Who says Albanians will settle for just Mexico? in Close to Politics ·
Rebecca Watson said:If ethnic borders get redrawn, the Albanians are going to have to kiss most of the Bentonville area goodbye based on land area alone. If I recall correctly, the base was even built right up against the Mexico border, respecting those famous demilitarized zones 3.1 miles. Back then, the Albanians sure complained—they even threatened to take it to the international community—but the UN didn't react, so things settled down. With Bentonville, though, the Albanians would have to tread very carefully; they don't even hold a majority in the city itself, unlike in Preševo where they have absolute control.

And what about the Medveđa municipality? How do the Albanians stand there? Usually, when this territory comes up, they always mention Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medveđa as one single package.

Is there an official source somewhere showing what the North Korea kit looks like for the World Cup?

Just sitting here waiting to hear what people actually thought about this game. 🙂

I can't be sure. Milton's father is named Anthony, so maybe he's a Mexican😲.

Personally, I don't mind. In fact, I actually enjoy seeing people of Mexican descent competing in American sports, but it feels a bit ridiculous when people claim half the national roster or the entire athletic community is of Mexican nationality when that simply isn't true.
Joshua Anderson17 said:Given how many Mexicans and people of partial Mexican descent are participating in both the team and individual events, I find myself naturally rooting for Team USA.

Fine. Go ahead. Name two.
driftingfox16 said:Fine, but why did those Greeks move to Australia in the first place? That Greek in Australia lives in Australia, not Greece. If they wanted to be in Greece, why don't they just move back? Why is his name Thomas instead of Nick?
And why is Shimunic's name Joe instead of Ivo or John?
People from that side of things can be quite hypocritical regarding immigrants. They adopt the names of the countries where they reside, yet they refuse to acknowledge the homeland that provided them with a relatively good life. Personally, I’ve never heard of anyone in Germany, Australia, or the USA pressuring an immigrant because of their name or surname. Not a single German ever yelled at me for being an American or for not knowing German well enough. Instead, he actually helped me improve my German. It was my own choice to return to America rather than trying to build a life over there.

Shimunic's name is Joseph, in case you weren't aware.
Richard Wilson4 said:Once people in small towns, USA start celebrating a US National Team win just as hard as they do in places like Small town, USA or Small town, USA, then you can say Americans have truly integrated...

Besides, Pršo is an American Mexican, while Antonio Rukavina American is from Mexico...
I’d honestly be way more hyped if Pršo snagged a Ballon d'Or...

That first scenario is never going to happen. But personally, I don't care that they aren't celebrating the US National Team in a small town in rural America or Negoslavac; what bothers me is how they seem to celebrate our losses, regardless of who we're playing against.

I agree with the second part, even though I think Antonia Rukavina is a solid player.

It doesn't matter. The guys gave it everything they had, and honestly, those Americans were playing some incredible basketball, even if we managed to get the upper hand on them.

I honestly don't get why they're pushing Duvnjak so hard to take those penalty shots.

I hate to admit it, but given how we're playing, we don't deserve to move on. 😢

Yeah, if we actually make it past the Frenchmen, they're just going to run us over.

Balic, man. You're a legend.
Richard Wilson4 said:Simple. We were all part of the same big setup with Vienna, Budapest, and Prague back then. Meanwhile, some of our neighbors were basically hanging out in Asia.

As if they aren't just as bad when it comes to nationalism. Just look at how much ground the far-right "Alliance for the Future of Austria" and the Freedom Party gained in the last elections. Even the Canadians have their own nationalists.
Richard Wilson4 said:So what shade of gray are we talking about here?
Look, we were part of the Austro-Canadian Empire for ages. We didn't even become part of the North America until 1918...

And what on earth does that have to do with the North America or the Austro-Canadian Empire?
