I also want to extend my thanks to the admins for putting in the work to get this issue sorted out. ☕

gentlehound9 said:Why is everyone fixated on the Reddit threads when we’re actually complaining about the lack of moderation across this entire sub-forum? Yes, I agree, it's a shame those specific threads aren't there, but I'm even more disappointed that the whole section is left completely unmoderated and neglected.

What slywolf45 wrote regarding the attempts to moderate the Trash section—sure, that happened, but that was ages ago. For several months now, the entire sub-forum hasn't seen any real moderation at all, and that is the core issue here!

Also, looking back, whenever Azriela got a bit more active on the PDF a few months ago, the whole place would suddenly liven up.

Then Simple stepped in and... nothing. No moderation, no substance. She brought it to the state it's in today.

Simple, how many PDFs have you actually opened since becoming a moderator on Reddit? How much have you actually contributed to the discussions? I've only ever seen you in the chat thread...

Look, you don't need three moderators over there. You just need one person who can spare ten minutes a day to actually clean things up. Do that every single day and—voila—you have a maintained PDF.

Right now, none of the moderators give a damn. Simple proved her entire "brilliance" by just deleting the thread.

It’s like when my mom tells me to clean my room—I’d honestly rather just set the whole thing on fire. The room is a disaster, and frankly, she won't be bothering me about it anymore once it's ash. 😕

If you guys aren't capable of moderating a few threads and some posts, then just hand the job over to someone else.

You know what, it doesn't matter. Just wipe the threads—delete the entire PDF too.

The quality content on Reddit died out long ago anyway, and it’s clear that those of us who actually put in the effort were just wasting our time.

It’s pathetic that you didn't take this as constructive criticism—that you, as moderators, actually have the power to shift the atmosphere on the PDF—and instead took it as a personal attack. How many members does Reddit even have left? Five?

Kowa, you’re still over here bragging about how you can't even moderate eight out of twelve posts... sometimes it's better to just stay quiet.

I mean, let's be real—kings always have their own scribes. ☕

What are we even fighting about now? Seriously—we're all getting worked up over deleting a thread that’s been absolute trash for ages and was basically dancing on the edge of the rules anyway. Honestly, what a waste of energy.

So, regarding everything that’s been going down over on Reddit lately—let’s do a little honesty check, shall we? I want everyone to go ahead and race over to their own post history. Put your hand on your heart—or your chest, whatever's bigger—and be real with yourselves: looking back at the last few months, how many of those posts were actually meaningful contributions to the conversation, and how many were just straight-up trolling or mindless rambling? Surprised by your own tally? I thought so.

What dead accounts? What was supposed to be banned—well, it got banned. If we were actually going by the rules, out of 12 new posts every single day—which is a pretty respectable number, don't you think?—at least 8 of them would get tossed in the trash for being off-topic. That includes the old-timers who are supposedly full of a grain of wisdom, but let’s be real—they’re just trolling, just like always.

If the whole point of this entire circus is just to give someone a blacked-out username because they’re too chicken to face finals week—or maybe they just don't have anything better to do with their lives—then you really shouldn't have messed with my zen in the first place.

The king had spoken. Haugh.

I think it’s perfectly clear to the admins now just how much effort the moderators actually put in over there. ☕

Regarding how many threads I actually have active—I only have one single thread open on the entire site, which was over at Help Forum. I’m just not the type to go around opening threads, and this certainly isn't my first rodeo on an online community.

Secondly, in my opinion, someone who fails to see the significance of a Reddit thread regarding the Trash pdf cannot possibly be a moderator. Sure, those stepping into roles there right now don't grasp what Trash is all about, but that is precisely why you moderators exist—to guide them.

I didn't understand the concept of Trash at the start either, until kowa sat me down with a few boxes—three pages worth of boxes, to be precise—and taught me.

And no, I couldn't care less about what kind of day you had, nor does it matter what my day was like. What matters is that your personal mood shouldn't dictate your moderation... yet you've proven the exact opposite.

I feel bad about the state of this Reddit subforum because it really used to be a great space; I truly hope they clean up the clutter and bring it back to its former glory.

There is a specific reporting function for a reason.
Users shouldn't try to act as moderators, regardless of how qualified they think they are for the role.
Personally, I find posts that don't belong here just as irritating as the posts that call them out.

If you want to complain about the moderation team, there's a formal channel for that. You shouldn't do it in random threads, as that ruins the quality of those discussions just as much as the posts you're complaining about.
The only thing I don't understand is why these public call-outs aren't being penalized themselves. 🤷

Up until now, we handled these issues internally—hoping the moderators would actually listen.

This time, however, Simple took things far too personally. She interpreted feedback as a direct attack on her rather than her moderation style... effectively digging her own grave as a moderator by deleting those two threads.

The line has been crossed. We are calling on the admins to step in. First order of business: remove Simple File from the Reddit moderation team.

