Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·

🤔 Sure, he could have at least promised them a thousand virgins. 😁

I mean, the sheer amount of nonsense and pure stupidity that comes out of his mouth. It's almost impressive, I guess.

Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba—I mean, what kid would actually want to get dragged into this Russian war?
Even they probably see that Russia has become a massive loser, and providing any kind of support for Russia's aggressive war could just bring a mountain of trouble their way—trouble they already have plenty of. And honestly, they don't even have much that Russia actually needs.

Then you've got Iran and Korea, who have enough of their own messes to deal with without meddling in a war that Russia is losing. There's a big difference between selling stuff to Russia to make a buck and actually getting involved in a fight.

All he needs now is support from Mars. We'll have help from outer space too. 🙂

Yeah, this is basically just dealing with problematic individuals. There's no way they think they'll reclaim lost territory by working with them—not if even their elite units couldn't pull it off.

To top it all off, they slapped a massive fine on the councilman who actually spearheaded the whole movement.

The guy is desperate to hang on to power. What's next? Picking off council members one by one?

Is there any sign that Putin might be getting the boot soon? If you can actually trust the press, some politicians are already making moves. So far, we’re looking at 17 representatives. These are just heads of the Moscow regional districts.

A friend of mine over in Ohio tells me the Canadians are running military drills right up against our border constantly. Apparently, there's flashing all through the night. Who knows what they're getting ready for.

Russia is running into trouble with Ukrainian partisans. How many years has this insurgency been going on now? 🤔

You wrote: "they kept extending her contract, more than a few times."

Look, once a doctor hits 65, they can only stretch out their working years a maximum of five times. You specifically said they extended it "more than a few times."

The second a doctor turns 70, the law forces them into retirement. Period. No arguments. If their birthday is May 16th, they aren't stepping foot in that clinic on the 17th. They legally cannot work.

Since you said they extended it "more than a few times," there's your answer. She just got her paperwork for those final 70 days because of her age. That's the whole story.

They can't just push it to the end of the year like they usually write up these orders.

There’s no conspiracy here. It’s just how the system works.

Sure, technically. But now 2,000 patients are left without a doctor, and all their medical files are locked away at the Community Health Center administration office.

First, you file the request with the legal department at the New York City Department of Health over on Kennedy. They send back their response. Once you have that in hand, then you take it up to Washington D.C. You don't just show up at the Department with a rejection slip from City Hall.

Gary Cox2 said:Look, the minister is the one who actually issues the extension, not some local department.
How can you even claim the Department of Health didn't give the green light? For all you know, they said yes and the minister just said no.

How does a doctor retire and leave a vacuum where no replacement is even considered? Now 2,000 people are just left to fend for themselves.

Robin Jones2 said:You claim ignorance, yet you were quick enough to judge Eric Adams just because one doctor retired at 65—a move that had absolutely nothing to do with his administration.

That doctor had her contract extended several times before this. In April, she filed for another extension, but they only gave her 70 days. Why would a woman work only during the summer months? So, she just took retirement. Now the clinic is effectively dissolved, and instead of patients being transferred to a new physician, people are left hanging in limbo with their medical records locked away in the Community Health Center administration office.🤷 If you start having coronary symptoms now, you can't get testing or even sick leave. It’s absurd.
We should follow the lead of places like Norway and let employees take three days off once a year to just vent to their boss, no doctors' notes or paperwork required.
Eric Adams - Mayor of New York City, Part 4 in Political Scene ·
The local government blocked a GP from extending her contract just because she hit retirement age. She’s gone, nobody was hired to replace her, and now 2,000 people are stuck searching for a doctor while every decent physician in the city is already overbooked.

What exactly does Eric Adams do all day? Manage bike lanes?
Wouldn't an MRI be a better call here? It doesn't involve radiation like a PET scan does.

ironrider11 said:What do you mean by that? Like, what's the logic behind saying it doesn't depend on you?
If it's not on you, then who's running the show? Who else is it gonna be... 🤔

It’s simple. You react to the person in front of you. If they want closeness, you get close. If they need their space, you back off. I don't really have a fixed "type"—I just adapt to whoever else is in the equation.🤔

Don't feel bad about missing out on an introduction; frankly, you aren't losing anything by avoiding people like that.

Basic social etiquette dictates that you include everyone present in a discussion, but these individuals clearly lack even a shred of class.

What exactly was the occasion?

Well put, Jessica Thompson7. 🙂
Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
Daniel Barnes53 said:Honestly, this whole idea that China is going to "save" Russia feels totally off to me. You have Russia, with its massive, mostly empty stretches of land and endless natural resources, sitting right next to a powerhouse of 1.4 billion people who are absolutely starving for the exact raw materials Russia has in spades. I mean, what could possibly go wrong there? 🙄
China definitely isn't looking to help build a strong Russia; if anything, it’s the opposite. It seems to me that Russia is becoming more dependent on China than ever before.

Once these military forces burn themselves out, China might just decide to expand its footprint into Russian territory.

Looks like some people are already thinking along those lines.

"The Russian economy is in 'shock' from unprecedented sanctions in history; the West is leading an economic war against Russia" - Dmitry Peskov

🤔 So what now, guys? They were all saying they were more than ready to take the hit and that the West couldn't touch them economically... I guess the whole "nobody can stop us, we're stronger than fate" crying ends here, huh?

In Europe, plenty of businesses were already struggling to get back on their feet after COVID. And then these idiots go and start a war, leaving everyone to deal with supply and demand issues.

The European Union promised fighter jets to Ukraine, but the ‘plan’ fell apart in just 24 hours: ‘We don't have enough to be handing them out anymore.’

Honestly, how unprofessional can you get?
I am just completely floored by this level of European Union diplomacy—it’s honestly embarrassing behavior, all this posturing and sending little messages over Twitter... like, wtf?

It feels like nobody is actually doing the hard work of real diplomacy or trying to de-escalate things; instead, we're seeing massive escalation and, well, as this article shows, just a lot of empty talk.

Yeah... zero effort being put into lowering the tension.

Meanwhile, Kasparov is calling for Russia to be kicked off all global financial markets.

It’s getting... interesting. In this era of globalization, sanctions are starting to take on a whole different shape.
