As far as I'm concerned, Easy Rider and Last Detail are about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Someone mentioned $120k for 70 square meters in the city, but unless you're 6.2 miles living northwest of the suburbs in some basement apartment, that’s a joke.

For $120k, you’re probably looking at a total gut renovation most of the time. Rent is sitting around $450-$500+, and mortgage payments are hitting $550-$800+ (if you aren't using an FHA loan to dodge the local taxes, then that's just the reality).

I also tend to think things will tick up slightly before stabilizing; that earthquake really threw the whole market for a loop. The alternative is everything skyrocketing, but then I'll be worrying about what to eat instead of how to cover the mortgage.

Anyway, if anyone has advice on where to park some cash for investment or savings—specifically for someone who doesn't have the time to check trends more than twice a month—I'm all ears. 🍿

Or should we be getting worried that we're already three months in and people are still typing 2021?

It sucks having to date things backward, but since I'm signing off six times a day, I just pay attention for the first two weeks of the year and after that, it doesn't really matter.

Noah Roberts46 said:I think everyone understands that kind of mindset when it involves the citizens of Ukraine, America, or any nation that has faced aggression—of course, it makes sense in that context. But those who aren't directly involved in the fighting shouldn't adopt those views. Generalizing an entire nation—especially one as massive as Russia—as criminals won't achieve anything positive in the long run.

It's like what that guy was saying in the video that Jonathan Barnes5 posted. Obviously, things are hardest for the people in Ukraine, but if we start treating every single Russian as if they are Putin, what do we expect them to become in the long term? They will end up harboring hatred toward the West in exactly the same way. That's why I say it's a vicious cycle, and we should look at the lessons of history regarding Hitler. But hey, history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.

Hitler has nothing to do with this; even before his time, there were already repayment models in place.
The reparations were paid out to those who were suspended, even though they could have easily settled their debts themselves. Local politicians basically buried the whole idea of reparations because playing the victim was just too easy a way to score populist points.

You always seem to nail him; Anthony Jackson2 writes some nonsense, and you immediately counter with the populations of Lombardy and Veneto (10M and 5M). 🤣

You definitely woke me up enough to realize I shouldn't be spilling half my coffee on the floor.

Laura Chavez93 said:Subway went under because their prices were simply too high—and frankly, they were being incredibly stingy with the actual ingredients in the sandwiches.

They skimped on everything—three slices of cheese, three slices of meat, that was it. 🤣
And honestly, God help the people who actually had to eat there. 😛

Elizabeth Mendoza said:Subway is making another attempt here in the States. They didn't quite take off during their first try.

That Subway location in the city center used to pull in maybe $2,500 to $3,000 a shift, but the manager there completely burned every bridge with their suppliers until they couldn't even get food delivered anymore.

Amanda Evans2 said:I have never quite understood this obsession people have with McDonald's in Washington, D.C.; honestly, if you try to hit the drive-thru near the downtown area, you can almost never escape the massive lines.
I mean, I don't judge kids under 14, but if you swing by on a Saturday at 11 PM, you'll see crowds of 20+ people just lining up for cheeseburgers.
They load up on all those calories, and naturally, it makes for terrible sex...

On Sunday nights, finding a spot near the Kruga area is impossible. You won't find parking anywhere, not by McDonald's or even near the apartments.

For everyone missing their Sunday service because of the ban, you can just meditate on this few times a day.

So, I was watching this video from the head epidemiologist over in South Korea (I think Hild has become 🤔), and this guy is claiming that people who test negative and get discharged from the hospital could just start showing symptoms again after five or six days back home.

That part doesn't sound particularly fun.

Mortality rates are actually lower than the flu!
Imagine how much worse this would be if there weren't global lockdowns in place right now...

Are we talking about that procession from last night? From what I can tell, they limited it to 17 people and everyone kept a decent distance from one another.

The real issue is that nobody seems to grasp what these gathering guidelines actually mean—not even the Police or the CDC. A friend sent me a photo from a park in Berlin, and honestly, it looks just as packed as Central Park on a Sunday afternoon.

The police showed up and checked to see if the groups on the blankets were from the same household; if they were, everything was fine. Everyone was spread out several feet apart across the parks on their blankets. No one was making a scene about it, so it’s pretty straightforward: if you're outside, just stick with your household and keep your distance from others. As simple as that.

Back home, it's like two trenches facing off where everyone's just attacking each other without any compromise. You've got people who don't get that hanging out with friends isn't okay, and then you've got the Police who don't seem to realize that socializing at a distance is perfectly fine.

The procession itself isn't the problem, provided everyone follows the rules. Just maintain distance and keep the group size small.

Like this sort of thing.

Honestly, we don't need thirty deaths a day; if some little girl dies once a week, that's enough for me.

It’s not exactly life-changing—I won't be revisiting it and I honestly can't tell you what stuck with me, but it isn't total garbage either.🤷

Too much unverified garbage has surfaced lately, I think it’s time to spice this thread up.

urbanhawk17 said:Facebook is just full of melodrama lately. Of course, they're all posting pictures and videos of their beds from the arena.

Look, if that's actually happening, and it seems more and more certain, why wait? Why not start tomorrow? Or Sunday? It's four days until Wednesday. By then, we'll probably have another 500 or 600 infections.

Personally, I'm all for isolating the elderly and those with health issues while letting everyone else live normally. If that won't work—and it clearly won't—then we need a total lockdown, not this half-measure we're dealing with now. This current setup is nothing.

And by the way, now that people in the city are heading out to their weekend homes, there could be quite a few cases popping up in the suburbs. I hope that doesn't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Maybe they're factoring in some level of herd immunity and figured that hitting a certain number of infections by Wednesday is actually sustainable.

Or maybe they're just waiting on some calculation, a final decision, or some logistical nightmare... honestly, it could just be some bureaucratic bullshit.

Hell, who knows—you'd have to ask whoever gave you the tip.

It isn't just about the death toll; people who deal with more severe cases end up with permanent lung damage.
In the USA, 40% of ICU patients are under 55, and 30% fall somewhere between 20 and 44.
