religious affiliation that Roger Barrett2 added to his signature.

Look, I could honestly spend all day trying to explain why both the e-gov signature and yours just aren't appropriate here, but I’ve come to realize there’s really no point in me beating my head against a wall! The truth is—and I say this with a bit of a heavy heart—it feels like you, and quite possibly even Ego too, are doing this on purpose, making these specific choices with total intention.
Look, if we’re admitting that the banter went a little too far this time, I honestly think the only silver lining left after everything that’s been said here is a tiny, desperate hope that I can personally ask you both to please, please just change your signatures. So, there it is—I am officially putting out the plea!
It’s certainly not exactly the most polished or professional application I've ever seen, but hey, what can you do? Life happens!

Ugh, I am seriously about to lose my mind here!😠
I don't think I've ever actually crossed paths with @mirzomkv or @ego on this forum, so maybe it’s not really my place to weigh in... but I just can't help myself, I'm absolutely itching to say something!🙂

At the end of the day, I just wanted to point out that in much the same way that @mirzomkv's comments offend one specific group of people (women), @ego's signature does the exact same thing to another group (Muslim Americans).
It’s honestly the same kid, the same level of maturity, and sometimes they even use the exact same rhetoric... it’s just the subjects of their sentences that keep switching around.

And let's be real, what they're doing is equally unfair, tacky, and just plain rude. All these insults actually say way more about who they are than the people they're trying to target. Even if you throw five pairs of gloves at them, being insulting is still being insulting! It would probably serve them better if they started looking at people as individuals instead of just grouping everyone under labels like "women" or "Muslims."

In a civilized society, this kind of behavior is just incredibly grating, and there, I said it!😁

Since we don't exactly have a room full of professional coin collectors here, it would be super helpful if you could actually explain what UNC means! You can even just drop a link if you aren't feeling particularly chatty today.
I did a quick Google search—well, I skimmed the first three pages before my brain decided it had done enough work for one day—and while it mentioned something about quality, it didn't say a single thing about what that quality actually looks like in practice.

it's just a one-time visit to an orphanage with some nice gifts... but it's all done for self-promotion. you know, taking photos with the kids and getting a feature in the local paper saying "so-and-so did a wonderful thing."

Is something like that actually immoral?

Yes.
Wouldn't it be better to just not visit them at all and bring nothing?

Not really.
Well, look... those kids truly need the help.
If someone from CNN donates money, their time, or supplies and just keeps it quiet—that’s genuine charity, and they've done a good deed.
But if that same person from CNN gives something only on the condition that they get some publicity out of it, then we aren't really talking about charity anymore; we're talking about marketing. Now, marketing isn't inherently evil, but let's call a spade a spade, right?
nimbleorca61 said:But what exactly makes what was described above immoral?

It's immoral because, based on how it's presented in the opening post, it's a lie.
Who does it actually hurt?

It hurts the public—specifically, the people who read that story in the news and end up with a totally distorted view of who that person really is.

Oh, who knows for sure?
I actually stumbled upon them, just sitting there in a little toiletry bag alongside some HRD stuff, a few old American bills covered in way too many zeros, some German marks and pfennigs, and those absolute nuisances—those $8.25 coins.
I always feel a little guilty spending those last ones. Honestly, what kind of maniac comes up with something like that? I swear! 🙂 I have $108 in quarters, but it feels like I don't even have anything at all.

So, anyway, I found them, and that was just my first attempt (knowing me, there’s probably three times as much more hiding in various corners of the apartment and the basement), specifically twenty-two of those one-cent coins from 1993.
Now I’m dying to know: is there any way I can actually make a profit here, or am I just wasting my breath on a lost cause?
I mean... I really don't feel like tackling the basement unless it's an absolute emergency. I just finished cleaning it out last year, and I'm definitely not ready to do it again so soon! 😉

Could you please repeat that first message for me—you know, the one where I hit my storage limit... blah, blah, blah.
Anyway... since you're feeling so incredibly generous and helpful today🙂👋, I actually have one more silly little question for you😢.
Well, since the opportunity has presented itself...
So, here's what I'm wondering: once I finally clear out my inbox enough space, will I actually receive that message I tried to send to myself? Or would you be the one getting this message from the start of my post? Basically, does it stay saved somewhere, kind of like how things work on an iPhone?

