Besides, whatever he managed to pull off was just thanks to a few lucky breaks and a weird string of circumstances—he was practically invisible for most of the race.

And as for Vettel, the guy is an absolute alien—but look, the season has only just kicked off, and we'll see what happens eventually. Unless, of course, Red Bull runs into trouble because their car setup is so fundamentally different from everyone else's.🤷

But honestly, what can you even expect from them?
They've lost both Ross Brawn and Jean Todt, and the whole team dynamic is basically falling apart. Kimi couldn't care less—more than usual, anyway—and while Felipe Massa is giving it his all, it’s pretty much impossible to perform when you don't have real leadership at the helm.

Lewis Hamilton is only the best driver within McLaren... for now.☕

LOL... Vettel is such a reckless kid. I really wonder what becomes of him once he finally grows out of this phase and those hormones settle down... my prediction? A career about on par with Ralph Schumacher.👎

That "invisible" Hamilton actually pulled off some solid overtakes and held his ground with a few great defensive moves—he ended up 5th, but since the race was red-flagged, he had actually moved up into that position during the penultimate lap right before the stoppage. So, I genuinely have to ask: which race were you actually watching?🤷

What a chaotic race—kudos to Brawn, really. It’s becoming painfully obvious just how much that "holy trinity" meant to Ferrari. That look on Stefano Domenicali's face when Kimi radio in to say his tires were completely shot? Absolutely priceless.

Massa, man... look, you don't have to be a fan of him, but he suddenly seems a whole lot more likable after this. Though, honestly, if he’d just shave that ridiculous little beard of his, who knows where he might end up.

Button deserves serious credit here; even Barrichello didn't put up a bad fight.

Nick Heidfeld—still the quiet type who works hard behind the scenes. It's a real shame the BMW crew seems way too preoccupied with Lewis Hamilton to notice what he's doing.

Lewis Hamilton—I mean, he was wrestling a total junker of a car with the rev limiter stuck, yet he still managed to claw his way up to 5th. Out of everyone out there, he held his line the best and, most importantly, didn't screw anything up. Seriously, hats off to him.👍

As for Lewis, he basically headed out to go farming the second the first raindrops hit. I suspect the temperature or some sudden chill threw him off; I'll give him a pass this time, even if he's acting like he has no idea what he's doing or saying.👍

Vettel—well, he's got plenty of chocolate bars left to gobble up before he sees any real success.👎

Kimi looks seriously rough. Either he’s just not a good fit at Ferrari, or he's reached his absolute limit with everything... I mean, he can't possibly be this miserable. At this rate, he'll be retiring soon to go live somewhere frozen and remote in the middle of nowhere.

I’ve been hanging around this corner of the internet for about six or seven years now—though, to be fair, I was operating under a different handle back then—but regardless of the username, that "starks" persona just sits wrong with me. It honestly feels as unappealing as a spoiled paté sitting on your stomach. 😉

maybe he could pick something up along the way.

Keith Jones19 said:You know what... I honestly think Blazick and the rest of them were a bit too harsh on the guy. Look, he might not be the greatest talent to ever step into a cockpit, but let’s be real—we've seen plenty of champions who weren't even half as skilled as him (Damon Hill comes to mind, for instance).
Button's situation is just a perfect example of how much the car matters in this sport. These guys are all absolute masters behind the wheel, but until they all get seated in the exact same machine—which, let's face it, is never going to happen!—we'll never truly settle the debate of who's the best...

p.s.
Now that I've actually seen how lean Alonso is looking, I'm starting to wonder if that KERS setup is even going to save him at the start. 😕

Good grief.

Are you even watching F1 on ESPN anymore? 🤣

Blaz is clearly just a massive Button fanboy. 😂

stormybadger8 said:Technically, he didn't score much since Lewis Hamilton finished 3rd after being in 4th. Plus, if my two geniuses hadn't been busy fighting each other (Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica), he would've landed 6th—and there were plenty of other "brilliant" drivers out there too. All in all, great drive by Lewis Hamilton, but he got incredibly lucky. As for McLaren, their form is just unbelievably bad. Given their size, reputation, and massive budget, calling it "catastrophic" might actually be an understatement.😲

NBA

If my guys hadn't completely messed up with the new car, yours wouldn't have even been in the same zip code—they'd be a full lap behind. 🙄
stormybadger8 said:🤷I honestly don't get it. It's not like Hamilton outclassed Jarno Trulli, right? 😵 I'm genuinely stumped on how anyone could even justify this.🤷

All of this went down during the safety car period; Truly spun out like a complete amateur, so naturally, Hamilton moved ahead. Once he got back on track, Truly fought his way back past Hamilton to reclaim the spot—honestly, what is there to say about that, other than perhaps it might be time for Truly to consider trading the cockpit for a quiet vineyard somewhere out in Napa Valley.🤷
I should probably point out that the top three finishers were all running Mercedes engines

As for Ferrari.... did they even manage to cross the finish line?

