Look, everything’s cool, we’re just talking here, I guess. I just really want people to wrap their heads around the fact that there's basically zero point in a mail carrier stealing stuff.😉
Red, swollen eyelid in Health ·
So, I’m noticing that my entire upper left eyelid is looking pretty red, and I guess I have this slight feeling like it's a bit swollen too... does anyone have any idea what might be causing that?
steelwolf3 said:I swear, dealing with the USPS is such a massive headache whenever I actually need something. It feels like every single worker just makes up their own little rules and pricing on the fly. And now, for the second time, a standard envelope containing some baby coupons I was waiting for just never showed up. Honestly, if I even tried to ask where it went, I know I wouldn't get a straight answer from anyone. I’m seriously starting to wonder why my mail only seems to arrive when I pay for certified shipping... maybe they figure it's worth the extra effort because the postage is higher, or maybe they just think it's easier to pocket coupons when the shipping is cheap. 🙂🙂
...I have to head down to the post office tomorrow and honestly, I’m already at the point where I want to start pulling my hair out.

And who exactly is doing the stealing? The mail carrier? What is a mailman going to do with your little coupons?? Maybe you just have neighbors with sticky fingers.
Melissa Morgan77 said:Why would I bother calling them? I’ve literally walked into the local USPS office every single time just to ask, and they never have anything useful to say or any actual help regarding where my regular mail went.🙄 Neither for me nor for whoever was supposed to receive it—even when the situation was flipped the other way around.
I mean, I know for a fact I wrote the address perfectly clearly and correctly, right? 🙄 And apparently, the letter was supposedly "on its way." 🙄

Honestly, I don't even know what to tell you guys. I guess I just find it hard to believe someone is actually out there stealing letters, especially someone working at the post office. Maybe you just have neighbors with really long fingers or something.😁
Melissa Morgan77 said:I actually tried doing something pretty much identical to this recently and it never showed up. (It was just one of those lost letters that isn't exactly life-changing, I guess. 🙂 I am definitely never sending anything without tracking again, especially when it's important stuff. Anyway, good luck with it, obviously.🙂
Honestly, you see a ton of girls complaining about this exact same issue on Poshmark or Depop.

But seriously, why don't you just call USPS or something? I've sent stuff through regular snail mail plenty of times and everything has always arrived just fine...🙄
silvermoose57 said:I dropped a letter in the mail around noon last Friday, but the thing is, I just sent it via regular first-class mail instead of certified. I made sure to write out the recipient's full name, the university address, the street, zip code, and city... everything was clearly laid out. I'm just low-key freaking out that it might get lost, because I've been reading all over these forums that official letters get lost easiest when they aren't tracked. Anyway, I mailed it from San Diego to New York—is there any chance it actually arrived today, Monday, if I sent it Friday? Or am I probably waiting until tomorrow?

Look, mail doesn't just vanish into thin air that easily, so don't sweat it too much. It'll show up.😉
Hannah Ortiz90;35936673 said:I checked that info too (but obviously it was a waste of time)—apparently, if someone isn't home, the mail carrier is supposed to come by twice a day (morning and afternoon) for the next five days as long as the package stays at the local post office.

hehehe🤣 okay, sorry, but I honestly have no clue who on earth would be expected to hand-deliver a package to your doorstep twice a day for five straight days????🙂🙂 🙂 Seriously though, I don't know where you heard that, but you definitely misread the situation. A mail carrier doesn't just circle one single address all week acting like they're working exclusively for you.😂 😍 😁
Lisa Vaughn21 said:Is there any way to get it delivered on the same day, like within just a few hours? 😢

Maybe try HP Express; I'm pretty sure they can pull that off if you need it fast.😉
electriccrane52 said:Can I list a minor—like someone between 14 and 18—as the recipient on this?

