My version of Microsoft Word 2003 is set to German, but I guess the command layout stays the same regardless of the language, so you should be able to find what you need to click. 👍

You can probably restore and install the original Windows that came with the laptop, provided you haven't wiped the recovery partition. I guess the specific key combo to trigger recovery depends on which laptop model you're using.

Which Microsoft Office are you running... 2003, Microsoft Office 2007, or Microsoft Office 2010?

Your Word setting should match whatever language you need for spellchecking, I guess.
You just have to find the set language option—in Microsoft Office 2007, it’s under Review—select your preferred language, and then hit default not necessary.

It doesn't necessarily have to be like that for me. My setup defaults to German because I'm using the German version of Microsoft Office, but since it also handles grammar checks in American, I just have to make sure American is currently selected.

Maybe I pressed something wrong. 🤷

Change the shortcut combination.

You just enable the grammar check, and if a word is misspelled, a red underline should pop up underneath it.

How can there be no .vob files? He said he wants to convert .mkv to DVD format, because I highly doubt a Blu-ray Player is going to play an .mkv just because he saved it as a file and expects it to work.

You should probably create a DVD menu. I suppose you could try Ashampoo, though I don't really use it myself. Maybe Apple iDVD would work more reliably. It might even be possible to set it up on a Blu-ray Player so it plays automatically; personally, every DVD Video I have plays right away, whether there's a menu or not.

You probably have a subtitle section in the program settings. It’s likely set to the default, so you might need to switch it to Eastern Europe, I guess.

It won't let him select that option; it’s grayed out. Strange, since it supposedly supports .mkv files.
