The truth about the Oscars in Movies ·
HOLY CRAP, THERE ARE FIVE OF THEM!!!!!!!

So I just went to go count them myself...

🤮

Honestly, you probably shouldn't have even mentioned this to us, redowl90...
Thread closed.

Honestly, this was just two users bickering—so I'm handing out warnings to both of you. Look, I know you two haven't seen eye-to-eye for years now, but this isn't the place for that kind of behavior... we don't tolerate it here.

If this happens again, it’s an immediate ban from the site—or maybe I'll just kick you both out of the entire forum if you really push my buttons.

And yeah, just so everyone knows, we have a new moderator joining the team. This is a pretty chill community that doesn't actually need much oversight—just someone to clear up the occasional mess or step in when a fight breaks out like this one. be nice...
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Honestly, you shouldn't believe a single word they say. You really need to double-check everything—just so you actually know how much, when, and where you'll be passing gas once you're recovering from surgery...

rustymoose54 said:Just take your Synthroid in the morning and you’re good to go... honestly... 🙂

And you’re out there snatching gold Olympic medals and clearing two meters like it's nothing... 😁

If you were already a total knockout before all this sickness hit... honestly... 🙂

Look, don't let yourselves get fooled by all that alternative medicine hype—especially when you're dealing with stuff like this where standard, old-school medical treatments absolutely get the job done...
You want to know what I’m thinking?

I feel like I’ve heard from at least fifteen different independent sources now—not just one person, but totally separate people—saying that chestnuts actually help with rheumatism. It hasn't always cost me a dime to hear it, either... so I don't think people are just messing around for no reason. To me, it feels more like some deep-rooted folk wisdom or something passed down through generations.

Honestly, maybe those big-shot pharmaceutical companies should take a closer look at what's inside a chestnut and see if it really can help with rheumatism😁
rustymoose54 said:I just can't wrap my head around how someone with an engineering degree could actually buy into this kind of nonsense

Look, if the goal here was to make me laugh... mission accomplished...

so a college degree 😂

so a PhD 😂

so "nonsense" 😂

Speaking of hypochondriacs, I used to know one—really well. This guy was a total pro at it. He was so convinced he was dying that he’d basically nurture his symptoms like a hobby, convincing every normal person he met that he was legitimately on his deathbed...
He even managed to talk his cardiologist (who, let's be honest, wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders himself) into giving him a pacemaker. Seriously, the guy could practically command his heart to skip a beat—he could move his blood pressure up or down just by sheer willpower if he needed to. So, he gets the pacemaker, and usually, you gotta swap out the battery after about seven years since, you know, it actually has to work to keep the heart pumping. Well, after nearly eight years, his battery was still sitting at 80%... which basically means over those eight years, the device only actually kicked in five times...

man was a master at playing the sick card.

I haven't actually seen it, so I don't really have an opinion yet.

But hey, if it truly is that good... then it’ll probably land more than 5 nominations, right? 😉
The truth about the Oscars in Movies ·
It’ll be pretty wild to see how many nominations this movie actually pulls in.
There’s a chance they have a few different versions of those clips floating around—you know, one saying "nominated in 2 categories," another saying "4," maybe even "6." It’s totally possible the producers are just guessing their luck and filming all these different promos ahead of time, just so they can drop the "perfect" one on January 31st...

But, if the film actually ends up landing 5, 👎
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
Explain yourself, please!

What am I supposed to make of those five words you dropped with a smiley face at the end?

@Walter Myers4: Honestly, I’d much rather have something a little less addictive than Xanax, if that’s even an option...
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
Just wanted to vent for a second—lately, my dreams have been absolutely brutal. They’re so exhausting, and honestly, they all feel like the same nightmare on repeat. I wake up feeling totally drained, just completely wiped out... sometimes I even wake up feeling like I’ve been crying all night.
So, does anyone know if taking some Xanax might actually stop the dreaming? Is there any way to deal with these repetitive nightmares? They’re seriously killing me more than if I had just stayed awake all night...
Can I just say—and please tell me I'm not crazy—that I am genuinely hoping Lawrence Robinson11 is just trolling at this point? Or maybe they're some kind of weird clone...
Lawrence Robinson11 said:Yeah, right—and who else deserves to skip the line? An engineer? I don't know, maybe once he finishes his PhD he can take my spot in line at Chase Bank.

My final word to this absolute child:

Do you seriously think getting an MD after med school is the same thing as earning a PhD? Because they aren't even in the same league...

Good grief...

And yeah, among those "others" I mentioned in my post about how I feel about doctors, there are definitely people who think their medical degree gives them some kind of VIP pass to cut the line at the bank.
Lawrence Robinson11 said:so you think you deserve this huh?

Seriously though—what year are you even in? You actually think you're some kind of doctor already?...
Lawrence Robinson11 said:and yeah, finishing medical school is way tougher than grinding through architecture or engineering

So, just don't go looking for any deep wisdom in my rambling...
The one thing that’s actually decent about med students—especially the freshmen—is this:

a) they actually grow up eventually...
b) most of them end up just writing scripts and basic instructions for antibiotics (you know, your typical GP)

People like Lawrence Robinson11 usually don't even make it through the program.

Like I've mentioned a few times before, I honestly believe the majority of doctors here in the States are capable, skilled, selfless, and truly dedicated to helping their patients.
Unfortunately, there's always that certain group that isn't, and they just end up giving everyone else a bad name...
ESPN picks Athlete of the Year for 2006 in Other Sports ·
Alright, you guys already know the whole story about how Mikaela dominated—the American hype machine is officially in overdrive—but now I figured I’d give you all a little laugh.

So, this snippet from the New York Post caught my eye, especially this one part:

Wolf from the New York Post said:Also, Mikaela was honored with an award from the international network ESPN after being named the top global athlete of 2005.

I actually started laughing out loud when I read that... 😂

Wait, didn't you start this exact same thread just a few months ago? 🤔

I'm like, 100% positive you did...

edit: yeah, you definitely did
Look, I totally respect where you're coming from, but I just wanted to point out one little thing here:

Kyle Nelson2 said:my folks are from the countryside..
and ragweed grows like crazy out there... and nobody ever sneezed or anything because of it. Now it's like we're all dying from it...
well, if that were actually true, those people would've gone extinct ages ago—like, imagine being out hunting mammoths or hiding from a saber-toothed tiger or a bear, and suddenly you start sneezing because you ducked into a bush full of ragweed... and then you just get eaten..

Ragweed is actually a plant that's native to North America. You can check the details on this link:
It made its way over to the States back in 1941, but it didn't really start spreading aggressively until the '80s. That’s basically why so many people are allergic now—evolutionarily speaking, Americans are used to the pollen, but people in Europe aren't, and the stuff has been spreading at a terrifying speed over the last couple of decades...

Man, I remember my first day with them—I headed out to work and didn't get back until around 8 PM... so basically 12 hours straight. No issues at all, honestly.

Started wearing soft contacts last week—took me a solid 45 minutes just to get them in on day one, but man, I got used to them instantly. I’ve been wearing them pretty much every day since, except today... I only clocked about 4 or 5 hours of sleep last night, so there was absolutely zero chance of me forcing anything into my eyes...

et: @Sean Nguyen4, what made you go with the semi-hard ones instead of the soft ones?
