I want to know if I can get away with the cheaper Windows 7 Home edition and still run two separate user profiles like I described. One person just needs Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, while the other needs more advanced software and a customized desktop—you know, specific shortcuts for important files and folders—so they'll definitely need a password to access their account.
I noticed Group Policy isn't included in the Home version... hopefully there's some simpler workaround available.

Hey everyone, I'm looking to pick up a new PC in about two weeks. I need something capable of handling multitasking—programming, some light graphic design work in Photoshop and Illustrator, and general browsing. Nothing crazy, but I’m the type who always has half a dozen programs running, way too many browser tabs open, a YouTube stream playing in the background, and I'm constantly alt-tabbing through it all.
Just looking for the tower itself—this is an office machine, so zero interest in gaming. I definitely need licensed Windows, and it would be a huge plus if it comes pre-installed and ready to go out of the box. Also, silence is key; I don't want a jet engine on my desk. Budget-wise, I'm not entirely sure how things are priced these days, but let's say around $4,000, $1500 max.
I'd ideally like 8GB of RAM, and I have a preference for an Intel processor—purely out of habit, really, since I've always stuck with Intel. I'll need a 1TB hard drive, and I have absolutely no use for a DVD drive. I’d rather avoid that if possible. - Is a password mandatory for every login? I want to bypass it for the standard user—just a simple username entry—but obviously, the admin account will still need a password. - Also, regarding software: I don't want everything the admin has to be available to the standard user. All they really need is Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
Ideally, the standard user would just log in automatically without any typing at all. For the admin, I’d want to have to hit a specific key to trigger the login prompt—kind of like how you tap a key to boot into Linux or access the BIOS.

I’ll always just crank the settings down to low anyway. Heh, nobody gets it—not even when he was practically carved out of quartz. That whole thing happened at the hospital, mostly due to health issues—plus a little side project to fix my nose—but honestly, I’d still go smaller. I don't know, though; does that mean you have to reconstruct the entire nose? My issue is that I have a relatively small head and I'm pretty thin, so the nose just stands out way more than it should.🙄
