ESPN picks Athlete of the Year for 2006 in Other Sports ·
Our very own Snow White is actually one of the options in the poll. So, do me a favor and head over to http://www.eurosport.com/ to cast your vote for Jane!!! She’s got a pretty massive lead right now, but I don't want anyone accidentally overtaking her...

PS: Just so you don't think I'm being exclusive or anything—feel free to vote for whoever else you want, just please don't tell her 😁
Seriously, don't feed the troll, please. You know better than anyone that you aren't going to change their mind—it’s just not going to happen—and there's zero chance you'll teach them anything new either. They're just going to keep doing their own thing regardless, so honestly... don't even bother trying...
rustymoose54 said:just talking nonsense...

In case you didn't catch that, we're talking about MacGregor here.

He's basically been spouting total nonsense for almost a year now, right? ;=
I'm just totally wiped out...
offtopik: rustymoose54, are you ignoring my DM on purpose, or did you just miss it because you were too distracted by all this beauty?
Brenda Morales46 said:👍 Then you’re gonna have to ask for a double dose of Ormidol just to get your heart rate under control😁

alright, here goes nothing:

prepar
mulled wine
ormidol...

wait, what was it you said again—are you actually a doctor or just some alternative medicine enthusiast?
Brenda Morales46 said:I mean, instead of asking for an IV drip, you’re basically requesting half a bottle of red wine mixed with cloves, cinnamon, and some nuts to take orally... honestly, you can't be playing serious...

And what if you want that mulled wine alongside the prep?
Jessica Kim said:because there are definitely times when you just can't deal with standard meds—and an alternative route actually works wonders, which is the big thing—it doesn't cause any harm.

but for those of us who stick strictly to what's been scientifically proven by mainstream American medicine... well, we usually just call those cases one thing: a placebo effect...
rustymoose54 said:Type 1 definitely can't be prevented.

Well, let me play devil’s advocate for a second. Sure, right now Type 1 feels impossible to prevent, but I really believe that as we get smarter about autoimmune triggers, big pharma will eventually figure out how to spot people who are predisposed to it. They'll probably jump on the first sign of symptoms with some kind of therapy to stop the disease from progressing in kids...

It'll work in wealthy, developed countries, obviously—places where there’s enough money to cover those insanely complex diagnostic tests and those ridiculously expensive antibody panels (I mean, Big Pharma has to make a profit somehow, right? 😎 ).

And let's be real—I don't see "negative energy" or some infinitesimally diluted homeopathic remedy being part of that prevention process.
placidfox55 said:I haven't been keeping up with the latest posts on this thread, but just to add a little something here... Type 1 diabetes might be something you can't prevent—at least not yet—but Type 2, which we see way more often, is definitely something that can be successfully prevented. 🙂

rustymoose54 has type 1 diabetes.

But hey, turns out it is... 👍

oooooh man, one of those rock-solid arguments you hear in every single debate...

whenever I read stuff like that, I literally start shaking...
Sandra Hayes88 said:Honestly, if we actually want modern medicine to succeed, we really ought to be putting way more focus on prevention.

So, what about diabetes prevention?

😂

Nobody else on this forum has a sense of humor quite like this...
Sandra Hayes88 said:On the flip side, you’re being way too uncritical about mainstream medicine—even though, just like the rest of us, you've definitely felt its limits before.

Honestly, I see things totally differently than you do.
I actually think people battling severe conditions like VF_9 are living proof that modern medicine is doing its job and working exactly how it should.

If we were looking at this even 50 years ago, they almost certainly wouldn't have made it to where they are today, let alone have any shot at becoming:

You're being so arrogant and dogmatic.
And all I can say to that is... man, if you actually knew her in real life...🤣

HIV/AIDS in Health ·
Look, you aren't going to get a straight answer here—honestly, you probably won't get any real help at all since, from what I know, there aren't any infectious disease specialists hanging out on these forums... Some random person will tell you "yes," someone else will say "no," and they'll dump five or six links on you that’ll just leave you more confused than when you started after reading through them on WebMD.

Internet forums are just... they aren't the right place for questions like this, especially if you actually need an expert opinion.

Just go see a doctor.
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
So, I’ve been hearing people say that once they finally kicked the caffeine habit, sleeping became a total breeze...
I'm definitely one of those people who struggles to drift off at night—and then I end up waking up way too early feeling like I barely slept at all... If I could actually quit coffee, maybe my sleep schedule would fix itself (though then again, my blood pressure probably wouldn't stay under 90, so I guess I'll just keep sipping it)

Maybe try going cold turkey for just a week and see how it goes...

alexxx said:If someone has a sensitive touch and makes things hurt way more than they actually should... man, I'd be terrified. If I'm scared, I'll just avoid booking an appointment until a tooth starts throbbing so hard I can't even function. I had this one dentist once that I was genuinely afraid of. It was not a good time. 😁

That’s why you go to a private practice—you basically pay extra for the numbing injection $17 more than the actual dental work itself. Honestly, probably the biggest waste of money $17 in my entire life... 😁
Sleep apnea

It’s definitely not depression or panic attacks—honestly, it isn't even a psychological thing at all. It’s almost entirely physiological...

Anyone who deals with it knows...

Who the hell is Taylor Swift? in Music ·
So, she ended up taking home the Grammy for Best Female Vocal Performance yesterday—beating out both Kelly Clarkson and Alicia Keys. Honestly? She’s an absolute powerhouse... just incredible.
Who even is she? Does she have an actual album out yet? Or maybe just a single song? I'm wondering where I can actually go to listen to her stuff...
