Robert Rodriguez2 said:Don't be ridiculous. $1,300-$1,400 tops, especially since that GPU looks like it's seen better days.

Adam Moore3 said:Break it down piece by piece. If we assume the case is about $23, based on those estimates, you're looking at $533. Then again, this motherboard is actually decent (for an old socket), so I wouldn't let it go for less than $50. You could probably get $500 for it on Craigslist, at the very least.

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Whether it *can* sell and whether it *will* sell are two different things.
This stuff is five or six generations old; I doubt anyone's paying that kind of cash.😁

Kimi let me down, but I’d definitely slap a penalty on Ricciardo for that overtake.
Regardless, he made contact, bumped him, and disrupted his line. It was messy.

Honestly, I have no idea what you guys were watching.

He absolutely crushed him. It was done in such a depressing way that it actually drains your will to live.
Sure, you get to lift the trophy and grab 25 points, ..., but I don't see much to celebrate here. If anything, I'd be worried after a performance like that.
That's what hit me while watching the race on Sunday (if I hadn't already realized it, or if some part of me wasn't still fighting the truth). This is just a hopeless situation (Rosberg-Hamilton).

This time, I had the live timing open on my tablet while watching the race. You can see the lap times and the notifications.

Two things stood out to me:
a) Rosberg was consistently losing a tenth, two tenths, three tenths per lap. Every single lap. Using the same tires, no less—doing that in Monaco is incredible. For the winner, obviously.

b) At the same time, Rosberg couldn't pull away from Vettel. The gap stayed stuck at one or two seconds.
Unless Rosberg was playing some kind of math game (which I highly doubt), I think Vettel might have actually stayed closer to Hamilton than Rosberg did.
I won't go overboard, but the fact remains: Rosberg couldn't close the gap to Lewis by even a millimeter, yet he couldn't break away from Vettel by a millimeter either.

Vettel drove this one at Hamilton's level. Nothing less.

And how was Hamilton supposedly better than Rosberg in Monaco? By the fact that unlike Rosberg, he used his hands and feet but completely forgot to use his brain...

He was "better" enough to leave him in the dust.
As for not winning, that was just a bad run of luck. Nothing more.
They screwed up—him and his crew.
But hey, what can you do? It happens. What, should we hang them for it!?

If this kind of thing happened every two or three races, then maybe we could talk about incompetence. But not like this.

And there he goes! Just as I thought.
The pit wall sees everything, and they know way more than the drivers ever will. They have access to data that just isn't available in the cockpit. That’s exactly why they should have stepped in and stopped him.
Nah, it looks like they're just paralyzed by fear over there. If Lewis Hamilton even sneezes, their knees start shaking. If he so much as coughs, they lose their minds and panic, which leads to all this absolute nonsense.

cosmicridge5 said:Hamilton was the one calling for the pit stop, and the team just buckled under the pressure instead of pushing back to make it work. That’s really all there is to it. No grand conspiracy here, unfortunately. 😁

So, you're telling me it’s a shame there aren't any conspiracies going on? Right. 🙏
So, just a little bit of circus to break up this boring, dry slog of a 2015 season.

That was a massive blunder by the Mercedes pit crew. Honestly, just embarrassing, but hey, mistakes happen. Someone clearly messed up the math.
Luckily, the damage wasn't permanent.

Hamilton was absolutely driving the race today. He was in a league of his own, completely brushing Rosberg aside all weekend long.
Vettel was right there on his heels, though.

Rosberg is just a lucky winner. There’s no room for gloating here, especially not when looking at what happened to Lewis.

Horsepower is horsepower. If the numbers are the same, they're the same—it just depends on how you hit those RPMs or how you tweak the engine configuration.

Power is power.
If it's equal, it's equal.

Maybe if you put in a little effort, Mario, you could try writing something that actually makes sense technically and uses proper grammar.
It would be a nice change of pace.

It's a branded machine, a Dell Optiplex 7010 MT, about a year or two old.

Lawrence Barnes64 said:Maybe try toggling the PCI express priority setting in your BIOS first, just to see if that shakes things up.
There's also this nagging possibility that Dell might have cut some shady little deal with NVIDIA when they designed this motherboard, basically locking it down so only their specific cards play nice with it. I noticed in the compatibility reports they only listed NVIDIA under the supported hardware section http://www.msi.com/file/test_report/TR1_2341.pdf
So, if you want to be absolutely sure I'm not just spinning my wheels here, maybe grab a different ATI card and pop it in there to rule out a hardware mismatch...

