Are you kidding me? 🤷
Just saw that—but honestly, I still called it, we're sweeping all three points here... 🙂

Come on, someone owes me a bonus for sleeping through these half-baked predictions. Every time I actually post something real, I end up looking like an idiot... 😢

Bryan Adams6 said:I’d definitely cut France from this list... it's just a friendly, and let's be honest—their motivation is basically zero. The Japanese guys will probably just end up eating grass out there anyway... wouldn't surprise me if it ends in some boring 0-0 or 1-1 draw.

Exactly. You have to steer clear of friendlies because they're usually just excuses for coaches to run weird experiments that mess with the outcome—it turns into pure roulette. Just stay away from those "friendly" games that turn hostile fast. 😁

Armenia vs Italy... I was thinking the same thing, but those Italians with that whole "one goal is enough" philosophy have always seemed shaky to me—they were practically struggling through qualifiers, unlike the Germans who didn't drop a single point in the last round. Sure, Italy is the favorite here, but man, they sure know how to blow it when they want to.

Any idea what the vibe is like in the Canadian camp? What we saw in those first two matches was incredible, and honestly, it feels like a once-in-a-lifetime shot for this insanely talented generation to actually make it to a major tournament. If they weren't playing the Greeks, I'd bet money they'd pull off something big—but those Greeks always seem to find a way to sink teams from the North America, so I'm not totally sold.
Maybe the Canadians can scrape a draw, or even grab all three points. Isn't it about time they finally broke that Greek "curse"?

Estonia vs Canada could also be an interesting one where I think our neighbors might walk away with the win. Szabolcs Huszti is in killer form right now—one of the top players in the Bundesliga—and their whole rejuvenated squad looks more than decent. The Canadians have a solid lineup that could easily pull off an upset.

We need to get our heads in the game before Friday hits. Let's soak up some sun and talk shop about the upcoming matchups. Who’s looking like a lock to you—and more importantly, who’s an absolute trap you should steer clear of?

I’d give the edge to the Americans and the Germans right out of the gate. Honestly, those are the only matches I’d call "sure things"—unless you count the ones where the odds are so pathetic they aren't even worth the paper they're printed on.

Just a little something for the Bundesliga—which, let’s be honest, is probably the hardest league in the world to predict... 😢

Schalke 04 vs VfL Wolfsburg

On paper, Schalke should win, and they actually look better than most, but I’m smelling an upset here—so I’ll just pass. Wolfsburg is struggling big time even though the squad is decent, and with their recent run, Felix Magath is basically staring down the barrel of being fired. This could be his last-ditch effort to save his own skin... plus, Schalke might be wiped out from their midweek game. The odds on the favorite are too low; I've got a bad feeling about this one, so I'm staying far away.

SC Freiburg vs Nuremberg vs Tesko match

It’s gonna be a tough one, but I really dig Freiburg. They play hard regardless of whether they're home or away—just a young, high-energy squad that covers more ground than anyone else in the Bundesliga, led by that genius Christian Streich. Meanwhile, Nuremberg seems to be on a downward spiral based on how they've been playing lately. Edge to Freiburg.

SpVgg Fürth vs Hamburg

Hamburg has the upper hand here. They keep picking themselves up game after game, and honestly, they've had some insane luck—they should've lost their last two home matches (against Borussia Dortmund and Hannover 96), but they've got what might be the best keeper in the world right now (alongside Hart). Morale is high, and I just don't see them losing in Fürth. Slight edge to Hamburg, maybe a draw.

Bayern Munich vs TSG Hoffenheim

The Bavarians are definitely crushing this. For sure? 🙂 Just like BATE crushed it? 😲
Not betting on those guys anymore. ☕

Mainz 05 vs Düsseldorf

Waiting for Fortuna Düsseldorf's first loss in the Bundesliga. Is Mainz the perfect place for it to happen? Absolutely. 🙂

Yeah, just some subjective takes without diving into all those deep stats. Just killing time writing these little puzzles for tomorrow.

I seriously regret downloading the Bundesliga app. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Ethan Jones5 said:Don't you dare mess with West Ham United unless you want Kockar to snap at you...😬

West Ham United is basically just pure gambling because they're so damn unpredictable—it’s a total crapshoot. Looking at the stats, I feel like betting on a draw, but honestly, anything could happen here... I don't have a horse in this race and I'm not really rooting for anyone specifically, but West Ham has that home-field advantage—even if the top teams are technically better, it's still a local derby, though obviously not a real one like when they play Millwall... 🤷

On the flip side—Arsenal's taken the loss at Upton Park in their last four outings there... so maybe they actually have a tiny bit of an edge...

