The idea of redefining marriage—or just watching the whole institution vanish—isn't some new invention by the LGBTQ+ movement; it actually stems from feminism.
A certain wing of the feminist movement views traditional marriage as nothing more than a cage for women, a system designed to reduce them to mere biological functions like motherhood or childcare.
Since the LGBTQ+ community and feminist activists occupy the same side of the political spectrum, they’ve become natural allies, constantly backing one another up.
Back when the "marriage equality" movement first kicked off, there was a massive debate over whether pursuing it was worth it. Some argued it was just giving more legitimacy to an outdated institution, while others felt like we were essentially "betraying our sisters."
Ultimately, the consensus landed on equality being the priority. Everyone should have the right to enter into a marriage if they choose, even if they aren't doing it out of any specific ideological motivation.

This might be the most blatant attempt to dodge the actual point

I gotta hand it to you, 👍

So basically, we just have to shut up and swallow it because our feminist friends say so, right? 🤔

Bolden. Seriously, why is anyone even asking for the right to join an outdated institution? 🤔

Looking at the video, it’s obvious: everyone is on board with tearing marriage down. Everyone agrees, even if they’re just staying quiet about it. PERIOD.

Now you're claiming it's an obsolete institution (or are you just parroting what they say?). If it's so "outdated," why the hell were they whining so much about the right to marry in the first place? VERY INTERESTING.
Judas; said:What do you mean "everyone"? You really think a handful of guys in the spotlight represent the ENTIRE LGBTQ+ community—or even just a tiny slice of it? It’s a question.

They aren't representing the whole gay population; they're pushing an agenda.

Quincy:
And what makes you an expert on what counts as hate speech and what doesn't? You clearly have no clue what that term actually means, but hey, it sounds fancy, so you just throw it around until you're blue in the face where it doesn't even belong.
Maybe I don't. 🤷

Trying to tear down the institution of marriage isn't just hate speech; it's a blueprint for hatred itself.

Quincy:
I expected a much more serious approach from someone claiming to be such a defender of marriage. How is it possible you haven't even watched the full video yet?
Totally ridiculous.
I read the article that tracks the whole debate.

The statement at the 1:29 mark is crystal clear.

Quincy:
What on earth does their whining and nonsense have to do with you?
It has everything to do with me. They're talking about destroying marriage, yet all this time they've been painting us as the ones infringing on people's rights.

So if that's not the case, then the other participants need to step up and publicly distance themselves from that talk about destroying marriage.
Jessica Kelly4 said:The most interesting part of this whole saga is how people argue that marriage is something that needs to be dismantled.
When you consider that most of the gay community doesn't even care about marriage—and that political focus on gay marriage is inversely proportional to their actual interest—it’s easy to connect the dots when you add in all those statements from movement leaders and pseudo-ideologues calling for the destruction of marriage.

And the second a large group of people stands up to defend marriage, they immediately start throwing around labels like "chauvinism" to try and shut everyone up.

I honestly don't get how they aren't embarrassed to still be pushing these views.

Are people really that blind?

It's funny, because if you actually dug into the truth of it, they'd do anything to avoid talking about it.
bluerider63 said:Reverse psychology is a total game changer if you play it right. These days, calling out a chauvinist for being a chauvinist is somehow treated like hate speech, even when they’re busy spewing all those typical bigoted views toward some minority group.

Are you actually playing dumb on purpose?☕

Anyway, I read the whole article covering what went down at the conference.

The guy wants to tear down marriage and nobody's even stopping him. And we aren't talking about the gay community here; it's about gender ideology. It's true, Judas, they don't represent the views of the entire gay population.

Someone asked how such a tiny percentage of people can threaten the majority. Well, it all depends on what kind of positions those few people hold within the country.

It really just comes down to the fact that some people flat-out refuse to accept reality. They just keep spinning and spinning even though everything is crystal clear. Total pros at gaslighting and making excuses. ☕
bluecyclist64 said:Yeah, and?
Where exactly is the hate speech in that?
What, if someone said they wanted to drain Central Park, would you call that hate speech too?

It’s nothing more than mindless bluster. Calling that hate speech is a stretch, for heaven's sake...

comparing it to Central Park 🙄

But how is it "nonsense" now when everyone was all about marriage before? ☕

To me, that sounds like "we're gonna destroy marriage," and then next thing you know, they're calling anyone who disagrees a fascist. Does nobody actually agree with that?

EDIT: maybe I should actually sit down and watch the whole video. I think he’s arguing that making same-sex marriage a right is just a pre-political move designed specifically to tear down the institution of marriage.

