Sex Ed thread - locked and moved to Close Politician. in Feedback & Suggestions ·

Later. 😉

You should be ashamed👎

James Patel20 only got slapped with a ban because he dropped those links for Theo, which clearly had nothing to do with the topic. Funny how it actually tied back to Reisamanica, though—as soon as people started digging into him, they shut the whole thread down immediately. (I'm talking about that Reisman thread). Total blinders. It’s pathetic. 👎

It's your call what you do with this post, but I've said my piece.☕

Thanks for all the posts😁

Honestly, I was starting to think my thread wouldn't get a single reply.

What's your dream music club? in Music ·
It’s a pretty simple question: what’s your dream music club? Are you all about live bands, or do you prefer a DJ spinning tracks? Or honestly, does it even matter where you and your crew end up hanging out?
Do you dig a seamless mix, or do you want to hear songs played one by one?

I’ve hit plenty of clubs in Washington, D.C. (the ones that play alternative stuff😁), and I’ve checked out spots back in my hometown too. Personally, I’ll take the D.C. scene any day. Even when the music was questionable, they actually tried to throw in some musical surprises instead of just blasting the same old hits over and over. Back home? Total disaster. It’s just the same repetitive garbage on loop.

For me, the perfect club would spin indie/alternative tracks and run from 6 PM until midnight—extending to 2 AM during the summer. They'd be open Fridays and Saturdays. On Fridays, we're talking retro vibes from various decades, and on Saturdays, everything current from 2001 to now. No repeats allowed. That’s basically the gist (okay, maybe that’s asking too much, but still🤷)

So, you can look at this two ways: either talk about where you actually have the best time without turning it into a bunch of club advertisements, or just use your imagination to design your own ultimate venue. I don't see anything wrong with letting our imagination run wild when discussing music, right?🤷

I mean, you aren't exactly starting this thread on the right foot☕

I listened to them a bit back when their first album dropped🙂
Amadou & Mariam in Bamako

I actually have this album sitting right here at home—the original CD.😁

In a Review for AllMusic, Chris Nickson handed the album a solid four out of five stars.[3] Joe Tangar of Pitchfork Media rated it an 8 out of 10, basically saying it’d be a total crime if this didn't launch Amadou & Mariam straight into superstardom.[4] Spin even ranked it as the 33rd best album of 2005.[5] And Mojo's David Hutcheon gave it four stars too.[6]

The record picked up a Grammy Awards for World Music Best Album Award in 2006, which also helped the duo snag the African section of those same awards that year. Plus, it made the cut for Rolling Stone's 10 Best World Music albums of the year.

Rolling Stone also listed it as the 39th best album of the entire decade.[7]

☕

It really hit home with people, too, especially since it falls under that whole world music vibe.

One track from The Reality even managed to hit #1 on mainstream radio and crack the Top 40 here in the States.

They teamed up with Manu Cha, which definitely gave them that extra push on the global charts.

Makis Ablianitis - Love secret

At first listen, it totally gives me those old-school folk ballad vibes.😁

Now I've got this Greek track stuck in my head (well, actually in my ear!😁)!

XIMERONI.- NANA MOUSKOURI.

WHAT A BANGER! 🙏 🙏 🙏
I had a thread like this before, but I think it totally tanked.😢

I'm obsessed with Afro beats!😁

Is it just me, or is there basically nobody on this forum listening to it?
@fadedrider17/">@@fadedrider17, alright, I'm about to settle this whole debate regarding Americans versus Europeans once and for all.😁

Rhoma Irama - Begadang

AMADOU & MARIAM SABALI

I'm pretty sure this second one is way more famous.😁
Zachary Wilson30 said:Here are two tracks that actually deserve some love but don't get nearly enough spotlight;

The Alan Parsons Project - The Raven

Supertramp - Fool's Overture

btw.
Mad World? What do you mean unknown? And specifically the Gary Jules version? If anything, the Tears for Fears original is the underrated one here—totally deserves more hype. Honestly, if it wasn't for the movie, nobody would even know it exists..

The first one sounds like a vibe, but you listed the same song twice for the second one, so I'm fixing that right now.
Fool's Overture - Supertramp

🙂
Just remembered two more tracks, both dropped back in 2010.😁
I’d say they lean pretty hard into that alt-R&B or alternative urban vibe.😁

Janelle Monáe - "sir Greendown"

How to Dress Well - Decisions FT Yuksel Arslan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDmwavcQdwE

How to Dress Well is actually the project name, while "Decisions" is the track itself. As for Yuksel Arslan, I don't think he's singing—pretty sure he's just the guy behind the music video, though this clip is basically just a static visual for the song.
It honestly sounds like if a band like Radiohead or maybe even Sigur Ros decided to record an R&B/pop track, or like OneRepublic went for something way less commercial.😛

It’s honestly such a cheap shot when people rip a single line out of context just to wave it around and claim that’s what the author actually meant.🙂

Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. My first real encounter with his music was probably back when I was just sipping juice boxes in middle school.🤣

Best movies from the 1940s? in Movies ·
I think out of all those titles, I've only actually sat through Citizen Kane and It's a Wonderful Life.
Honestly, It's a Wonderful Life is the absolute best movie ever made🙏🙏
Citizen Kane is great too, but you know, more for that dry, intellectual vibe.🙂
Changing the blog name? Yeah, that’s a massive upgrade already.😉
