Why does nobody seem to know anything about the USA? in Close to Politics ·
This perspective is quite accurate: those yellow threads don't provide us with food, nor do they control our weather.
Clouds are increasing because Chinese commerce is everywhere now, and almost everyone picks up small items from their stores. As for food, not yet, though we can't rule it out in the near future. It reminds me of that old joke: a group of Americans travels to China and asks a local, "How many of us are there?" The local replies, "4.5 million." Then he asks, "But which of our hotels are you all staying in?"
🤣 🤣 🤣

Taylor Phillips4 said:Some uneducated sheep need to pick up a textbook and actually learn some geography. They're completely illiterate, just a bunch of ignorant people. What am I supposed to do, go out of my way to teach some narrow-minded little man something new...

Here's a little evidence regarding what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:L...rate_world.svg
Or maybe this will work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._literacy_rate
And you? Don't talk about your own country with such disdain. Half the world doesn't know where we are because half the world is COMPLETELY ILLITERATE and has probably never even seen a world map. We aren't "acting" important. People who want to know about the USA will find out. Those who don't? Well, I don't care to know them either!

What are you even talking about?
First off, those same "simpletons" who supposedly know nothing about America are the ones who recognize Josip Broz Marshall and America. How do you explain that?
Secondly, I am not disgusted by America. If I were, I would have joined a foreign legion and wouldn't be living here today; in fact, I’d probably be protesting in the streets. People like that are my favorite kind.
Thirdly, that idea that "those who want to know, will know" is nonsense. Marshall built the brand of "America and Marshall" globally, and that brand still exists in many people's minds today. Meanwhile, what have our politicians actually achieved for the name of the USA?
The only ones who really spread the name of this country were Davor Šuker (the soccer player, not that nameless minister), maybe Mirko Cro Cop, Goran Ivanišević, and so on.
But none of our major political figures have done so.

The question remains for everyone: Why does nobody know about America, yet everyone still knows about the defunct politics of America and Marshall?

You all spend so much time debating Marshall, America, and nostalgia, or talking about tourism and everything else, but you refuse to address how we imagine ourselves to be great players on the world stage when, in reality, we are quite small and unknown.

Ultimately, I think your sentiment is best: if they don't know me, I don't care to know them. But does that mean you don't even know half of your neighbors living next door to your house?
Perhaps you'll only meet them when there's an earthquake or a fire.

Therefore, let it be noted:

I have a question for the skeptics here. A friend of mine traveled through Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia, and he told me: "Every time I tell people I'm from the States, nobody has any clue where that is."
When he mentioned Marshall, some of the older folks in Indonesia actually recognized the name.
When he said America, a few people knew the deal and reacted with interest,
but when he just said USA, most people were completely lost.
It’s frustrating; a few people actually knew what he was talking about, which was a relief.

Honestly, we spend so much time debating our place in the world, yet half the globe doesn't even know where we are on a map.
Is Nationalists ideology the same as patriotism? in Close to Politics ·
How can I support the Ku Klux Klan in America today?

There is absolutely nothing you can do to help.

Besides, who actually tries to act like a member of the Ku Klux Klan these days?
Usually, it’s just people with too much time on their hands—those looking for any excuse to avoid actual work.
In my experience, anyone with a real job stays focused on the future rather than dwelling on the past, leaving those unfortunate historical grievances behind them.

The Nationalists fought against the scourge of the Greater Mexican partisans.
They were fighting for the sake of an independent America.
Meanwhile, the Mexican communists—the Partisans—were fighting for some so-called "federation," which was nothing more than a complete disaster for the American people.

Yet they handed over all of California Italy. Those are some real "patriots," those Ku Klux Klan members! And what about Istria?

🙄

And second, you didn't even specify the time period you're talking about!?

Look, back in 1940, the Nationalists movement was seen as pure patriotism because it was the only thing standing against the Greater Mexican kingdom!
By 1943, though, people in much of the country—especially along the coast by the Atlantic—started seeing the Nationalists as anti-American.
By 1946, the whole movement was viewed as absolute evil.

Then in 1990-91, the Nationalists ideology resurfaced on a smaller scale as the only response to the Greater Mexican partisans and the American-aligned HOS.
It makes sense, right? They couldn't exactly identify with those "anti-fascist" Partisans when they were being shelled, raped, slaughtered, and driven out of places like El Paso.

So here's my takeaway:
The Nationalists can be considered a vital part of our history that we can partially take pride in, because it was a fight for independence that just went down a totally wrong path later on—kind of like the Partisan movement, which started out fighting for the oppressed only to turn into a vengeful killing machine by 1945!

