I’m not sure if this is a direct response to my previous post, but I feel the need to explain the reasoning behind the MP3 player:
Look, as a godmother, I was there through every single step of her First Communion. I was at Mass and confession with her, explaining the "what, how, when, and why" of everything. I helped her pick out her dress and her jewelry, and I even had to sprint into the church to drop off the donation because her mom was running late. I spent hours helping her memorize all those prayers—making sure she knew them inside and out because she was genuinely terrified she wouldn't be ready for the ceremony. I also handled all the photography during the service and afterward, making sure all 24 guests from the extended family got their copies.

So, after everything that went into making this day happen, I think giving her an MP3 player as a final gift is perfectly reasonable. 🙂
My gift was just an $100 MP3 player. Honestly, I think it was plenty, especially since my parents are totally fine with kids having those kinds of gadgets.
The little one even realized on her own that she hadn't brought out all the gold from her First Communion yet, poor thing 😍
So, you could head over to Barnes & Noble and pick up an Illustrated Bible for kids—it’s certainly appropriate, though I can't be sure if the child already owns one: There are other editions of biblical texts adapted for younger readers, but from what I understand of the market, this is the superior choice. 👍 If a gift of that nature doesn't suit your needs, you might consider a more "secular" book instead... did I mention my obsession with books? Ultimately, you know the child better than I do, so my suggestions may be entirely misplaced.

It honestly makes me so sentimental. Even now, I can still see that one image in my head—that sun-drenched staircase surrounded by angels...😍
It seems like there’s always a pattern here: you either find gold or some sentimental keepsake—something like a Bible, religious texts, a cross, or even just old tech like an MP3 player or an ancient cell phone. It's always either pure value or a memory.
