So, I finally sat down and watched that movie last night... mostly just because of all the massive hype surrounding the Millennium Trilogy. Honestly, I probably should have read the books first instead of jumping straight to the film version.
Now, I have absolutely zero motivation to pick up the book. I expected so much more from this.
It was overly commercialized, predictable, and felt incredibly derivative.
Everything about it was dialed up way too high. You’ve got the lead actress playing someone on the fringes of society—who, let's be real, is clearly portrayed as some sort of victim of abuse—mixed with a heavy dose of religious subtext (because apparently, if it isn't in the Bible, you can't solve anything), and of course, the inevitable Nazi references (as if Americans haven't dealt with enough of that already). Then there's the whole Sodom and Gomorrah vibe—maybe those cold, dark winter nights in the States get a little too intense for people—and it all wraps up with a happy ending, which is just classic Hollywood commercialism; she ends up beautiful and wealthy at the end.
On top of all that, they throw in a bit of investigative journalism, some courtroom drama, a few offshore accounts, African cartels, some random tattoos, and an excessive amount of Apple products.
I can't imagine myself ever sitting through the sequels.

And honestly, I don't get why people always try to draw these parallels suggesting that anyone who spends a lot of time on the internet is antisocial, or doesn't have a real life, or is somehow alienated, blah blah blah...

The very same people who would have looked at me with total confusion—or even pure disdain—just a few years ago if I’d mentioned I was active on a forum, are now all over Facebook because it's "trendy." They act like they're somehow immune to those well-known
internet-age ailments..blah blah..etc..
My only suggestion would be to give the advertisers on this site a heads-up...
For three days straight, I haven't been able to access that specific website...
And look, I’m an absolute addict when it comes to both of these sites; I spend my entire day scrolling through them...
I find myself watching your ads—honestly, I enjoy them regardless—and I pay close attention to everything, especially whenever you run special promotions or highlight the perks that set you apart from the competition...

No, you simply can't pass up cinematic gems like this one. I find myself checking the TV listings almost "professionally," hunting for something that feels different—something that doesn't have that typical Hollywood formula.
And frankly, I don't regret paying for a subscription. One single masterpiece like this holds more value than an entire week of mindless programming on networks like ABC or NBC, which just feel overpriced and hollow.

It honestly irritates me to see Magas being brought up here, even on this forum. As if it wasn't enough that all those cheapskate hacks from our supposedly "prestigious" national newspapers and TV networks spent days feeding off this just to boost their own ratings and circulation...

The whole thing is because they were literally the last ones left in stock, and oh my gosh, I was just so obsessed with them! Plus, considering how nice the quality feels, the price was such a steal, I couldn't pass them up 😬
I’ve heard all sorts of weird DIY hacks floating around online, like soaking them in milk, stuffing them with newspaper and tossing them in the freezer, or maybe some crazy combo of both, you know how it goes 😁
Does anyone out there have any actual advice on how to STRETCH shoes? Because honestly, I think the length might actually be fine if I can just somehow manage to cram my foot into them in the first place 😳 Just to give you some context, they’re basically like ballet flats—totally flat soles—but instead of having that rounded toe, they have a pointed toe 😳
