Everyone keeps bringing up some ritual, but honestly, you just need to listen to the latest Hypersonic release. That's the real masterpiece.
Hey, sweetheart, your opinion doesn't count since you haven't even heard the new album... and let's be real, you don't actually care about music anyway.☕
Highly recommend this for anyone who missed out on that massive summer anthem by Pets back in the early 90s—honestly, I don't think I've heard it since then! And that music video... absolutely legendary. 👍
dejdej... it didn't stick... then Josh just walked away... if anything, think of Pericin's 90s outfit, porno for Pyros... basically the American answer to Brit-pop! 🤣 heading over to Spotify to grab this now.
but the cool part is a band from, say, the late 80s putting out an album as fresh as Hypersonic did back in 2003 without sounding dated. then they just break up again for the millionth time...🤣 and yeah, Perica isn't overcompensating on this record anymore, he actually sounds great. he finally grew up a bit.
it really reminds me of faca no more... honestly, everything I hated about faca no more, I actually dig about them... it's like... there's a hint of that pathos in the background. but on Hypersonic, it feels more immediate, more natural, and just better! 👍
Just picked up some Kettle Whistle 😁 and it’s actually pretty chill... Still, I find myself gravitating toward that last Hypersonic album most of the time. It just feels lighter, fresher.
It’s summer in the city... after Hypersonic, I'm thinking John Frusciante, maybe some summer blues... shadows collide with people... but if the traffic jams depress me too much, I'll just put on some Porno for Pyros or something instead.
They kind of give off those Red Hot Chili Peppers vibes, if you're feeling it... but the vocals are totally different. They feel lighter, more like a summer thing. The Peppers definitely have the better guitarist, but Jane's Addiction has that gritty singer.
I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with them, but they always seem to hit the spot during the summer... Nothing beats playing a band like this when you're sweating through a heatwave near the coast, or just cranking the AC...
I've been listening to Hypersonic on repeat lately and it's honestly great...
Also, maybe one of the mods could rename this thread—if it even is a thread—so people don't get confused about the actual name of the fest... Coachella VIP Experience. Just a thought.
I don't get their whole deal with the ticket pricing... hiking them up like that... almost like they're terrified nobody will actually show up at first... 👎
Benjamin Parker2 said:Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—after Lollapalooza, we've got Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival coming up next! The lineup this year is killer: NEW YORK DOLLS—honestly one of my all-time favorites. I think they reunited back in '04 (the surviving members) after thirty years. Put out a great album. Can't miss this one.🙂 🙂 🙂 IGGY POP & THE STOOGES—do I even need to say it? 😬 😬 SONIC YOUTH—yeah, they're good, 😎 😎 !!!—not sure, honestly... TBF—you know how it is, personally I dig them more because their songs always remind me of legendary Tom Petty GUSTAFI- Alright, should be fun The Replacements- OK DJ Jazzy Jeff- not really my thing...
wow! where's that happening!? and DJ Jazzy Jeff too? was hoping to catch Sonic Youth and the Dolls, but if Jazzy's playing too... man... first time seeing him in the US in forever...
Stooges are boring live—saw them at Lollapalooza once...
Sonic Youth have headlined huge festivals before, so they should be the real deal. 😁