I mean, I know I could easily check by deleting some messages right now to see if it delivers, but honestly, I'd much rather just leave my PM folder completely stuffed.
Besides, most of the "difficult" cases usually end up sliding into my DMs anyway😁, so having a full inbox would actually be a pretty genius way to dodge them!

Thanks again for the help, because I finally figured everything out! I came up with a brand new, super effective experiment to test this theory.😵 I was poking around my own profile just now and realized there's actually an option to send a PM to myself, just like you would to anyone else on the site. So, I decided to try sending one to myself, and this popped up:
The following errors occurred with your submission:

1. You have reached your stored private message quota and cannot send any further messages until space has been created.
2. Matthew Grant9 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

So, if anyone else out there is currently wasting their time on silly little troubleshooting experiments like I am...
It turns out you can't send them OR receive them once you're at the limit.😛

Well, you guys are really something else.😢
I’m just asking nicely here,
Matthew Grant9 said:Well, there’s just a little bit of everything to go around... honestly, though, it’s enough to make you want to throw the whole damn lunchbox away!😲

Is that some kind of moderator superpower I wasn't aware of?😍

I honestly find myself wondering, what kind of special treatment are the admins actually getting to make their lives easier?🤔

I honestly don't even want to touch that whole situation regarding the copy-pasting and the moderator antics—I'd rather just stay completely silent on it!🙂

So, I was just sitting here thinking about something else entirely! I've actually been wondering about something completely different—how is everything going? I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but here we go! Is that actually possible? I mean, seriously, could that really be happening?😕 Is that just a fluke, or is this some kind of classic, recurring glitch on the forum?

Look at this—they’re claiming a capacity of only 75 messages, which honestly feels like way too little for me! I’m definitely not the type of person who goes around deleting things unless they're absolutely overflowing, so I usually just let them pile up until the whole thing hits a breaking point. Seriously, who on earth would actually force me to sit there and manually clear out over 200 messages all at once? That sounds like a total nightmare!

But absolutely nobody is stepping up to answer me.
First, there was that misunderstanding with the moderator, which we somehow managed to smooth over, but still, zero response from her.😢
Then, another mod tries to jump in and disrupt the peace—maybe they're just feeling a bit jealous?—but again, nothing but silence from them too.😢😢
Then the super-mod shows up, and I actually start feeling hopeful, but apparently, he couldn't care less about replying.🙂 It seems like he'd rather the moderator and I just... keep entertaining each other instead.😲

So, I’ve been working hard at (not) deleting my messages, and I finally managed to hit 75 the other day. I figured, since the mods don't seem to give a tiny bit of a damn about my question, I'll just check for myself if I can push past 75.
I really want to, honestly!🙂
But my theory is full of holes, like a worn-out old sweater.🙂
How am I supposed to know right now if the reason my inbox stopped filling up at 75 is because that's actually the maximum limit, or if it's because the user in the link above messed up the quoting system, or if it's simply because nobody has sent me a message at all?

Management, could I please get an answer, even if it takes another twenty-two😠 days? Please, show a little empathy; I tried to figure it out on my own, but my little experiment totally fell apart.

quietdriver said:Of course I'm not advocating for being insensitive, and besides, the moderators would definitely step in if things crossed the line of good taste.

Honestly, just look at the recent flooding and today's news about the Democratic Party planes crashing—those are perfect examples of why we really need a dedicated sub-forum like this.

I mean, I suppose I can see where you're coming from regarding the floods, though if I'm being honest, I actually thought the media did a pretty decent job keeping everyone informed.
But I'm a little lost on your take regarding the Democratic Party jets... look, at the moment you're writing this, it hasn't even been four full hours since the accident happened! Whether by pure coincidence or because someone was already on the scene, what is it you're looking for? A list of names? To know if there were fatalities? I just don't quite get it...
You certainly can't know the specific details or the actual cause of an accident that quickly, since something like that requires a full investigation, forensic reports, and all sorts of official procedures....
So, it basically boils down to wanting names and knowing if anyone died, and how many, only four hours after the crash.
Have you considered that these people have families who might not have even been notified yet? It’s not like we have thousands of pilots and we can just assume every spouse, parent, or child has already gone through that agonizing wait, or that they've all received updates by now, but we still need a place for discussion and details here on the Forum.
I'm truly sorry, because I actually loved your initial idea, but discussing the Democratic Party incidents falls right into the category I mentioned in my previous post.