On a side note, McLaren was just hoping to scrape a few points, but instead, they walked away with a 6-0 victory over Ferrari—which is honestly quite an achievement

It’s a total mystery what the people over at Ferrari are actually aiming for—maybe if that ridiculous little goatee of his brings Massin some luck, things might change
stormybadger8 said:http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns21313.html

🙄The FIA claims they stepped in because Sebastian Vettel basically confessed he was struggling but was hell-bent on keeping his spot.🙄

It’s pathetic. They're actually punishing drivers just for what they say. 😵 Forget the racing, let's all head to the Betting shops—Kimi was clearly the real champ in 2009. 😬 There's zero competition. ☕

And here's the proof I was talking about:

http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...29134226.shtml

So the FIA penalized a driver over a standard racing incident, all because of something Sebastian Vettel said over the Team radio.🙄

lol, well, I did warn you all that Vettel was digging his own grave by basically calling himself an idiot.🤣
Maria Nelson2 said:It’s not even about Vettel having to cough up fifty grand; it's more about the fact that his team basically ordered him to limp back to the pits on three wheels instead of just pulling off onto the grass like any sane person would. I remember seeing something similar back in the day during a rainy race in Seattle, where a driver was forced to grind through a broken car just to satisfy some corporate metric, and honestly, watching someone struggle through that kind of nonsense just feels exhausting.

I mean, honestly—when you go on a live broadcast immediately after an incident and basically call yourself an idiot, a $50k fine and a 10-place penalty feels like a pretty light sentence, doesn't it?🤷

I’d be willing to put my money on the fact that if he had, say, called Robert Kubica an idiot instead, the stewards would have handed down a much harsher penalty. When you serve yourself up on a silver platter like that, the officials don't really need to go hunting for someone to blame.
cosmicridge5 said:That's possible... but I was always taught that just because everyone else is worse than you, it doesn't mean you're actually good. 🤷 😁

Whatever, I'm just frustrated because of my own idiots, so I'm venting. 🙈 😁

It just means you're the least bad one out there.🤣
mistybear87 said:I usually catch these morning races from my three-seater setup in the living room, mostly just so I can drift off easier if the race ends up being a bit of a snooze fest. 😛

Well, nobody really cares about your sofa,

come on, give us some actual commentary on the race! Since you’re such a die-hard supporter of that completely obscure little team, you’re probably the only one capable of providing an objective breakdown of today's drivers. 👍
cosmicridge5 said:Well, if that isn't luck, I don't know what is. 🤷

I mean, if just doing your job is enough to land you on the podium, 😁

Louis wasn't exactly great today, but I guess he got lucky because everyone else was a complete disaster. 😁 🤷

:alcoholic: 🙈 😁

God knows, if it weren't for Lewis Hamilton and his incredible luck, Louis(TM) would have been on that podium. 🤷 In all honesty, Louis is basically the tragic figure of this race. 😁

But look, when you're constantly slamming your car into a wall—to the point where it starts feeling like a routine—then we aren't really talking about luck or misfortune anymore. 😛
velvetdrifter15 said:My friend, Hamilton would be sitting there with zero points if he didn't have such insane luck every single time, including this race! We'll see how things look once Kimi starts making his move.🙂

Look, man, Hamilton just drove his own race. It's much easier to swallow it as "just Hamilton being lucky" than to actually face the reality of the situation and admit: yeah, Ferrari messed up again, Kimi hit the wall yet again, Sebastian Vettel was an idiot, and so on and so forth... you can just fill in the blanks yourselves. 🤷
Honestly, what kind of nonsense is this? It’s actually getting a bit repulsive to see people tearing down Lewis Hamilton like this... I mean, his only "crime" is probably having more than two brain cells to rub together—he's clearly smart enough to avoid slamming into a wall or spinning out like some of those drunk drivers you see on the news

Up until yesterday, half the Ferrari fans were practically salivating at the thought of Lewis Hamilton jumping into an uncompetitive car just to see if he could finally shake things up. But today? Suddenly it's all about luck. Seriously, kudos to you guys and your incredibly flexible standards. He managed to drag a total junker of a car onto the podium, and if you have a problem with that, then honestly, just go deal with it yourselves