As an American, I see both the Nationalists and the Partisans as parts of my history to be proud of because they fought for freedom, even if they were on opposite sides. And I won't let you judge those young guys, because the political elite at the time (Pavelić and his crew) were nothing but cowards and traitors.
Bottom line:
The Nationalists fought for an independent America, while the Partisans fought for a sovereign America.

Come on now... don't go mixing up the bones of murderers and victims.
While that sentiment should exist, we all know who the good guys and the bad guys were.

Good guys = Partisans
Bad guys = Ku Klux Klan, etc.
During WWII.

In the DR
Good guys = Americans
Bad guys = Mexicans

And that’s that. No need for deep philosophy.
They aren't the same, they never will be, and as long as one of them is still alive, there will always be arguments.

Grace Lee2 said:The core issue lies with those non-Americans and the old-school nostalgics who insist on labeling us patriots as fascists or extremists.
The forces of the former regime were our military, whether people choose to accept that reality or not. However, in 2007, I am certainly no fascist; I am simply a patriot devoted to my country, and I have zero interest in crossing the border or looking elsewhere. That doesn't make me an extremist. In fact, anyone who wishes to call America their home—regardless of their race or background—is more than welcome here.
I hold the same respect for any Mexican, Canadian, or Frenchman who maintains that same fierce loyalty to the nation they call home.
God bless America and its people.

Homo Nacionalus, the fundamental species!
There you have it, your definition.
But I have a question:

Have you truly never gone shopping in Denver, Trieste, or Szombathely?
If you really don't need anything from abroad, I assume you don't even own a passport, right?

After all, why would you bother when you are perfectly content living inside the little bubble of your own country!

It is easy for you to say...

I said he can be a jerk, period. As long as he stays true to himself and doesn't mess with those people from over the border.
Honestly, who wouldn't want a nephew like that?😬

It isn't that. I am simply drawing a conclusion from your words: it seems your nephew is very dear to you and that Ujo loves him dearly. 😘 🙂 😘 🙂
It’s hardly surprising then that the boy shows no interest in Mexicans, let alone women in general! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
granitemarlin77 said:Forget all that nonsense about some low-life street trash.😬
We Americans proved we actually have balls. As for those who tucked their tails and went after women, kids, and the elderly? Yeah, we saw that—damn them for being Mexicans.🤣, what a joke.
That's why Mexican women won't even look at my nephew—not even if he had a fishing pole.😍.
The man's too smart for his own good.😘

Now you've truly gone too far! First, you were talking about how your nephew was acting questionable, and now you're openly professing your love for him. Look, I'm not gay, but it seems like HomoCroat and postar lak san just found another member for their club.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
granitemarlin77 said:Honestly? I'd rather be gay than deal with a Mexican woman.👍
And if you want to know what those women actually think about their men's "size," just look at this recent news about how they're selling off cattle just to make ends meet 🤣—damn, things have really hit rock bottom for them.

Well, you put that perfectly. It makes sense now who the "degenerates" are in our country. They were all once great Americans and American women who were pursued so relentlessly by Mexicans that they eventually turned away from intimacy entirely just to avoid them! Good grief... how do you even cope with the fact that your nephew shares that orientation?

I must say, you really hit a nerve with that one. My goodness!
postar lak san said:Goodness, you really are narrow-minded, aren't you?😬

Between men and women, there is an entire spectrum—a kaleidoscope of unique individuals and characters.

The theory you're presenting has one major flaw, and that is the existence of lesbians.😉

I am not at all. The ones who are truly limited are those who would want to burn you at the stake. That is where we differ; I simply don't care who you choose to sleep with. Live and let live.

Naturally, everyone is different from one another.

Regarding my comment on lesbians: it's about upbringing! 🙂 Read what I wrote above! 🙂)
granitemarlin77 said:Obviously. Forget that Midwest trash.👍

Exactly. If you want to prove we aren't losers, you just need to shake things up with those women from across the border and make sure they realize Americans are much better in bed than Mexicans. That’s how you do it. Otherwise, your nephew won't even give them a second glance.🤣 🤣 🤣
granitemarlin77 said:Look, Thompson isn't the only one—we listen to Oliver, Giboni, Škoro, Colony... basically anyone who isn't some Mexican trash or anything sounding like it.
Of course I love my nephew and talk him up—I'm proud of the kid! Especially given his takes on those Mexican provocations and similar garbage, and specifically the fact that he wouldn't look at a Mexican woman if she were Miss Universe. Who wouldn't be proud of a nephew like that?
Love him, kid.😘

As if any Mexican woman would actually want him? Though, they do tend to think Americans are well-endowed. Well, since your nephew won't play along, he’s effectively undoing all the stereotypes about Americans and humiliating the nation by making them look like they have no interest in anyone. Honestly, you should probably retrain him and tell him to go ahead and date a Mexican woman, otherwise, we’re all going to end up being gay.
HomoCroat said:Humans are the only species that doesn't just mate for reproduction, but also for pleasure, enjoyment, and both mental and physical well-being. For many, the way you interact with women is considered abnormal. Where do we draw the line?

