Best alternatives to Nero Burning ROM? in Software ·
If I’ve managed to grasp what the author was getting at, you burn a movie onto a Blu-ray Player and then it just cuts out after about 80 minutes every single time? Or maybe...

I'm not sure why you're having issues, but on my end, the subtitles always sit at 100% in the right spot, regardless of the aspect ratio. I guess you could just manually adjust the subtitle position until it looks right to you. You can probably tweak the aspect ratio settings right above that too.

When it comes to cutting footage with video REmaker, I guess there isn't anything faster out there. It doesn't require re-encoding after the cut, and for joining clips, maybe just use Fast AVI MPEG Joiner.

Maybe that's true in some places, but I doubt it applies to the EU, otherwise Amazon.com, Amazon.com, and dozens of other online shops would be selling illegal goods.

Be careful to buy original software, because there are plenty of people online trying to sell copies.

I am buying through a local site but the price is confusing. I decided on the Retail home Premium version instead of OEM. On Microsoft's official site, Home Premium is $199, but on this site, it’s only $98. I guess I wonder if it's better to get the Pro OEM for $115 or this Retail Home Premium for $98. Maybe the Retail version is better since you get both x32 and x64?

Hi, quick question. If I buy a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OEM DVD online, what am I actually getting?
Can this version of 7 be installed on any machine, or is it limited to just one PC?
Thanks.
1. You can upload videos up to about 10 minutes long in a single piece on YouTube.
2. I guess you could use one of those million video converters to turn it into a single format. Since .ifo and .bup aren't actually video formats, we're just talking about the actual content. If you convert everything to MPEG2 using iMovie, you could maybe just merge and save it as a .wmv file.

Handbrake, though you might be able to clean things up using Microsoft Office if you don't already have GarageBand. Both programs are free, I guess.

It might be easiest to just strip the audio from the video, run it through some small utility to clean it up, and then mux them back together. Or maybe just use Adobe Premiere.

Maybe you should just revert to what you were running before Windows 7 and wait. I suppose there's still a long list of programs that don't work on 7, which is probably the only reason I'm sticking with Vista for now.

The bitrate is 320, but it saves everything as an MP3.

Maybe there is some little program out there that can fix the sound?

The quality is only as good as what the radio station transmits, which is usually 64 kb/s, or maybe 128 kb/s at best.

Audacity is actually a pretty decent tool for this kind of thing, I guess.

I guess Vista might be one of the biggest failures in computing history, which even Microsoft basically admitted...
Vista doesn't even come close to XP or 7.

Listen, I've never actually had Vista freeze on me or anything, whereas XP hangs or crashes at least twice a month. It's the same rig—dual core 3 GHz with 4 GB of RAM. Personally, I haven't run into any issues with Vista, so I'm curious what people mean by it being a failure; maybe I just haven't used those specific features yet. My internet speed is also identical across Vista, XP, and 7 at 1.5 MB/s, so I don't get how he's seeing a difference. I started using Vista a year after it launched and it's been fine, while 7 keeps stuttering on me. I think I'll stick with what I have for a while.

I don't know about you all, but Windows 7 is a complete disaster. Sure, it installs, it boots up, and I suppose it runs slightly faster than Vista or XP—there's no denying that. The real issue is that certain programs, let alone games, simply won't install. Even when they do, they either fail immediately or crash after ten seconds with some error message saying "blah blah.exe has stopped working." Visually, it isn't much of an improvement over Vista, though I guess the taskbar is a bit more practical. I think I'll stick with Vista for at least another six months until these issues get sorted out. It seems rather absurd that software released five years ago works fine on 7, yet stuff from just last year isn't even compatible.

Hey everyone. I haven't really messed around with Windows 7 yet, so I'm wondering if the internet just works right after installation, or if there are some settings I'll probably have to fiddle with first.

I suppose Video Remaker might be the better option for trimming clips. You just cut out the junk you don't need, and since there's no need to re-encode everything, the whole process is finished in a few minutes, I guess.
How to fix audio sync issues in a video in Software ·
Are you trying to sync the audio and video for a permanent encode, or just while watching? If it's just for viewing, there are players that let you nudge the audio by milliseconds using the plus and minus keys until it hits synchronization. I can't recall the exact name of the player, though; I tested it ages ago when it came bundled with PC Connection. If you actually want to save or burn the file, you have endless options. For instance, you could just strip the audio from the video and then remux it using a video editor. It’s pretty straightforward in Adobe Premiere—you import the video, lower the original audio volume, then bring back the extracted audio track, align it, and export.