Does this group even realize what they're doing? They were whining about their rights being taken away, and now they're out here pushing an initiative to wreck marriage in the exact same month. Can anyone here actually do basic math? ☕
rowdytiger13 said:Well, I'll weigh in on the video...
Duhacek really needs to do something about that level of stupidity; it's getting ridiculous. At this rate, he'll have a heart attack just from reading all this.

bluecyclist64 said:What exactly is supposed to be "interesting"?

And more importantly, where is this legendary "hate speech" everyone keeps shouting about? I sat through about four minutes of this, and frankly, I didn't see anything remotely controversial.

The guy basically says marriage should be destroyed. And the dude he's talking to is just nodding along like, "yeah, sure." This all supposedly happened back in May when that whole movement kicked off. He starts going on about fascists—he isn't even talking about marriage equality at that point, he's talking about total destruction. And the crowd? Just silent agreement.

Some people just don't have a filter. ☕

Sure, you can try to dodge the subject by bringing up weight, acting like we didn't hear him or that it wasn't what actually happened. ☕
bluecyclist64 said:Which video are we talking about? You didn't provide a link.
My connection is acting up and crawling along today. What exactly is being claimed in this supposed video?

Jason Campbell70 said:A rather charming little incident.
Or whatever they call physical assaults on people with differing opinions these days.

Check out 1:29, pretty interesting.

Look, Jason Campbell70, are you actually making a point here or just trolling? It’s hilarious how the liberals suddenly go silent on this one, yet they won't stop spewing their usual garbage. ☕
bluecyclist64 said:I’ve been scrolling through this entire thread, and frankly, I haven't encountered a single instance of hate speech coming from any of the LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.

Could someone please rename this thread? The current title is completely devoid of logic.

Did you even watch the video though?
rowdytiger13 said:Well, if they just went ahead and euthanized them all—exactly how some people here seem to suggest I would—I don't think we'd ever actually get to that point.🙂
(responding to redbear12)

I didn't pull this whole mess in France out of thin air. And I certainly didn't make up that part where the guy basically gives the green light to destroying marriage without anyone standing up to him. 😍

Maybe the stuff he’s talking about, or just the general vibe over in France, is one of those situations where things are mostly bad, but there's a tiny bit of good mixed in. There's a little light in every dark situation, right? 🙂
France strips officials of conscience rights regarding same-sex weddings
Before the law passed this past May legalizing same-sex marriage in France, a massive wave of French mayors acting as officiants stood up and said they wouldn't perform those ceremonies. Around 20,100 of them actually banded together under an association called "Mayor for a Child" to protect civil servants who have religious or moral objections to marrying same-sex couples. Take Jean-Michel Colo, the mayor over in Arcangues near Biarritz—he refused to marry two men alongside seven of his assistants. He racked up about 1,500 letters of support in June, but ended up getting threatened with a lawsuit by the couple involved. Honestly? The guy wasn't sweating fines, jail time, or even being kicked out of office. "If I have to go to the guillotine, so be it!" Jean-Michel Colo declared. The "Mayor for a Child" group had his back, too. "We're ready to foot the bill for his legal defense," said Franck Meyer, the group's spokesperson. "Look, we respect the mayors who choose to marry same-sex couples, but that respect has to go both ways. You've got to respect the people refusing this 'civilizational shift' forced on them by this law. Their freedom of conscience matters." Too bad the Supreme Court, the highest legal authority in France, just ruled that mayors don't get to claim conscience protections.

Long live Europe!

Long live democracy!

Long live human rights!
So, if we call someone a communist, does that count as hate speech? 🤔

Or if we call them fascists when we actually have the receipts to prove it—is that also hate speech? 🤔

brightheron64 said:The moderator deleted my post, but I really feel like I owe you a proper response...

So, what I was getting at was... I suppose I should start by saying that sometimes, one simply finds themselves lost in thought, drifting through ideas without much of a destination in mind... There’s a certain thing that many people here haven't actually lived through, even though they seem so eager to jump in and share their opinions on it...

I wanted to mention that instead of... We all carry a bit of that old leader's legacy within us... It doesn't really call for something like... In many ways, we all share a bit of that same spirit found in Željka Markić....

By the way, I still haven't hung a picture of Markic on my wall yet.😎

The woman is leading a movement based on common sense. Period. She didn't write massive scientific textbooks just to gain followers—she doesn't have any. This whole comparison to Marshall is pointless. She basically said the sky is blue, and people just accepted it, which is why we're all stuck in this hive mind.

The LGBTQ+ crowd basically admitted they want to dismantle marriage. The first step is clearly just the desire, and eventually, it'll just be about forcing equality between gay and straight marriage.
Some guy at the rally said he agreed, and nobody even stood up to object.

