Did anyone catch Janica tonight? She's our hero! in Other Sports ·
I don't know if everyone caught Janica's run tonight, but man, I am just speechless.
She actually lost her pole and her glove right at the start, yet she kept pushing and still managed to grab third place.
Anyone who really understands skiing knows how insane it is to be hitting gates without a protective glove.
I guess she could have just pulled out and nobody would have blamed her, but she stayed in it for us viewers, for everyone who showed up to cheer her on live, and for all the people who worked so hard to organize this whole event. She didn't want to let us down by quitting.
Janica was racing for America tonight just like she always does, but she was clearly in pain, pushing through something most people wouldn't endure for their country or their fans.
She is a true hero, unlike that gentleman chilling away in The Hague who spent so much time hiding from the American people.
JANICA, YOU ARE MY HEROI feel the same way about people like her who sacrifice so much for their country, and I really hope the nation gives back to her at least half as much as she has given to them.👍
Need help finding USB 2.0 drivers in Software ·
Raymond Rodriguez40 said:I guess you’ve still got two USB drives left if you want to trade them for the Geronimo and the Red Rock.😉

Sounds good to me! I guess we're all set.

I guess we manage to reach an agreement so quickly, while those politicians just drag their feet... they’re basically blowing through our tax dollars for nothing. Honestly, it feels like we almost just paid it all back.😁

Tyler Johnson9 said:I think I finally sorted it out. I realized my laptop already has a USB 2.0 port, but it basically acts like a slow USB 1.0 connection until you install the right drivers. I spent some time digging around for them today. Now that it's fixed, it should be just as smooth sailing as a trip through the San Francisco Bay. No more headaches, I guess. 👋

Talk about speed... when it comes to fixing internal and external issues. I guess we're looking at USB drives, fragile drivers, various video inputs and outputs, and all that other hardware. Maybe that's just how it goes.👋 👋
Maybe this should serve as a lesson for our politicians. I guess they really need to light a fire under themselves.

I really feel bad that Željko Joksimović didn't take the win, (Mexico) because his song is just incredible. I guess it doesn't matter who's listening, but there's just something about it that resonates with so many people.
I'd never actually heard him or the track Lan Moj before, but ever since I heard it, I've had it playing on loop in my car until I get tired of it. Does anyone know where I can find an instrumental version without the vocals?
My favorite part is probably that it earned 10 points from the US, mostly because this song isn't about politics or anything else—it’s just a beautiful love ballad that you can enjoy for what it is.
We were honestly pretty desperate, I suppose, but I think it's even worse for those who choose to sing in English instead of using their own native language.
Printer recommendations? in Computer Peripherals ·

I was just saying I know the word is toner, so you can go ahead and bother someone else with all that nonsense. 😛

Zebra 😁

And did you know people also call it a Cartridge? Hehehehe....
I guess if it's full of mice, does that mean the whole house is infested or just the yard? 😁 😉

Honestly, who cares about ink? Even the cheapest laser printer beats those color inkjet models any day of the week...
I used to have a Lexmark All-in-One, and I'm telling you, I was about 0.1% away from tossing the whole thing out the window. It was an all-in-one—printer, scanner, copier—costing me around $250, but then the black and color cartridges alone would set me back nearly $200. It just didn't make sense, I guess. Anyway, it doesn't really matter now because I finally picked up a used laser printer, and now I don't have to stress about how much I print. The only real issue is that I seem to fill up the paper tray every five days, haha.😁 😁 😁
Rape: Fact or Fiction? in Philosophy ·
soks said:Apparently, it’s possible. I read somewhere that about five years ago, five Englishwomen caught this one guy tied up to a tree while they were messing around with him. 😲 Man, those women sound wild. 😁

Seriously though, look at how twisted some people can be. Maybe I’d struggle a little at first, but honestly? If there were five of them, I probably wouldn't move a muscle. I’d just let them do whatever they wanted—and maybe even lend a hand (I don't mean masochism or getting hit, obviously). But hey, if they wanted to take things a step further... well, we could certainly work something out.

On a more serious note, everyone has their own boundaries. When it comes to things like assault, some people see it as a violation of their identity or personhood, while others might view a group encounter as being as casual as watching a football game.
Smoking... in Health ·
casualstag38 said:So you're telling me this smoker used to go through four packs a day—like, 80 cigarettes total??

Assuming you weren't sleeping... that would be more than three cigarettes an hour...
If you were getting maybe 5 or 6 hours of sleep... then it's roughly four cigarettes per hour..
Go ahead, just tell me you were kidding.🙂

Man, I wish I was joking.
Honestly, I was hitting three packs a day when I got about 7 hours of sleep, but if I was up for most of the night, it was probably 4 packs or even more.
Back then, my motto was basically "don't let the light go out."
And honestly, I know a few guys who still smoke way more than I ever did.
<If I had a do-over, I’d keep everything else the same, but I definitely wouldn't touch a cigarette again.

So, you're saying there's no support needed if you just want to quit smoking?
That's coming from someone who used to smoke four packs a day—80 cigarettes daily, right?
I guess it really just comes down to making a choice and having the willpower. If you decide to quit, it has to be a firm "no." Not a "maybe I will" or a "I'll give it a shot," but a straight-up "no." That's just how I see it.
But then again, I suppose everyone has to know where their own limit is.
