Is Sedona some brand-new, multi-purpose circuit? Nope.
Are those other brand-new tracks where they run Formula 1? Yeah.

Does Sedona meet Grade 1 standards, and will an F1 race ever actually happen there in this state? No way.
Do those new tracks on the F1 calendar satisfy those standards—even if they jack up the price ten times over? Absolutely.

Etc, etc, etc...

Comparing Sedona—which I rented for $67 just to drive my own car—to any modern F1 track by any metric just proves you have zero clue what you're talking about. Same goes for the idea that promoters want everyone to finish the race; the actual data shows the biggest reach and viewership come from races filled with DNFs and crashes.

You're wrong. Admit it—it’s the honorable thing to do—so just admit it. I'm done with this debate, so you don't need to keep quoting and replying.

You literally said asphalt runoff zones on Grade 1 tracks are there for amateurs. Well, let me tell you—amateurs go to Sedona. And I'm talking about the same kind of amateurs who live near Imola, Misano, or Adria.

There's no point arguing with you. You're giving me a headache. You're exhausting. Just drop it already.

wiredfalcon2 said:Nah, you're missing the point—go read an interview with the Paul Ricard director. Or better yet, look at how race organizers actually pull their funding together. It’s all just basic math, not whatever nonsense you're rambling about. Every infrastructure project today needs an investor, and those investors want their money back. For most tracks, hosting F1 is either a total money pit or just breaking even. Take Melbourne—without $30 million AUD from local authorities, that race is a bust, even if they're leading the season and the stands are packed. For places like Paul Ricard, having an F1 race is pure prestige—they use it as a pitch to sell the track to other racing series. They aren't just living off that one weekend; in fact, Hockenheim nearly went belly up, and now they've got Šoder.

Why would I waste my time reading some random pamphlet from a white-collar track director? I see a massive crowd of Italian drivers out at Grobnik every single weekend—and that’s even with the Corona !!! factor.

Just show up to a track. Any track. See what’s actually happening, then come at me with your "verdicts."

wiredfalcon2 said:It’s not about being fake—it’s just basic math. Building a track meant for one single type of racing isn't profitable. Modern tracks have to host all kinds of stuff, including amateur events, where gravel traps aren't even ideal and walls are too close. Name me one new track being built in America that's designed specifically for just one or two motorsport categories and features tons of gravel. Even those massive new stadiums being built—they're designed to be multi-use hubs for concerts, training, shopping centers, and movies... not just a field for a game played once every two weeks. It's not a scam; it's an economic calculation.

Luis Salom, a MotoGP rider, died at the Barcelona track because of the asphalt runoff area. If that runoff had been gravel, Luis would still be here.

That's the reality.

Everyone knows why we don't have gravel. It's just so there are fewer DNFs—basically, so they can keep more cars on TV screens.

And since we're talking amateurs—amateurs don't even touch Grade 1 tracks because they're way too expensive.

Come out to a local track like Grobnik this weekend and you'll see it's packed with guys from all over. They aren't heading to Misano or Adria; they're coming here. And Grobnik is absolutely covered in gravel. You rarely see anyone actually end up in it, though.

If they actually had Šoder out there in the runoff areas, we wouldn't need any of this—no refs, no rulebooks, no endless debating over technicalities. Šoder would just deliver justice, naturally.

But they don't have him. Because they're all fakes.

neonfox65 said:Yeah, sure—like Hamilton was driving off track the whole damn race. As if!

Even Hamilton said he wasn't even aware of that track limits rule.

Buddy, if you lose, you get to be salty.

But being mad doesn't mean you have to look like an absolute idiot in front of the whole forum.

neonfox65 said:I saw Max pull ahead—but as for him passing Max back? Yeah, I didn't catch that part.

Don't get too hyped up while it's still happening—it could all go sideways.😛

Max "overtook" him off-track—period. He had to let him back past just to avoid catching a 5-second penalty or a drive-through—that's how the rules work. Get with the program.

neonfox65 said:It’s not even his first gifted win—he’s got that one from Canada against Ferrari too. Two total embarrassments.

But he'll get over it eventually. Can't just rig every single race for him, especially since Honda actually stepped it up.

What kind of "gifts" are you even talking about, Neighbor!?

The only gift I saw today was the pure talent God blessed Lewis Hamilton with.

neonfox65 said:I honestly thought they’d be on the reds for that last stint—there were 16 laps left. Couldn't believe those red tires wouldn't last 16 laps; what kind of garbage rubber is that? If Max had gotten the reds, he would've absolutely torn Lewis Hamilton to shreds.

How exactly is he supposed to tear him to shreds if those tires only last 14 laps!?

Look, I've been following F1 and other motorsports for 20 years now—and honestly? I've never seen a theft quite like this. It’d be embarrassing if my last name was Hamilton

But hey, lobbying works wonders. Same old story with Summher

Anyway, glad to see Red Bull actually has a fast car and that Max is a beast behind the wheel

Here's how I'd rank them right now:

Red Bull Racing > Mercedes-AMG > McLaren > Ferrari

We're taking back what's ours at Imola image

Neighbor, get it together.

I don't know what's going on with poor Vettel—honestly, it’s like he’s suffering from some kind of rapid aging disorder. He looks old, drives like an old man... he just feels like the oldest guy on the grid. And I mean even Alonso, Kimi, and Lewis Hamilton seem way fresher and sharper than him. Even though they're chronologically older, they all seem biologically much younger. Vettel's got at least 50 years on him biologically, despite being only around 34 or 35.

bluepuma9 said:Max totally botched it—when he gave the spot back to Lewis Hamilton, he was way too aggressive and stayed too close through that next sequence of turns. He slid a bit, overheated those tires, and lost his pace for a lap or two—which was all Lewis Hamilton needed. He was just being Emotional.

Max drove a masterclass today. Honestly, his only real issue was having Lewis Hamilton on track—who actually drove a cleaner race.

No driver on the grid could’ve won in that Mercedes today. Right now, Mercedes-AMG Petronas is sitting about two-tenths behind Red Bull Racing.

But hey, Mercedes has been here before. They were trailing Ferrari for stretches back in the 2017 and 2019 seasons, yet they always managed to claw those tenths back somehow.

So yeah, this gap isn't going to last forever.

James Harris34 said:This was one of those races where you could argue the slower car actually won—Hamilton just used pure experience and racing IQ to absolutely dismantle Max, and honestly, you've gotta give him credit for that.

Facts.

I mean, championships aren't won by accident—look at those seven titles!!!

Lewis proved himself ages ago. He doesn't have anything left to prove.

Today he just put on a clinic. And we should be thanking him for it.

Drew Bennett68 said:Max is gonna eat him alive—assuming he actually has a decent car.

Max is the new king of Formula 1, plain and simple—last season proved that.

Are you kidding me!?

Did you even watch the last two hours of that race!?

Even with a better car and better tires, Max couldn't pull off the win.

He isn't eating anyone alive. Not a chance.

Max only becomes the king once Lewis is gone.

And don't expect races like this all season—Mercedes will claw back two or three tenths in the next month.

That was one of those rare, unforgettable races.

Next time? It might just be a total snooze fest.

A snooze fest that probably ends with the exact same winner.