Yeah, you can totally do that.😉
I mean, it should probably show up tomorrow. There’s just no way it’s getting here any sooner than that, I guess.
Look, I’m telling you straight up, if the package isn't some massive beast, it should be under a pound. Just weigh the damn thing and see if it hits that mark. I mean, even USPS carriers aren't pack mules; they shouldn't have to lug around thirty separate one-pound boxes just because someone can't be bothered to consolidate.😢
It really all comes down to how big and heavy the package is... I mean, there's no way a FedEx driver is just gonna be lugging around massive, oversized boxes or anything weighing over a couple of pounds in their hands...
wiredpilot2 said:How on earth does the post office let a letter arrive in such a state that if I even breathed on it—not literally, obviously—the whole thing pops open and the stamp is basically hanging on by a thread? 🙄

I mean, out of a billion pieces of mail, one of them is bound to have a crappy seal.🙂
Melissa Phillips4 said:Look, I actually went in there this past Friday.🤷
And honestly? They didn't say a single word to me about it.

I guess maybe that rule only applies to packages being sent within the US, since I was shipping stuff internationally. It’s possible they don't charge that extra fee for overseas shipments.🤷

hmmm, let me put it this way... every local post office gets handed a specific batch of stamps, right? So they just keep using them until they run out. Which means, it's actually pretty easy for your local branch to have already burned through their whole supply.🙂
God, this is just😁😁 absolute garbage😛
Betty Taylor14 said:I’d honestly suggest anyone using ExxonMobil services to double-check their receipts at the USPS every single time. I just had this weird situation where a guy who bought a PC cooler from me reached out to let me know I hadn't actually sent it COD (cash on delivery), so he shouldn't have been charged anything. Luckily, he’s a decent human being and was cool enough to give me a heads-up.
I mean, I looked at the receipt for the package—the actual shipment—and I distinctly remember circling the COD option and clearly writing down the amount. But maybe the lady working the counter at the post office that day just missed it or misread it, and they ended up charging me for the wrong service. And get this: the receipt says it was a package drop-off at the local post office for under 2 lbs, yet they actually delivered it right to his door.
So yeah, just watch your back so you don't end up in the same mess I did. Not everyone is going to be as honest as my buyer was about pointing out the mistake. 🙂

Did you fill out the money order? Like, did you write it on the envelope?😳the COD amount?
The whole point of choosing signature confirmation is that the recipient actually has to sign for it, which gives you some kind of actual proof that the package made it to its destination instead of just vanishing into thin air somewhere in the suburbs.
Ryan Martin70 said:I've got a question about sending stuff COD (cash on delivery). Like, once I go to the post office, drop off the package, and they send it out... does the recipient have to pay the mail carrier before I actually see any of that money? Or do they hand me the cash right when I'm handing over the package at the counter? Also, how much does shipping usually run?

So, basically, once the recipient pays the mail carrier, that carrier takes the cash back to the post office. Then the post office processes everything and sends the funds through their system, and eventually, another carrier—or maybe a check/direct deposit—gets that money to you.🙂
As for the shipping cost, it really just depends on how heavy the damn thing is.🙂
Ronald Rodriguez13 said:So, I actually sent them a pretty scathing email today... honestly, this is just ridiculous at this point. This is already my second package to just vanish into thin air, you know? It’s like I’m trying to ship stuff to the middle of nowhere instead of just down the street. Things are just disappearing. Either the USPS doesn't deliver it, or they just send it back to me without even bothering to leave a notice that it arrived. And the worst part? I’m basically there almost every single day asking questions. Like, who is actually running this place? It makes zero sense anymore. 😠

Just double-check the address—your own, someone else's, house numbers, whatever—or maybe just have a quick chat with your local mail carrier.
Chloe Brooks86 said:So, I finally got that yellow slip today for a package that needs COD. It’s some textbooks I ordered (7 of them, actually), and the girl at the service counter told me she checked, and the shipping was supposed to be $9.25. So, adding everything up including the shipping, I thought it would come to $54, but this yellow slip is telling me I have to pay $59. I'm kind of wondering where that extra $4.75 is coming from?

$4.75 it's probably just those so-called return costs sent back to the sender, or basically just transaction fees
