Paul Campbell3, I think I saw you at the theater, but you kind of disappeared after. Anyway, those tiny little name cards were driving me crazy. You basically have to walk up to every single person just to figure out who’s who. If they had just used a slightly larger font, it would've been easier...

Anyway, Simon got the biggest round of applause when she went up to accept Shadyev's award and told that joke he sent over. I guess the rif-ovac crowd actually showed up better than some of the others.

I was expecting much bigger celebrations for the Democrats or the Republicans, but the whole group just sat there stone-faced.

Not really in the mood to type a novel right now, so let's see what everyone else thinks...

Come on, just admit it—what kind of multi-level marketing scheme are you pushing now? First, you were forcing us into those shady real estate deals, and now you're trying to drive us out of the country. What, are you from Kenya or something?😁😁 🙂

Just realized I totally forgot to mention the title of the book:

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is in English. If anyone wants a copy, just shoot me a DM.

Ronald Castillo5,
The problem with these MLM marketers is their sales pitch. They read those books only when they need to push some scheme on you. Then suddenly, they're telling you that an MLM will be your vehicle to success. It’s pathetic, but I guess it's true.

I still don't get where goldentinker79 sees an MLM in this thread.

What product is even being "sold"? Where’s the scheme? Where’s the pyramid? How am I even supposed to join or who am I sending money to??

Aloooo, Ronald Castillo5, just post that invoice publicly so we can all chip in and start hunting for new suckers to pay. Let's not hide, goldentinker79 already called you out anyway. 🙏 🙏

Let's go, everyone jump into the pyramid. If you're hiding, you're a moron...

p.s. if anyone's interested, I have a digital copy of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Hit me up in the DMs and I'll send it over (it's usually $1,000, but for goldentinker79, it's free 🙂 ).

Ronald Castillo5 said:Look, man, if neither you nor I are lucky enough to get from point A to point B in a luxury ride... it shouldn't stop us from making the trip. At the end of the day, the goal is point B. So even if the journey sucks, we’re still going because that destination is what matters.

You getting on board?

I mean, you've got a point. Honestly, I don't care what anyone else has to say. I want to be rich, I know what I want, and I'm chasing it. If I have to do stuff I hate along the way? Whatever. The goal makes it worth it, I guess.

I'm out... gotta run!!!

nice one [/B]

Thanks for the kind words, but that last emoji worries me. It reminds me of my wife wanting me to "find myself" before she hits me over the head with a hammer.

I'd really love to just be who I am and find myself... but how? I guess I'm just jealous of those artists and musicians who actually know what they want and just go for it.

Can you even get rich by doing something JUST for the money? That's how I'm acting right now, I guess.

stuntman said:Chris Ruiz10... what does he mean by MLM?

I guess Sandra is probably some manager who got way too wrapped up in climbing the corporate ladder, so she has no clue what you're talking about.

MLM stands for multi-level marketing—you know, that Amway kind of shit. Apparently, Robert’s books sell really well with those crowds. There’s a rumor going around that he only blew up because some MLM guy sold a massive amount of his books through his downline. I think Robert even mentioned in his own books that MLMs are fine.

Personally, I hate MLMs. I could never talk people into joining something like that.

Do you want to be SAFE or do you want to be RICH?

That’s the question, I guess. Most people just pick the first one.

Good topic. Maybe I'll actually start posting more often.

Some tourist rolls into the Washington, D.C. airport late at night and looks for a cab.

Since they have a total monopoly, of course they ripped her off.

The fare to the Square was $100.
Fine, whatever—night rates, blah, blah.

But the woman paid with US dollars ($100) and this jerk gave her back only $67 in written text: two hundred kuna!!!!?!?!
What kind of exchange rate is $1=$1.75? It's just pure robbery!!!

I mean, we seriously need some competition. They should kick this driver out of the association immediately and BAN him from ever driving again.

😠 😠 😠

What are you saying, Antonio Banderas (and Darko)? It’s not like the bank is actually as stupid as it looks, right? Huh?

stormylynx14 said:That’s weird. My bank (JPMorgan Chase in Switzerland) actually went backward. They used to have smart cards, then two years later they ditched them for physical tokens. Is a token even more secure?

