Looks like I was just throwing money down the drain.😢 Or maybe there’s some kind of adapter you can plug into that speaker jack, which then leads into those three colored cables—green, orange, and black. I guess. Maybe.
Wait, you actually bought a 5.1 system without checking if it only had a stereo output? I guess that's possible. 😬 So where exactly are you plugging all those cables in? Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I saw a laptop that actually supported 5.1 surround sound. You could probably:
Maybe just buy an external sound card and plug everything into that. Maybe buy a 3.5mm splitter, but I doubt it’ll actually work the way you want it to.
Then you’ll need to install the actual audio drivers; right now, you’re probably just running on some generic ones. I guess you can just head to the motherboard manufacturer's website and find your specific model there.
I think there’s some confusion here. One person sees the desktop as the actual computer tower, while the other is just talking about the screen interface... Maybe you two should get on the same page 😍

GA G33M S2L Intel E2180 overclocked to 2.4 Ghz 2 GB RAM Radeon hd 3650
so basically, I just want to know if an x64 OS would make things feel any faster.
👍
(hopefully I posted this in the right subforum)
Just install x64 to see what happens. You probably won't see any real gains in speed given those specs.

Just grab the drivers from the Dell website. Which specific model are you using?
The 480 is maybe slightly better than a 5870 if you’re just looking at a single card, but it costs way more... though I guess you could just grab two 5870s instead.
Come on, if you've got the $2000, there's no point in being cheap. Just grab two NVIDIA GTX 580s, run them in CrossFire, and maybe you'll actually hit 😁 .

Not sure. :S Slot type: AGP Resolution: 1024x768 Budget is roughly😁 $217 maybe a bit more Looking for something with at least 512MB Ideally looking at shops near Columbus or maybe driving over to Chicago if it stays under $300$167 And I should mention—I definitely want a card with a fan. I'm not interested in passive cooling.
Don't bother buying anything. That processor is a disaster.
