Flu shots [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
I tried signing my mom up on Stamper using the email gripa@stamper.hr and instantly got an automated reply saying every single appointment is booked and I should just contact the local health department instead.

If I actually could, I’d do it in a heartbeat. 🙄

This is just great, absolutely fantastic. What a total circus. 🕺

Sent from my Boeing 787 using Reddit

She’s 79, so she’s absolutely eligible for the shot. She gets vaccinated every single year.
I'm with Michelle Evans on this one. Media hype is one thing, but reality is something else entirely.
Her doctor was pretty blunt about it—said she was actually cleared for 40 doses this year, but she turned down ordering that many just so she wouldn't have to play judge and decide who gets them and who doesn't... now I don't even know what to think.

Local pharmacies are completely tapped out. They aren't even taking orders because there's zero stock coming in—at least, that’s what a colleague of mine who works at one told me.
To make matters worse, my mom's primary care doctor flat-out refused to vaccinate her patients against the flu this year! She didn't even bother trying to order any doses; she just told everyone to head over to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention instead.
I’ve been through the ringer—plenty of hospital stays covered by insurance, surgeries, blood work, all those tests that get picked up by both my basic and supplemental plans. But honestly? These days, if you don't have that extra coverage, you're basically stuck with nothing.
But look, HEALTHCARE ISN'T EVEN THE POINT OF THIS THREAD!
Setting this specific case aside, at least here in the States we have insurance to lean on. We don't have to lose sleep over astronomical out-of-pocket costs or worrying about some provider finding a loophole to deny coverage for a basic procedure. Over there, everything is just raw gross versus net calculations.
But look, healthcare isn't even what this thread is about—I’m just letting my anxiety from that movie get the better of me!
Sicko was one of those movies that hit me hard back then, and honestly, it still hits just as hard today... I can't even pick out one specific scene, but man, the reality of living without health insurance? That’s a straight-up nightmare.
Plot summary of Apocalypse Now (2020) in Movies ·
This movie is a total wreck. It’s a great concept that was executed catastrophically.
Spike Lee should probably just retire at this point.

The movie about Judy Garland is coming out soon
What defines a "heavy" movie? in Movies ·
Honestly, anything emotionally draining just hits different for me. When I was younger, certain movies would literally keep me up at night. I don't have those extreme reactions anymore, but nowadays, if a film features heavy themes like abuse, it gets under my skin enough that I have to label it "emotionally heavy."

Then there are the movies with super complex plots that demand your full attention—those can be pretty taxing too.

Of course, when you get a movie that combines both an intense emotional toll and a complicated storyline, you've basically hit the cinematic jackpot. Luckily, those aren't exactly easy to find.
Venom (2018) in Movies ·
It honestly looks like Michelle Williams was blackmailed into taking this role, while Hardy is just cashing a paycheck to fund season 2 of Taboo.

Total brain rot. Nothing more, nothing less.

cosmicgull52 said:Haha, that's just you. You likely hit the wrong button on your player. It must have been entertaining to watch it that way. 😁

I actually thought that was how it was supposed to be since it's a comedy, a parody and all 🤦

Doesn't matter, I'm not rewatching it anyway because I didn't even like the movie...

It says the movie runs 1:46 on IMDb

To those of you claiming the film is way too short—maybe this happened to you: The version I watched at home felt totally sped up (like some Benny Hill sketch), and I didn't even realize how fast it was going until it ended, and it had only been about an hour.

Or am I just losing my mind here? 😵🤦
Is there anywhere in Washington, D.C. where I can get testing for chlamydia trachomatis IgG, IgA, and IgM? Is that basically just a blood test for chlamydia? I’ve already done several swabs and they came back totally clear every single time, so I'm really wondering—is this even necessary for me? This was suggested as part of my treatment plan at some out-of-town Clinic
Thanks

I thought Viggo was great in this 😉
From every angle, 🙂

The whole upbringing thing works for the story, but their logistics are totally unrealistic. Where does the money even come from for an operation like this? How do they handle freezing winters in the middle of nowhere? Where do they get stuff like boots, or what happens if someone actually needs a dentist? You've got six kids all rocking perfect, pearly white teeth. Give me a break 🙄
And most importantly—it’s obvious his late wife was probably dying to escape that lifestyle and wanted a change. It's a shame the movie didn't dig into that a bit more...

Word on the street is that Portman might just snag her second Oscar for this one. 😁

That’s exactly why they made the movie in the first place 🙄

As far as I'm concerned, I'll just skip it. ☕

I honestly found this pretty hilarious... It’s giving me total Sharknado or Two-Headed Shark vibes.
The beginning is actually decent—almost funny because of how ridiculous it is—but once they start walking around, it gets incredibly repetitive. You're basically just counting down the minutes until it ends... but hey, what can you do? Sometimes you just need a little trashy fun in your life. Even a steak gets old if you eat it every single day. ☕
13 Hours: The Siege of Benghazi (2016) in Movies ·
In short, it's pure propaganda. They hit all the usual beats: patriotism, the flag, the USA, family values... then they spice it up with plenty of gunfire and that classic American arrogance...

People keep claiming it’s not a typical Bay film, but please, it totally is—it just doesn't have Transformers ☕

Honestly, if the movie had focused a bit more on the ambassador and his specific story, it might have actually been interesting, like this 🥱

It felt so raw and real, like a genuine slice of life. But honestly? It was the romance that really got me. I got so swept up in it that I actually rewound the final scene three different times just to soak it all in again.
Such a beautiful film 🕺.

Saoirse was incredible; her performance was seriously top-tier.

I have to quote this, 🙂

Sandra Harris2 said:Honestly, Talijančić really rubbed me the wrong way. He felt kind of childish, especially with that cringey accent. They’ve barely known each other for a few days, and he's already pulling the "I love you, marry me" card 🤦

Were you even paying attention to the plot? It's pretty obvious in the movie that months, if not an entire year, have passed since they first met before he drops the whole "marry me" line.

And the film is absolutely gorgeous 🙏 (that was my own opinion, not directed at you)