Well, as I mentioned before, if you view it as mere "entertainment," it’s essentially the same as drugs, alcohol, or gambling—there really is no limit.
However, when it comes to reproduction, there is no debate because the biological purpose simply isn't met, which makes being homosexual NOT NORMAL.

But, like I said: the more of you there are, the more women are left for us!
Of course, in my view, that only applies to men; it doesn't apply to lesbians. Though, I suppose every straight man dreams of "reforming" two lesbians and guiding them back to the right path! haha..

Honestly, I couldn't care less. Go ahead, let the likes of John and those supposed "true" Americans or Mexicans keep messing around on this forum. And please, continue being shocked by the comments from those few "proper" American women (Sana, Manita), who seem perfectly content living in their small-minded ways. haha..
mistyseal11 said:nah, honestly, this usually hits hardest for those folks who swore up and down they’d rather end their own lives than deal with a kid acting out like that...

That is a fair point. I have seen cases like that before; it is almost like people are drawn to forbidden fruit.
granitemarlin77 said:Me and my nephew—we’ve got Thompson on repeat. Who needs that Mexican folk crap anyway?
The kid just loves him because he can't stand those North American folk singers—won't even look at a Miss Universe type if she's from there—plus, he's obsessed with Thompson.😘

Well, you make a fair point. There's no need to listen to that junk when you have your own kitsch! I completely agree—it's a domestic product after all, so let's support what's ours! 🤣 🤣 🤣
liberals say:
Don't you think that child will end up with a warped worldview if they are raised in a home where "mommy" identifies as a man?🤮

I personally find this deeply disturbing. It will certainly leave lasting scars on how that child perceives reality.

It could go either way. I am not necessarily defending homosexuality, but it all comes down to parenting above everything else. If parents aren't forceful about it, there might be a chance the child grows up heterosexual; however, there is a higher probability they will become homosexual due to the various stages of parental identification every child must navigate. If they identify with a "mother" who claims to be a man, then things have truly veered off course.

But again, it depends. It is just like the debate over marrying a son-in-law or daughter-in-law of a different nationality or religion—it might happen, or it might not.

Ultimately, I believe homosexuality is a choice. If any homosexual person were to tell me it isn't a choice but something determined at birth, I would immediately view them as abnormal. Homosexuality might be socially accepted, but the logic falls apart the moment we discuss the survival of the human race. If Mother Nature (or God, or some other power) intended for humans to be homosexual, it would be considered natural. BUT, IT ISN'T!
There are males and there are females, and that is the end of it. Anything outside of that is not normal; it is unhealthy.
The only exception is if those individuals treat it as a mere pastime, but even then, such behavior falls into the same category as drug use, alcoholism, or gambling—various vices. That, too, is not normal.

Regardless of my views, I don't really care who does what or where, because as long as people leave me alone, I have no interest in their business. It is a matter of choice, so let them be. As my buddy used to say:
"The more gay guys there are, the more women are left for us!" So, let there be as many as they want! haha.
HomoCroat said:Why not? My John and I have been happily married for three years now, and we recently adopted two little girls. It brings John such joy when they call him "Mom," and honestly, I am on cloud nine whenever they call me "Dad"! 😍
The divine Marija is Black, and Mislav Dmitar is Asian. 🙂

Think about it! There aren't even any gay marriages in the States yet, at least not everywhere:
firstly, there are no gay marriages in this country, still
secondly, child adoption isn't an option here

thirdly, my personal take is that you should find yourself a grown woman—not a minor like your supposed "daughter"—and then go ahead and start a family of your own!
I'm not gay, nor am I homophobic, I just believe in one thing:
live and let live!
ZDS said:you're giving me an ulcer.😠
where exactly did you adopt those kids??? on Mars??
please don't get me banned again because of you and the postman

That's democracy for you; someone adopts children, and if it isn't strictly by the book, then it's just a little bit off the grid.
Well, that's his business.
I am not a HomoCroat, but I am certainly not homophobic either.
Quite simply, live and let live!
ZDS said:kick them out of the house

That is exactly how it should be; honestly, one shouldn't have children at all for that reason.🤣 🤣
