I feel like these lap times are partially—not entirely, obviously—just a byproduct of how long this track actually is. I mean, we’re looking at nearly 2-minute laps here, while most other tracks average around 1:30. Because the laps are so long, any tiny gap between the cars gets magnified way more than usual. In my book, the actual spread between the top 10 drivers tomorrow during the race is gonna be much tighter than what people are predicting based on these qualifying results. That said, it looks to me like Scuderia Ferrari is sitting ahead of both McLaren Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas, and honestly, I haven't got a clue where Red Bull Racing stands. 🤷
Look, briskhound76, those Silver Arrows aren't looking nearly convincing to me right now. Jenson Button barely scraped into 10th, and Lewis Hamilton? He’s sitting way down in 6th. Not exactly what you'd expect from them.
The thing that's eating at me after that first stint is this: what kind of logic were they using over at Red Bull Racing to decide on keeping Alguersuar? Seriously, the guy is playing at the same level as Nelshin and Nakajima... 🤷
Everyone’s been asking that since his very first race ☕
And when you look back at how things went down (after a quick Google search, obviously) late last July, the whole situation gets even weirder
Haustor is my absolute favorite, hands down. Bruce Springsteen takes the silver medal, and then I’d probably pick Paramount Pictures and the Grateful Dead from the rest of the bunch.
I’m looking at this shot and honestly, there’s only one guy that comes to mind—Božo Sušec. ☕ It’s actually wild how many conspiracies he manages to cook up for himself, especially when handball or football are involved. 🤦
And yeah, while I’m at it, let Roger Allen3 remind me about last night. I was watching an Atlanta game, and from where I'm sitting, it’s absolutely insane how much more physical things have gotten. Specifically at the pivot position. You expect sports to evolve over time, right? Like, you know handball is gonna get rougher and potentially more dangerous, but the gap is just massive. I didn't see that coming. Back in the day, Jović would just stand there on the line and nobody would even touch him, let alone hit him. But today? After the whistle blows, Vori and Balić look like they just stepped out of a heavyweight boxing match.
