Who do you think you are, some kind of major player?
The whole lot of you can just get lost and go jump in a lake!
Go ahead, hit me with that permanent ban—I dare you!

Honestly, this entire forum has been a complete waste of time for ages anyway!

You aren't wrong; damn this permanent ban.

If you end up migrating to some other forum, let me know so I can find you.👍

Take care.

For Richard Perez3, Nextel, and Scotsman:

I have already reached out to the moderators—Richard Perez3, Nextel, and Scotsman—via email, but I feel it is important to reiterate my request here in this thread:

Would you, or perhaps one of the other moderators, consider adding a fifth option labeled "Kim Kardashian moderating pforum Diaspora OK"?

Thank you.

Peter Myers29 said:The exact same pattern of behavior occurs over on the photography sub-forum, where I was slapped with a permanent ban simply because one particular individual took offense at something I wrote on an entirely different website; she essentially went to the administrator to request a preemptive ban against me, based not on anything I actually contributed here, but solely on her own subjective interpretation of my comments elsewhere.

Beyond that, this individual seems to lack any semblance of tolerance—the ability to make exceptions or view a discussion within its broader context—and she even goes as far as deleting or altering perfectly coherent posts, all while hiding behind a rigid, arbitrary set of rules.

In my view, the collective will of the community should always take precedence, because users don't frequent these forums to serve the moderators; rather, the moderators exist to serve the users. They shouldn't be stifling dialogue or terrorizing people with rulebook pedantry, especially on platforms where such heavy-handedness is completely unnecessary.

I couldn't agree more... your assessment is absolutely spot on.

I am going to cross-post your message over to Chatter Corner II so that a larger segment of our community can read it and engage more actively in this conversation.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for EVERY SINGLE post 👍

Looking at the current poll results, it appears that

the proposal to "appoint a moderator chosen by the community"

is actually pulling ahead

of the suggestion to "simply issue a warning because I like how Kim Kardashian is moderating"

And we have to remember, this is only the first day of voting; I suspect that as more Americans weigh in and share their perspectives over the coming week, the numbers will shift even further.

To my fellow members of the Diaspora: please, cast your vote and stand up for your rights. 👍

Betty Wright64 said:Robert Morgan732, what kind of messy poll is this even supposed to be? You haven't provided nearly enough choices... for instance, you could have included a) I don't really care, or perhaps b) I want Kim Kardashian to stay, or even c) make Robert Morgan732 the moderator.
The way you've set it up, you've essentially given the public option a), a), a), and a). 🤣
It reminds me of those old-school communist regimes where there was only one way to think.

Since the necessary alternatives are missing, I am going to opt for option a) and suggest they just replace me with Robert Morgan732 instead; he would actually make a fine moderator. 🙏

Kim Kardashian,

you really ought to include an option a) stating "I don't care"—because right now, there is no room for neutrality here..

Then you should add b) if someone suggests you loosen the reins just a little bit—meaning, act a bit more reasonable—then you get to stay.

And finally, add c) wishful dreams, darling. 🤣

Best,

mistycobra13, cast your vote so we can actually gauge where you stand

Frankly, I couldn't care less whether you support or oppose Kim; my only real interest lies in uncovering the objective truth regarding whether the forum members truly want her to stay or if they're ready to see her go!!

First off, let me be incredibly clear: I am not acting out of malice, nor is this post intended as a personal vendetta against any individual! My conscience is entirely clear regarding my intentions here.

The entire Diaspora subforum and its moderation are currently in total disarray due to the unchecked whims and self-appointed authority of a single person.

I am talking specifically about Steven Ruiz.

I would like to pose a question to the community: how would you prefer we handle this situation? Should we:

1) Appoint a brand new moderator who is actually chosen by the forum members themselves?
2) Replace them with one of our existing moderators?
3) Issue a formal warning or penalty?
4) Remove them from their position immediately?

It is quite evident that many users have either abandoned the Diaspora section entirely or have become silent observers because the current management is simply incapable of running things effectively.

Best regards,
