Hey again,
Just following up on my last post.
Had another checkup at the hospital today after finishing that two-month round of treatment (Diamox tablets twice a day plus Trusopt drops three times a day), and things are looking way better. I can actually feel the difference myself—the clarity and vision in my bad eye are pretty much caught up to my good one now. My OCT scan confirmed it too; looks like the Diamox managed to pull almost all the fluid out from under my retina. Still, they put me on another month of Trusopt drops, three times a day.
Hopefully, this is finally in the clear. I'm just crossing my fingers that the fluid doesn't start creeping back under the retina again... Best of luck to everyone!

Is that generally considered inadvisable?
Nah, they didn't mention anything about monitoring or taking potassium, and they definitely didn't give me a heads-up on what kind of side effects I might deal with from Diamox. Thanks for the comment, peace.
Hey, what's up everyone who's been typing in this thread so far.
I guess I'll jump in with my own story. At the start of July, I got diagnosed with CSCR in my left eye. I ended up hitting the emergency ophthalmology department at Vinogradski Hospital because, honestly, I lost like 30-40% of my vision basically overnight. Besides just losing sight, everything in that eye looked smaller, blurry—kind of like looking through water or something—distorted, and way darker than my right eye. It was like someone pulled a curtain over the image and dimmed it down.
So, just like most other patients and based on what I read in the previous posts, they checked my vision first. After that, they did an OCT of my macula, which led to the diagnosis of neurosensory retina detachment in the left eye. Once the doctor had the printed images from the OCT, he explained what all that stuff meant and prescribed some treatment.
The treatment was this:
1) Yellox drops (2x daily)
2) Trusopt drops (2x daily)
Follow-up in a month.
Well, a month has passed, and I went back to Vinogradski for a check-up about a week ago. My personal feeling over this past month was that there wasn't any improvement, maybe even that things were slightly worse, and unfortunately, that turned out to be true. Right when I got there, they dilated my eyes a couple of times and sent me straight into the room for another OCT. The results were pretty much identical to the last one, except the retinal detachment was actually a few microns larger. To make matters worse, the bottom part of the retina (the detached part) looked jagged instead of smooth like before, so there's some actual damage now, and my eye pressure went up a bit too. Basically, it's gotten worse compared to how it started, despite a month of Yellox and Trusopt. So, I got a new, different treatment plan. They cut the Yellox entirely and kept the Trusopt, but bumped it up from 2x a day to 3x a day. I also got prescribed Diamox tablets, which I have to take as 2x250mg, but both at once (so 500mg in one go), plus I'm taking these eye vitamin pills. So, the whole deal for two months is: Trusopt drops, Diamox, and vitamins. I'm scheduled for another follow-up around the beginning of October. I'll check back in then, if not sooner.
Aside from all that, I should mention that these Diamox pills are definitely not sitting well with me. Mainly because of this awful heartburn, and the taste too. The food tastes okay enough, I guess, but when it comes to drinks—especially sodas—it feels like someone poured two huge spoonfuls of sugar into a glass of Alka-Seltzer.
Thanks for the previous posts, cheers from another guy dealing with CSCR.😉

So I picked up this 4 TB hard drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822236385
The thing's formatted to NTFS and it's telling me I only have 3.63 TB of space instead of the full 4 TB.
Is that actually normal? And like, is there any way at all to squeeze more than 3.63 TB out of it?
The usable capacity is always going to be lower than what's printed on the box, so don't sweat it. It's totally fine. Like, if you buy a 1TB drive, you're usually looking at maybe 931GB once you actually format it, so... yeah, nothing to worry about.😉
Hey everyone, it's me again 😁
Does anyone have a link to a site where I can actually compare specs for 2.5'' external hard drives? Looking for something in the 0.5TB to 2 TB range, I guess.
thanksssss much
Alright Benjamin King2, thanks man. I'll chew on this for a bit longer before I, hopefully, make a call 😁
Cheers 🙂
Benjamin King2 said:2.5" or 3.5"? If you're looking for speed, like a 7200 rpm drive, then honestly, you're pretty much stuck with 3.5" drives.
my bad, forgot to mention... I meant 2.5'' (probably 5400 rpm)
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for some recommendations on an external HDD.
Here’s what I’m after:
1) 500GB capacity
2) USB 3.0 interface
3) Price capped at $183
4) The best possible read & write speeds for the money (based on actual tests or benchmarks)
So, besides those four things, I just want to know what the absolute "best buy" would be for this price point.
I know there's a ton of drives sitting on shelves at Best Buy and stuff... but I can't find any decent comparative specs or tests for 500GB drives. I only found stuff for 1TB models, so if anyone has a link...
Thanks in advance!
Cheers! 😉

One more thing:
Does anyone know if I can actually find a 20-inch LCD with a 16:10 aspect ratio in any US stores right now?
- From what I've seen, they usually have 19'' or 22'' monitors in that format, but 20''? Not really seeing them. 🤷
Hey everyone!
I need some advice on picking up a monitor that hits these specs:
1.) Size has to be 19'' or 20'', strictly 16:10 ratio
2.) Needs both D-Sub analog and DVI ports
3.) Budget is max $300
Basically, besides those requirements, I’ll just be using it for movies, browsing, some light AutoCAD work, and maybe playing a game here and there (nothing crazy, maybe just The Sims 3)... so, I don't really need any high-end Full HD crap or whatever... (kidding, Full HD isn't crap, just don't need it). Right now I'm stuck with a SyncMaster 730 BF that's basically dying—about 10% of the screen along the edges is just black dead pixels... so yeah, that's why I'm looking for a replacement... I mentioned the 20'' limit because I literally have zero desk space for anything bigger...
Can anyone actually find something for that kind of money that fits my list? Looking for specific answers please.
Thanks, peace out!
P.S. Do either of these two monitors make sense for what I'm trying to do:
Has anyone here actually been to the Mayo Clinic in Chicago?
Mainly looking for info on treatment and therapy for lower back pain—mostly because my flat feet and collapsed arches are killing me lately...
If you've dealt with this clinic before, let me know what you think. Feel free to shoot me a DM too.
Also, if anyone knows anything about their pricing, I'd really appreciate the heads up.
Cheers,
Bozo
Thinking about selling my Dell 21 inch monitor
link: http://pcbonto.hu/portal/mindenhol_/...88_893553.html
So, I can't find any similar listings anywhere online, so I guess I'm just asking... how much could I actually ask for something like this? It's a perfectly good monitor, works fine.
Thanks,
later

Hey everyone,
I'm stuck and could use some input. Which one of these two monitors is actually worth the money? I've been going back and forth on this for a few days now:
Samsung:
Sony:
The prices are basically the same ($17 pretty much identical) and the specs look almost the same too.
Help me out here, I'm clearly not a genius.🤷
Christian Mendoza60 said:Hey guys, just picked up a Dell UltraSharp monitor and I'm curious what you all think about this piece of tech.
I actually use that exact monitor every single day at work. Mostly for 2D and 3D design stuff, and honestly, even with the old-school inputs, the picture quality is pretty solid. It’s a decent deal for the price, too—I heard some people are grabbing them for under $300 over at 🤷. It gets the job done for me, so I might even pick one up for my home setup. 👍
Also, OP, let us know where else you found one for sale.
Later.
Can someone hook me up with some monitor recommendations? Budget is max $500, please. I’m looking for something that hits that sweet spot where you actually get what you pay for—you know, decent value for money without getting totally ripped off.
Thanks, peace.