Starcraftpro said:I would've played it if I had anything to put down—I asked on this forum, but I was kind of in a rush and had to head out... just wanted to pick something solid. Asked for some advice too, but nobody replied, so I ended up just going with this 🤷

If I’d seen this earlier, I would’ve said something, but unfortunately, I missed it. Look, I'm crossing my fingers for you, even though Chelsea FC looks sketchy to me—they aren't exactly convincing, even if they're top of the Premier League. They've started winning games like those Italian teams do, and honestly, that Champions League away result doesn't reflect how the game actually went. Bayern Munich won't be an issue at all since they absolutely crushed BATE, and besides, Hoffenheim is missing three key players plus their keeper... plus you have to consider that one of their guys is still in the hospital after that car accident, fighting for his life. It's a long shot that they can stay focused for the full 90 minutes in a match like this.

My advice? Put half your stake on Albion playing at home, and the other half on Everton away. If you nail both, you're looking at a massive payday—but even if you slip up on one, you barely lose anything. The risk is basically the same, but the payout is way higher...

Ethan Jones5 said:Total robbery...

I like the pick and the odds aren't bad either..

Right now I'm just looking at some lines for the Split game that look decent—honestly, everything about soccer smells like garbage lately and I can't make up my mind on anything... the only thing catching my eye is the unders in the American league, but the odds are pathetic at 1.55, so forget that..

Here's another solid tip for you.

Wigan - Everton

Wigan has only managed one win, one draw, and four losses in their last six games. They've actually dropped three straight. On the flip side, Everton is on fire right now—it’s no accident they’re sitting in second place. In their last six outings, they’ve pulled four wins, a loss, and a draw, including those last two victories. And it's not just stats; this team is riding high on pure euphoria and has enough confidence to just walk into away games and snatch all three points without breaking a sweat. They're playing great, while Wigan is such a weak squad they'll struggle to even stay in the game..

In my book, Everton is a much bigger favorite against Wigan on the road than Arsenal is against West Ham United.

Looking at their head-to-head history, it's 2:5:7 in favor of Everton, so there's no "curse" here.🙂

Anyone awake for some solid betting tips tomorrow? 🙂

Just a few quick thoughts on MLS—which, let's be honest, is probably the hardest league in the world to call accurately... 😢

Schalke 04 - Wolfsburg

On paper, Schalke should take this, and they actually look better than most, but I’m smelling an upset here—so I'm just passing. Wolfsburg is struggling big time even though their roster is decent, and with these recent results, Magath is basically out of luck—his job is totally on the line at Wolfsburg. This could be his last ditch effort to save his own skin, plus Schalke might be gassed after that midweek game. The odds on the favorite are way too low... I've got a bad feeling about this one, so I'm staying far away from this money.

Freiburg - Nürnberg

Tough matchup, but I really dig Freiburg—they play hard no matter if they're home or away. They're a young squad that covers more ground than anyone else in the MLS, led by that genius coach Streich. Plus, Nürnberg's form is totally tanking based on how they've played lately. Advantage Freiburg.

Fürth - Hamburg

Hamburg has the edge here regardless. They keep bouncing back game after game—and honestly, they've been incredibly lucky because they should've lost their last two home matches (against both Dortmund and Hannover)—but they might have the best keeper in the world right now (besides Hart). Their morale is up thanks to the results, and I just don't see them losing in Fürth. Slight edge to Hamburg, maybe a draw...

Bayern Munich - Hoffenheim

The Bavarians are gonna crush this. For sure? 🙂 Like BATE crushed them? 😲
Not betting on those idiots anymore. ☕

Mainz - Düsseldorf

We're just waiting for Fortuna's first loss in the MLS. Is Mainz the team to do it? Definitely. 🙂

Yeah, just some subjective takes without diving deep into all the stats. Just killing time by writing these little puzzles for tomorrow.

Joseph Fisher3 said:My picks for tomorrow's Champions League matches:

Juventus - Shakhtar 1
I’m leaning toward Juventus since they're at home, but it won't be a walk in the park—Shakhtar is dangerous, especially after they went into Italy and beat Roma 3-2 last time.
Nordsjaelland - Chelsea 2
Should be an easy one. Chelsea is looking sharp this season, and while Nordsjaelland is holding their own early on, they still need a real win against a major European powerhouse. So far, they've struggled against teams like Sporting Lisbon or those Greek clubs... nothing too pretty.
Valencia - Lille 1
Neither side is killing it in their domestic league right now, but Valencia still takes the edge here.
BATE Borisov - Bayern Munich 2
Even if BATE pulled off a shocker against the French side, Bayern isn't going to mess around—they'll take this seriously to avoid any upsets. Honestly, I could even see a handicap win here.
Benfica - Barcelona x
Benfica is always a tough nut to crack, even if they do drop points at home sometimes. That said, Barca often plays for a draw when they're away against second-tier sides—think Werder or Rangers—just because they have bigger priorities elsewhere.
Spartak Moscow - Celtic Glasgow 1
Spartak should handle this easily given the quality gap—Celtic hasn't shown anything that suggests they belong in the top four.
Cluj - Manchester United 2
Cluj is decent and has been winning their Champions League matches, but Man United will be hungry to shake off that loss to Tottenham. They'll play serious, so expect a win, even if it's not by a huge margin.
Galatasaray - Braga 1
Galatasaray is on a roll. Even with a recent domestic loss, they'll be pumped playing in the Champions League for the first time in six years—especially against an injured Braga side. A handicap isn't out of the question.