Doesn't matter. Look, is it really impossible to find mods on this entire site who would actually deal with this thread? Why does the Politics sub have five moderators (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that specific PDF), while Reddit, which is its own special case, can't manage to have at least three people looking after it?

There are already two who do absolutely nothing. ☕

Let's be honest... without its main thread, this whole subreddit is basically pointless. 🤷

The mods should have just locked the thread instead of nuking it; now all those great posts that lived there are just gone forever.

I’ll admit the quality on this thread—and honestly, a few others on Reddit lately—has definitely taken a nosedive. But deleting everything feels overkill; a simple lock would have done the trick.😢

No, locking her wasn't the move—she should have been moderated instead. She isn't lost forever... she’s probably just sitting in the trash.

It shouldn't have been locked—certainly not deleted. All that was needed was some basic moderation. People who don't grasp what constitutes junk content should simply be given a warning—yellow or red cards, if you will—and directed toward the pinned thread defining our community standards...

I assume that would be far too much work... ☕

gentlehound9 said:It was basically just me and Kate Foster12 keeping it afloat. We were essentially moderating without any actual tools, manually stepping in to tell people stuff didn't belong there or reminding them to use quotes properly since the actual mods weren't doing their jobs.
The admins—well, until we called them out—had basically just checked out from the entire subforum. They let it turn into a total wasteland instead of actually enforcing the rules.

To add to my earlier point—when we actually tried to warn people, they just laughed in our faces. I mean, if the moderators don't give a damn, why should we bother wasting our breath...

Oh sure, deleting that thread on Reddit was a stroke of pure genius from you. Truly. 🙏

That was easily one of the most legendary threads on this entire site—and you just wiped it out. Honestly, you should just step down as a moderator yourself... before you cause any more damage.

As one of the drivers behind this whole movement, along with gentlehound9, I have to agree. It feels like ever since Princess Leia started venting here on the sub, the admin hasn't handed out a single ban.

The main thread on Reddit just got shut down—and why? Because they can’t be bothered to moderate.

Look, I have nothing against you personally, but locking this thread is probably the only thing you've actually moderated on Reddit since you took the job. Don't get me wrong—I like you as a user, you're great for joking around in the chat—but as a moderator, you either don't have the time or you're too afraid to actually moderate.

The admin is a case of his own. He’s either way too strict or far too lenient. He can't seem to find the middle ground. 🤷

Let's be real: Reddit isn't some massive, unmanageable platform; it can be handled with maybe ten minutes of attention a day. None of us are asking for moderators to lurk there 24/7, but if someone just cleared out the garbage once a day, people wouldn't be leaving in droves.

There are people I used to see on that board all the time who have completely vanished now.

Regarding that other thread, it's a shame it was closed, but honestly, it had everything in it except for actual quality content.

What we’re demanding is simple: either the mods start putting in a bit more effort to maintain the sub, or they bring in new moderators who actually know how to do the job.
MasterChef thread and moderation are the same in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’d love to actually follow the recipes, but the reality is they barely show any actual cooking. It shouldn't be about fifty different people making a couple of comments here and there—it should be about showing what's being made and how...

It’s pretty ridiculous to police spoilers when CNN and all those gossip sites are practically drowning in them. 🤷

So, what I do—avoiding trailers before and after the show, staying away from clickbait sites, not even picking up a copy of People—it’s all for nothing. Because the second I decide to hop on a forum to discuss an episode, I’m immediately at risk of seeing things like "he's definitely going home tomorrow," "they're cooking pork next time, it'll be great," or "this celebrity guest is appearing."

Is the actual show really so dull that you can only ever talk about what hasn't happened yet?

Honestly—if you can handle the pain without reaching for a pill—then it isn't actually hitting you that hard.

melloworca6 said:I feel a little better now. Honestly, I thought I was some kind of freak—the only one who gets uterine cramps and intestinal spasms at the exact same time. At this point, I can’t even tell which hurts more: my uterus or my gut.

Believe me, you've got it worse because the whole abdomen just goes into revolt. And no, having less volume doesn't make intestinal cramping any easier 😁. The uterine contractions trigger the bowel spasms, so you end up with these perfectly synchronized cramps all over your stomach. And

For me, it’s just my ovaries. Though, the whole reason I switched to the pill was because of the pain in my upper abdomen every single day leading up to my period. It got so bad I couldn't even catch my breath—ended up at the ER at 6 AM on a Sunday for tests and everything. They told me it was all gynecological issues.

My intestines don't cramp, but on the first day of my period, it feels like I swallowed a liter of Pepto-Bismol...

Personally, I take them with food because I’ve heard Voltaren (and Ketonal) can be rough on the stomach. Good grief—I only take them once a month. It’s not like I’m popping them every single day like candy. A couple of days of use isn't going to wreck my system...

My gynecologist mentioned that women with a uterus tilted to the right tend to have more painful periods—didn't bother explaining the science behind it, and honestly, I didn't ask either, since mine isn't tilted that way.

I just have a natural predisposition for painful cycles. Yay. ☕
