I just finished watching the movie, and I have to say, I wasn't entirely sold on it. For me, the absolute standout was Scarlett Johansson; she managed to capture the essence of Marilyn Monroe in a way that feels more authentic than any actress I've seen attempt it before. While I haven't sat through every single biopic about her, from what I have seen, Scarlett is easily the most convincing. A lot of that credit probably goes to the makeup department for nailing the physical resemblance, but her performance itself was truly exceptional. She really is the soul of this film. Everything else, however, left me wanting more—especially the runtime, which felt far too drawn out. I also found myself frustrated by the constant hair-splitting over whether certain events actually happened the way they were depicted. In my opinion, if the historical details are too murky to be certain, it’s better to present the story as a work of fiction rather than labeling it a biopic. Besides, it seems the film is based on a book that leans heavily into fictionalized territory anyway. My other grievance lies with the supporting cast; they felt almost non-existent. There wasn't enough depth given to any of the other characters to make them feel real; they just seemed cold and distant. The entire production stays laser-focused on Marilyn and her internal struggle, which leads to an overwhelming amount of tragedy. I realize her life wasn't some perfect fairy tale, but the film leans so hard into the misery that it becomes exhausting. It feels somewhat paradoxical because many film critics have argued that she actually possessed a brilliant comedic talent—something the directors of her previous films never quite managed to fully harness. Personally, I think she is a wonderful actress, and having watched nearly all of her work, I find her talent undeniable.

It seems you're only ever looking at breasts. 😁 I honestly can't recall them; the movie was just far too intense for me to focus on the details. Actually, while I was hanging out in Sioux Falls the other day, I ended up watching Jailbait from 2014 starring Sara Malakul Lan. You really ought to check out that duo. I have to admit, they completely captivated me.
What truly bothered me was how two seasoned climbers could clearly see the amount of rust on the holds and how loose the bolts were, yet still decide that scaling the cliff was worth the risk. At one point, that blonde climber—the taller one—starts wiggling and shaking the rungs, laughing it off like she’s just playing around, even though she knows she has to descend using those exact same holds. It turned out to be the turning point, because most of the bolts actually started popping out right after her little stunt. I honestly can't wrap my head around how someone could be so reckless.
Topic - Let's play a game where we pair two different tracks under an "A/B" format. To qualify, both songs must share a single-word title. Additionally, they must have been officially released as studio singles at least ten years apart from one another, and neither can be a cover version of the other.
