velvetwalker23 said:Then please, by all means, explain to me where all these packages are actually vanishing to, since you’re clearly such a perfect example of a polite postal worker (not that I’ve ever met one, and honestly, I don't see any on this forum either) 🙂
I didn't say they were stealing letters, I meant packages... obviously nobody is out there stealing letters, who cares about paper? That’s why the letters show up, but the actual packages just disappear

I don't know, honestly, I ship stuff every single day and everything always reaches me 🙂 🤣
Maybe your neighbors are stealing them 😉

Okay, look, the surcharges are fine... but then you have to ask if anyone actually wants to participate in this. It's not like I have a problem paying an extra couple of bucks, but it becomes an issue when it piles up because this "solidarity" thing only lasts a week and I have several shipments coming in every single day... so hold on a second??
At this rate, am I going to end up getting hit with some random surcharge $17 based on that logic?
Besides, prices are already high enough as it is for a standard shipment anyway, lol... so if the USPS is being so "charitable," maybe they should just pull from their own pockets to fund their little campaigns!

That's just the law the government set down; the Postal Service didn't just decide on a "week of solidarity" on their own 😉
velvetwalker23 said:If you actually have some solid recommendations, I guess people might bother looking into it, but when it comes down to the actual shipping? They couldn't care less. Honestly, they just don't give a damn once the deal is done.
This is such total nonsense. I mean, seriously? Whether you sent it via standard shipping or went with the tracked, recommended option—you paid for that service and you sent the damn package. It’s not that complicated. I guess I really need to get this sorted out. Look, I don't know... isn't it just a little weird how it’s always the basic, everyday packages that seem to vanish into thin air? And let's be real—they aren't just "getting lost." They're being swiped. It feels like people know exactly what they're doing; they realize if there isn't a signature required, you're basically left high and dry with zero recourse. I mean, isn't it always recommended that these things should arrive safely, but in reality, does that actually happen? Not usually. I guess I'm just looking for someone to give me a better explanation than "it's just bad luck," because something feels seriously off here. 🙄

So, I was at the post office earlier today, right? And this woman there has the nerve to charge me like six bucks and some change... honestly, that's basically what I'd spend on a week's worth of Red Cross donations. It’s just ridiculous. 😕 Alright, seriously, what is their problem with me? Like, is it not enough that their prices are already absolutely insane? I mean, they’re already through the roof, so why am I being singled out? It’s just ridiculous.
I mean, seriously, does anyone know if there’s actually any other way to ship stuff besides the USPS? Because what they're doing right now is straight-up evil. It’s just pure, unadulterated garbage. I guess I'm just venting, but man, it's frustrating.

And who exactly do you think is doing the stealing???!! Seriously, give me a break. I mean, I guess if you're looking for someone to point a finger at, you could throw a dart at a map, but honestly, it feels like everyone's just shouting accusations without actually having a clue what's going on. It’s all just noise at this point, isn't it? Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I don't see any real proof behind half these claims. Just my two cents, though.
I mean, seriously, why on earth would anyone even think about stealing someone's mail??? It’s just pure, unadulterated stupidity. I don't know, maybe it's just a lack of basic common sense, but honestly, it's like saying it's okay for bankers to rob banks or doctors to steal blood or something equally insane... hello? We have a job to do here! Our entire purpose is to deliver the mail, plain and simple. It makes zero sense.
And regarding those Red Cross drives—they run a few times a year, and honestly, you're looking at like, what, maybe $0.25 per shipment? Just pay the fee and stop whining about it!
Olivia Green46 said:Yeah, honestly, that’s exactly why I never use standard snail mail. It just becomes this huge headache later on—like, did she actually send the thing or not? And if she didn't, she’s got zero proof to back her up. I don't know, I guess I just have this constant anxiety about stuff like that. 😳

🤷☕

And that's really the heart of the whole issue...
Who's out here claiming it was a girl who sent it?😉
Olivia Nelson37 said:I’m honestly starting to think FedEx is way more reliable than UPS!

That is just plain stupid, you are completely wrong here...
If you include the return shipping, I guess you’re looking at roughly $12😉. That should be a safe bet,

urbangardener0 said:😂😂...man, look at that price. I mean, is it really such a tiny detail or 🙂🙂, I remember back in the day sending some stuff through the USPS using those Zap-ov money orders, thinking the cash would hit my account within 24 hours of them picking up the package. Then some rude clerk at the post office tells me it takes three days because they "have to process it" 😂😂😂. Look, we're talking about minimizing both time and the amount of cash wasted at the post office here, not some petty pennies, so 🤣

I don't think the cost is actually that bad...
urbangardener0 said:I think they call it "Priority" or "Overnight" or something like that now, so 🤷

The mailman should bring you the cash in about 3 to 5 days since a COD shipment is basically treated like any other package. Oh, and just a heads up—if the recipient pays a COD amount like, say, $167, they’re also gonna be on the hook for the shipping fee, which is usually around 2% of the total value. That’s because the USPS charges a bit extra to handle the transfer of those funds from them back to you... just wanted to clear that up so there's no confusion later 🙂

there actually is an option where the money gets delivered by the next business day😉
Shipping mail overseas in Miscellaneous ·
I don't know, honestly, especially with how things are going lately, but I guess my best bet is that standard mail usually takes about 7 to 12 days to show up, while certified stuff might get there a little faster than that.

Standard mail...$2.25 😉
She isn't obligated to take on anything she doesn't want to🙂
I mean, if she just tells them she’s refusing to accept it, then the whole thing just goes right back to where it started. Honestly, it shouldn't be an issue at all, I guess.
Chloe Brooks86 said:Honestly, that's some solid advice right there. I definitely wouldn't have thought of that, especially since we've been seeing way more of those unsealed shipments lately.

If you just taped them down better, there wouldn't be an issue, I guess.😉
Jamie Johnson40 said:So I've got a question. I sent off a tracksuit via certified mail with COD, right? But this idiot refused to accept it—or honestly, she just flat-out rejected the delivery 😕 because the envelope looks like it was already tampered with 😲 so now, I'm wondering if there's any way to report this or file a formal complaint about it 🤷

Of course you can.😉

Red, swollen eyelid in Health ·
Thanks, man. So, the diagnosis is basically some inflammation on my upper eyelid... they've got me on ointments and eye drops for now. Honestly, I spend most of my workday out on my Harley, so I'm thinking the wind exposure is probably what did it...
Seriously, you guys need to go grab your receipts and actually look at what they’re charging you. If anything looks off, don't just sit there—react immediately.
steelwolf3 said:There is absolutely no way my neighbors are stealing anything because I live around older folks who are always looking out for me and my husband. Plus, the little mailbox is deep and stays locked. My sister-in-law always tucks a five or ten dollar bill inside during the holidays when she drops off a card, and there's just no way someone could grab that without us noticing. But whenever she shows up empty-handed, it’s like money magically appears in there... I honestly don't get how they find the cash left inside.😕 🤷

I'm guessing you're from a small town somewhere, maybe like rural Ohio or something? Since it's such a tight-knit area, why don't you just head down to the local Post Office and actually ask them what's going on?😉