It's funny how two different topics got mashed together here just so everyone can pivot to talking about "hate speech." It feels like the Liberals are dodging my video like a snake hiding its tail.
brightheron64 said:I honestly feel like some of the people mentioned above could really benefit from a private, one-on-one sit-down with a professional psychiatrist... It makes you wonder, though—hasn't the LGBT community actually been the most vocal group lately when it comes to pushing for legal marriage equality? So, how is it that they’re the ones supposedly questioning the very institution of marriage in the first place? Is this just some new conspiracy unfolding on our stage?

Hey everyone, have we really sunk to the level of that old paraphrased slogan: We're all basically on Željko Markić's side here?

Ugh, it’s pure déjà vu for me... the kind of thing you all seem to dread so much, yet you've clearly never actually experienced it yourselves, so you just talk big without having any clue what legally established mind control actually feels like... 🙄

I gotta be honest, I didn't quite catch the brilliance in this massive wealth of thought here.🤷

Can you actually explain what you're trying to say here?😕
Jack Cook7 said:Can we please stick to the actual topic here—the need to call out the hate speech coming from various LGBT groups, their spokespeople, and their lobbyists?

If some member of the LGBT community, an activist from one of those organizations, or whoever else claims they want to dismantle marriage, that’s not what this thread is about.

For now, just making sure democratic processes are respected should be enough. This whole "destroying marriage" thing? That’s way beyond mere hate speech.

Listen, if we push too hard, they’ll just start whining. Honestly, they're probably hoping to provoke someone just so they have an excuse to play the victim. I said we should take action, but I’m still on the fence. For now, sticking to the basics is plenty.
The government needs to stop handing them cash, but oh wait, then we'd have to talk about church funding. 🙂

So, I just posted this video on political news where the LGBT crowd basically admits they want to tear marriage apart, and now suddenly Jurasica and Jurčić are acting like they're the victims here. Make up your minds already. ☕
Interesting how the liberals just vanished. They haven't really made much noise yet. ☕

bluerider63 said:How does a group making up less than 10% of the population manage to tear down the entire institution of marriage—something that’s supposed to be a universal right and the natural result of love and building a life together?

This isn't just about LGBT people. That's only one slice of what's actually going on in this movement.

Sure they can, depending on where they stand or where they end up landing in society.

Look, Braun just refuses to see what's right in front of his face. They're constantly demanding more proof, but if this doesn't cut it for them, then I honestly don't know what will. 🤷
Is destroying marriage the ultimate endgame for the LGBT movement?

And of course, we hit the absolute peak of insanity here. Slaven Crnić, a cultural studies master from Seattle, a queer activist, and a workshop leader for the Pride Parade who was sitting front and center, practically vibrating with impatience to talk more about his Marxist agenda, ended up saying what they didn't even have time to finish during the debate:

"When you look at this on a political, activist, and philosophical level—and how those levels bleed into public discourse—it means the LGBT movement is inherently leftist. For ten years now, within the context of the Middle East, amidst wild privatization, surging nationalism, and the crushing of workers' rights and all those mental and philosophical constructs regarding property—we don't actually view marriage as private property anymore; we’re communicating that marriage should be destroyed... Regarding the question of marriage, I agree that marriage should be abolished, so it doesn't look like I'm defending the right to marry, but marriage, just like other rights, is private property. It's the same way factories or various technological achievements are. In that context, I think we have to conclude that the LGBT movement is, a priori, a radically left-wing movement..."

Gordan Duhaček, the current coordinator for the Pride Parade and the panel moderator, basically said he agreed with everything Slaven said and then wrapped up the session.

The Pride Parade even shared the video of the panel on Facebook with the caption: "Note that the best part comes right at the end."

That "best part" the Pride Parade is so warmly recommending can be found at the 1:29 mark:

Marriage Referendum: What are your thoughts? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Can we move this over to Politics? It’s basically political news at this point anyway. I want to reopen this thread because things are starting to heat up again out there ☕
Where did all the deleted posts on Politics go? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
People are always getting nuked in the politics sub, usually for one reason or another. If we want these debates to actually flow without everyone feeling like they’re being silenced or censored, why not just start a deleted posts log? Mods could just pin the original message there before they hit delete.

Wouldn't that be a way to keep things politically correct while keeping everyone happy? ☕
What was "pop music" before pop music? in Music ·
It seems to me like everyone is obsessed with tracking the evolution of music, but they always pivot toward the heavy stuff and label it "classical." Meanwhile, they track pop music starting from the 50s, acting like nothing catchy existed before then. I’m talking about music that actually has some soul but keeps a simple structure—stuff that feels like a modern pop ballad if you really think about it.

Why hasn't anyone bothered to trace the development of "popular" music (you know, the hits for the masses) throughout American history, maybe starting from the Middle Ages all the way up to now?

I'm looking for something that bridges the gap between classical compositions and what we'd call folk music today.

A few examples:

Douce dame jolie

Summer 3/3