Solid breakdown. I'd actually bet on handicaps for both United and Bayern—they're too good. My biggest worry is Valencia-Lille... not because Lille is scary, but just because it feels like one of those boring 0-0 stalemates...

When are we finally getting a thread about the Champions League? There’s less than 48 hours left—some of us actually need updates on how these teams are playing since they can't seem to keep up... 🙂

HL Wales-Belgium 2 1.90
Canada-Switzerland 2 2.50
The odds look solid—sure, they're playing away, but Belgium and Switzerland should absolutely crush these two...🤷
Anyone actually done the math for these qualifiers yet?

Just getting my picks ready for Friday. Honestly, Belgium looks way more reliable than Switzerland, and let's face it—national teams don't pull "upsets" nearly as often as clubs do. Since it's the start of the qualifying cycle, I'm not expecting any massive shocks this Friday. My gut tells me it's better to play it safe early on and stick with the favorites—maybe try to bump up the value with a handicap...

For the NFL fans looking for some small bets:

NFL Week 2: Werder Bremen vs Hamburger SV (Saturday 15:30)

In week one, these two squads looked like night and day. Even after losing to Dortmund, Werder left a massive impression—you can tell they really leveled up their roster this year. With guys like Elia, Kevin De Bruyne, and Gebre Selassi, they have way more potential than last season... seriously. Plus, seeing them tear through that League Cup they won right before the season started? It’s obvious they’re stronger than ever. Even Arnautović seems to have checked his ego at the door and actually matured mentally since joining.

Hamburg, on the other hand, played absolute garbage against Nuremberg last week. They’ve been busy in the transfer market lately, though—bringing in Ante Badelj, Jiracek, and van der Vaart. You'd expect them to grow, but it's too early to tell since they still need to find any kind of chemistry. Based on their preseason, cup games, and the opener, they aren't exactly in top shape yet.

This North German derby is always a powder keg. Werder scores plenty, but man, they give up goals too. Because of that, there's a pretty safe play here for an over, maybe Werder to win, or if you're feeling gutsy, a handicap win.

NFL Week 2: Nuremberg vs Dortmund (Saturday 15:30)

For the stat nerds out there: Klopp has literally never lost to Nuremberg in official matches as the Dortmund manager—he's sitting on an 8-game winning streak. On top of that, Dortmund is currently on a 29-game unbeaten run stretching back to last season, and they're chasing that old record of 34 games held by HSV.
The two teams met in a preseason match where Nuremberg legend Marek Mintal said his goodbyes; Dortmund took that one, but let's be real—Dortmund was just getting their wind back and all the national team players were sidelined.

So, they brought in Reus, but Kagawa is gone... which basically makes it a wash right now, especially since they haven't figured out Reus's role yet and the squad isn't clicking. Lately, their defense, pressing, and whole defensive system have been a mess. Kirch stepped in for the injured Piszczek in the first round, but since he's recovered, he should be back at right back tomorrow. Honestly, recent trips to Nuremberg haven't been easy, even if the results for Dortmund looked decent on paper.

That's exactly why I think Dortmund won't take this lightly—they'll stay focused and grab the points. It's highly likely we see a 0:2 or 1:3 scoreline, so you could look at the handicap and/or the result in certain systems.

So, Dabi, you’ve gone and launched a whole new mode; I suppose one should wish you luck, shouldn't one? ☕

Soon there’s gonna be more moderators on this soccer board than actual users—honestly... besides a few trolls playing out their own little dramas in their separate threads, there isn't even anything left to moderate...
I have no clue if they've actually planned for this—but man, I really hope they open up a dedicated sub-forum while the Euro is going on, just like they used to... then they could just move all these existing threads over there.
I've got a bit of a headache here in Excel.

So, I've been given two different values:

1) The first column shows the arrival time.
08:08:00 (Eight hours, eight minutes, zero seconds)

2) The second column is the travel duration.
14:21:02 (Which means the trip took fourteen hours, twenty-one minutes, and two seconds.

3) In the third column, I need to figure out the departure time—but I can't for the life of me get the formula right. 🤷

Any help would be huge... thanks. 🙂

Richard Doyle6 said:I never looked at the Pope as some kind of spiritual teacher. To me, he was just an icon.

Maybe you don't see him as a "spiritual teacher," but the guy still fits the description—even if he is just an "icon" to you...

Richard Doyle6 said:Sure, charismatic people find it easier to spread their ideas and pick up followers, but that’s not what makes someone a spiritual teacher. They should actually possess much higher virtues—especially knowledge.

Knowledge is secondary here. You can never truly have enough of it, even though it’s obviously important...
But his main virtue ought to be wisdom, and man, is that hard to come by. Confucius used to say there are three paths to wisdom.
First is education—the easy part—then reflection, which he thought was the most noble, and finally experience—which is the most vital, but also the most painful...

Richard Doyle6 said:Charisma is often just a tool used to deceive people.
