If the performance remains somewhat consistent following China and Bahrain, then perhaps we could begin discussing a genuine comeback, but frankly, no one could convince me that Vettel would have secured this win had Mercedes-Benz not pulled into the pits during the SC.

One race, but it mattered.
A real track with actual racing conditions.
That's the kind of environment we can expect for at least half the races this season.

And you don't have to. You've got your opinion.
I don't think anyone actually expected a Vettel win, but when I saw Mercedes in the pits during the SC while Vettel and the others stayed out, I thought, "There it is." I was certain.
With every lap that passed, I became more convinced it was going to be an SV victory.
The start of the race told us everything we needed to know.

Ps. Someone please wake me up when McLaren actually starts winning again...👋

And honestly, isn't that a bit much to say!?
Wasn't today's race actually tense? Wasn't there enough excitement both at the front of the pack and fighting for third?

You're on the wrong forum. Go find some dedicated McLaren fan page.
Though, good luck finding one that actually works, since right now it feels like a funeral in the UK.

He would have had to pit regardless! An SC could have been their saving grace, as someone else already pointed out, but let's be honest: Ferrari's pace isn't what it was last year. Back then, Mercedes could pull off six pit stops and still breeze past everyone to secure a 1-2 finish without breaking a sweat.

Those worried looks on the faces at Mercedes after the second race... 🤣

Just think back to Australia, when they were all talking up the competition just to make things look better for the public—though, personally, we'd love to see that level of competition!🙂

I’m still thinking about that call from Nico Rosberg to Sebastian Vettel, inviting him over to the Mercedes garage.
No, everything just flipped on its head in only two weeks.

Now he might actually be tempted to go pay a visit to the red garage.
Nicole Torres said:Enough already, there is quite enough exaggeration happening here for one lifetime; frankly, it has started to cross the line of good taste

a) This is an absolute sensation of a win!
b) Ferrari is back!
c) Vettel is back!
Lewis said this:
"All day I was struggling with the balance. It was very, very uncomfortable, a lot of understeer, I couldn’t look after tyres. When I went to option tyre the car was better I was able to be a bit more consistent. I was able to close the gap."

🙂 :kme :kme

The summary (from Lewis again):
"I tried my best and the team made best choice they could.” !!!!!!!!!!
Man, I really miss Pila!
Jack Kelly5 said:I get the excitement and the hype, I really do, but maybe don't go too overboard with it.... Vettel drove both those races incredibly well, sure, but his actual contribution to making the car this fast is probably pretty negligible.

Car + driver + pit wall = Success.

At Mercedes, neither the driver nor the pit crew really mattered last year.
Now, we've finally reached the point where all three have to actually sweat and sync up if they want to win a race.
At least, that's how it looks to me after this turning point of a race (because it really is one).
After Malaysia 2015, things look drastically different than they did before.

As for what happens next? Who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.
I honestly don't know if I'm dreaming here.
Which car actually has (at least) a full second advantage over its closest rival!?
What a ride!
Both Mercedes cars are absolutely trashed. 🙏🙏🙏
Right there on the track, head-to-head.
No more playing nice, no more holding back—just pure, phenomenal driving from Sebastian Vettel.
Vettel's in the lead. 🙏
He’s got a nice, solid gap.
It's basically drowning out everything else happening on track right now.

Do you even realize how much we're all praying for this comeback!?
I’ll probably be breaking down in tears by the second lap.

That's it!
Rosberg clearly has a few too many trees growing in his head right now.
I just hope he doesn't take it out on Vettel tomorrow.
After Sebastian Vettel grabbed that podium in the first race, expectations are definitely climbing.
It’s a perfect chance to see if anyone can actually go toe-to-toe with Rosberg.
The Red Bull guys don't look like they can pose a real threat here.
Williams is trailing behind, so we'll just have to wait and see if they can make any meaningful moves forward.
Same goes for Kimi Räikkönen.
Honestly, this starting grid isn't half bad. If only Lewis Hamilton had started in P11 instead of Kimi.
The tires are even tougher than they used to be.
We’re going to see fewer and fewer pit stops.
stormybadger8 said:Lewis Hamilton probably wasn't even driving at his absolute limit; he was just driving at Nico Rosberg's limit. 😉
Rosberg spent the whole race chasing him, but there's a massive difference between chasing someone and being completely toyed with, like Vettel and Massa...
How much faster Hamilton could actually go is anyone's guess, but we know for sure Rosberg can't go any faster than this. 😁
Therefore, you should expect Ferrari to dump Rosberg from Second Place pretty soon if they want to shake things up...

The gap Lewis had over Rosberg during the race wasn't exactly comfortable or even particularly large. Honestly, I’d call it razor-thin.
It’s the kind of lead you lose in a single heartbeat with one tiny mistake in a corner.
And I didn't see him making any real effort to stretch it out.

So,
it's either:
a) Hamilton is so supremely confident that he didn't feel the need to push harder, figuring he could easily reclaim the lead if he messed up. He's got nerves of steel and was basically playing games with Rosberg all race long.
b) He wanted to pull away, but he just couldn't find the pace to get a 5 or 6-second cushion, which would have been more convincing, IMO.

My money is on B.
But man, I’d love it if it were A. 🙏
The Drop in Movies ·
I really loved this one. Watching it was a total blast.
Dark atmosphere, moody, bitter, and slow-burning. It’s got some crime elements, but honestly, it's more of a drama.
You see the twist coming, but it still hits you when it finally lands.
And the acting? Incredible. Just top-tier performances all around. By the way, I’ve always had a soft spot for the Chechens too.
I'm giving it an 8.5/10.
Ferrari (finally) on the podium. Vettel looks happy. It’s about time.
Sauber made the biggest strides.
Too bad so many people dropped out.
Ferrari and Williams are lagging by about half a second per lap, while everyone else is trailing by more than a full second.
Doesn't exactly sound like anything I'd want to watch.
Uh, what even is this now?