My AMD Radeon HD 6670 worked perfectly right out of the box.

shadowlynx102 said:So, it looks like the motherboard is actually fine. I just realized you're working with a PCI express 2.0 board while the graphics card is running on PCI express 3.0, though honestly, that shouldn't be an issue at all since cards are supposed to be backward compatible with just about any slot you plug them into. Still, dealing with Dell hardware can sometimes feel like a bit of a gamble, you never quite know what you're going to get...

Even after a BIOS reset, nothing.

That mismatch between PCI Express 2.0 and 3.0 might be the culprit.
Is there any way to fix this?

shadowlynx102 said:I really hope you remembered to clear the CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard after you pulled the card out. If things still aren't working after a reset like that, it’s a pretty strong sign that the motherboard itself is shot or those PCI express slots are just dead. Also, I definitely hope you didn't forget to plug in the extra power cable to the card itself. What kind of card were you running before this one, and was it working okay?

I haven't done the CMOS reset yet.
Honestly, I’ve never had to deal with this kind of nonsense in my life, so it didn't even cross my mind.

The power cable to the card is definitely plugged in.
It was an AMD Radeon HD 6670 before this; it works perfectly fine now, unlike this new one.

Fine, I'll try the CMOS reset tomorrow (for the hundredth time) and let you know how it goes.
Thanks.

So, I plug my "new" graphics card into the PC, and absolutely nothing happens. No signal, no sound, just dead silence.
Aside from the two fans spinning up and a few LEDs lighting up.

The card is an NVIDIA GTX 1650—could be brand new out of the box or a month old (I bought two identical ones), doesn't matter because they both act exactly the same.

Motherboard is an ASUS ROG Maximus.
Running an i5-2500K, three drives, and 8 GB of some Kingston RAM.

I’ve tried plugging the card into both x16 slots—tested both identical cards in both slots just to see if anything would stick.
Tried every video output too (two DVI, DP, HDMI).
The kicker? Both cards work perfectly fine in a different computer next to this one!!!

I even swapped out the power supply (Corsair CX500) just in case it was a power delivery issue. Still nothing. Zero luck.

What else is left to try?
Any idea what the actual problem could be?

darkmarlin16 said:That’s just because the other Mercedes had brake issues (you aren't talking about the start, right?). Besides, that Mercedes easily overtook him during the race.

The real question is how he even managed to close the gap. I mean, why didn't Mercedes build a car with a 10-20 second advantage?
Because that exact same Mercedes was passing Ferraris on the straights with ease (and I mean easy).

Was it just specific track conditions where the Ferrari was actually faster than the Mercedes, or did Kimi Räikkönen just drive the hell out of it? Or maybe both.🎉

I see everyone piling on the praise for Lewis Hamilton; the Americans are absolutely losing their minds. Especially since Vettel finished all the way down in 5th.

That said, seeing Kimi's current form actually makes me pretty happy, particularly when things get gritty during a race.
He fought his way up to the podium, grabbing a solid 2nd place. Honestly, he could have at least cracked a tiny smile for once.

He managed to overtake the Mercedes-Benz in the race, even though they had him beat in qualifying.
And he wasn't even that far off from the runner-up (that one everyone keeps raving about).
All this while driving a car that’s half a second slower on a single fast lap.
Bravo, really. I'm thrilled. :klap:

Way to go, Kimi! 🙏
🙂
Mercedes-Benz is looking seriously vulnerable this season.

Another one bites the dust. We’re actually a little smarter now that we've cleared out some of the guesswork.
Ferrari still needs a few more upgrades to be a true contender.
As for when things really start heating up, we'll just have to wait and see how the next few races play out.
2015 Bahrain Grand Prix - Sakhir in Formula 1 ·
The erosion started during qualifying too. :klap:
There’s definitely a shot at something bigger here.
This is the first legitimate threat to Lewis Hamilton.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. 🙂 We'll see if those supposedly better Ferrari long runs on soft tires actually hold up enough to snatch another win.

👏
I’m not convinced a few compliments are enough to secure a massive contract extension.
(And by compliments, I mean Kim's praise)

Honestly, Kimi owes Ferrari one. This crew seems to be acting like his personal therapists this year. He’s actually talking, laughing... heck, he's even starting to drive again.

If that holds true (and it does), the temperature in Bahrain will probably land somewhere right in the middle of Malaysia and China. Though, honestly, it’ll likely lean a degree or two higher than that midpoint.
Malaysia was sitting at 33 with the track hitting about 60, while China stayed around the 20s.
By the time the lights go out in Bahrain (6:00 PM), we’re looking at something closer to 30 than 25.
I'm fine with that.
Provided there isn't a massive humidity spike, of course.
It should be hitting at least 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
We'll just have to wait and see if the heat actually matters as much as everyone claims.
Will the high temps tank the Mercedes-Benz performance enough to strip away their technical edge?

Anyway, 🎉.