The smart card is probably more secure, but I guess a token is just easier. Maybe lazy customers couldn't figure out how to install a reader or copy a certificate onto a card, so they gave up, and now banks are "reverting" back to tokens.

manager,
don't mix up running a business with being self-employed. A ton of people want to set up an LLC just so they can work for themselves, and honestly, why shouldn't it be that easy?
Maybe everyone should just go bust in a month—whatever. Natural selection, I guess. Doesn't bother me much.
What bothers me is the federal bureaucracy trying to live large on everyone else's dime. They cook up this nonsense just to protect their own cushy jobs, I don't get how you don't see that. It's got nothing to do with fair play or hard work. Bureaucracy just kills entrepreneurship. And unfortunately, it doesn't act as a filter where only the best survive; it just acts as a barrier because it demands a mountain of cash.

A lot of people scrape together some savings and then fail because they simply aren't entrepreneurs. Don't you think it would have been better if they realized that after paying $0.33, instead of $10?

piper,
you're thinking smart. Yeah, people work under the table and dodge taxes, and the government loses out. So, instead of actually making things easier for people, they just tighten the leash.

manager said:NOBODY IN THE WORLD CAN BE AN ENTREPRENEUR.

If the rules of the game are too hard for you, then just don't do it. Simple.
Stop dumping your problems on everyone else.

Maybe not everyone can BE one, but in other countries, anyone can at least TRY, you know?

If you tell me I should $10 just try it (since you never know unless you try), that isn't exactly motivation. It’s not that the rules are too tough, it's just that it's way too hard to even get in the door. There could definitely be some changes made here to make things easier for people.

vividstag31 said:Anywhere in the world, if you don't have cash, you can't start a business or even a small LLC. That startup money is supposed to be for YOU, the owner, not some tax for the government.
That has nothing to do with how the legal system works.

Quick thought,

that isn't really true. You can set up a company way faster and with WAY fewer costs out there than here. When I started my LLC, I paid maybe 8-$3.00 in setup fees plus about $6.75 in initial capital.
Sure, that 20k stays with me, you're right about that, but those 9k spent on random certifications, notary fees, blah blah blah? That just goes straight into the pockets of shitty bureaucracy (like paying for a notice in the $283?!?!?) it's awful.

I guess this country just isn't ready to actually support entrepreneurs yet.

Yeah. I've been using this scar cream for maybe 3 or 4 months now. The scar feels pretty soft, but that doesn't do anything about the pain.

jadesailor14, yeah, if I remember right, the doctor basically mumbled something about potentially reopening the wound just to stitch it up again. I didn't really catch all of it. So, is it possible it was just "stitched wrong" and that's why it hurts, so it needs fixing? Ugh.
Will the scar end up being even bigger then?

The pain felt a little less intense when I was working out—you know, hitting the gym or swimming—basically just whenever I STRETCHED that part of my body. But honestly, it was only temporary.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

blondie_30 said:They might say it's psychological.🙄 (I mean, maybe, but you'd have to rule out everything else first.)

Don't just pop pills—if you're hurting, go see a different doctor and get a second opinion.

Where exactly is the wound, if you don't mind me asking?

Hmm... psychological? Maybe.

The wound is on my front, right side over the ribs. It's just skin and then the ribs, a few inches above where the rib starts. The wound actually stretches all the way to my shoulder blade on the back (sideways), but only that front part really hurts.

Are there any natural remedies or ointments that could help with the pain? Anything besides pills?

It’s been 7 months since my surgery, and there’s this one spot on the incision that just won't stop hurting. It isn't an overwhelming amount of pain, and it's maybe a little better than it was initially, but it still seriously interferes with my daily life.

Is there some kind of pill, medication, or even a topical cream that might take the edge off?

What have you guys experienced? Any advice or suggestions?

My doctor keeps insisting that everyone heals differently... whatever that's supposed to mean.

Best,
