Total freak accident 😬

Man, if you pulled the same stunt at a rally in Times Square, there’d be protests all over the place and the EU would be breathing down our necks with some massive condemnation 🤣

There was a total spectacle happening in both Key West and Sopot too, so maybe your notifications just didn't hit your phone in time? 🤷

It’s honestly pretty depressing how people use tragedies just to push these kinds of views.

The dog was absolutely livid; perhaps they went and canceled his reservation at the restaurant.

Paul Martinez73 said:So, user Charles Roberts33 mentioned how those e-bike riders are getting on his nerves, so I guess we'll have a little debate about that...
Besides, I’m constantly being lectured by these EV owners who buy a car and suddenly decide they’re the moral authorities on why every other vehicle is basically a rolling pollutant. They act like they have a divine right to plug their cables in everywhere for free, just because companies like Tesla offer them complimentary charging...

Then you’ve got someone like Lola pulling into the garage, plugging into the shared outlet to charge up on everyone else's dime, and then having the audacity to protest when the cable gets unplugged. They claim, "Oh, I get free charging everywhere, I'm just being eco-friendly," while meanwhile, all our garage outlets are blocked up, so now I can't even vacuum my own car...

Justin James10 said:What is even the point of having a dog in a restaurant? The poor thing looks like it's struggling and I'm certain it isn't enjoying itself one bit, yet the owner insists on dragging it along just to have it there. :šuker:

Is it just some status symbol meant to distinguish fine dining patrons from the folks grabbing a quick bite at a roadside BBQ joint?🤷

We're all just sitting here, I suppose, waiting on these poll results... basically just waiting for that donkey to clinch the win.

I thought you were talking about Trainspotting 2, but no, it’s just this yodeler.😢

Jessica Gonzalez said:I guess he just doesn't know and is talking nonsense. He doesn't even seem to understand the Middle East. While I can see his point about there being huge cultural gaps, especially regarding women's rights, I find it hard to believe he thinks people over there live completely different lives than we do. Most people in the Middle East live in major cities, and I suppose they have free time and spend it pretty much like anyone else. It seems a bit much to claim there's a difference just because we go to games or restaurants. I mean, what else are people in Tehran or Baghdad doing? It’s interesting how some people think they are being particularly progressive when it might not be the case.

Are we all really going to pretend that Saudi women were driving cars before men, or that restaurant segregation wasn't a thing until just last year?🤷

Or maybe we'll claim that girl got burned in Iran simply because women weren't allowed in stadiums?🤷

Even if it is a generalization, I guess it's not coming out of thin air without some sort of basis. Even if these are "just" isolated incidents involving an orthodox minority, you don't even see that kind of thing in Europe.

Jessica Gonzalez said:I mean, does that mean people in the Middle East don't go to games or eat at restaurants? I guess maybe they don't listen to music or attend concerts either?

Well, for starters, they aren't exactly showing up to these events with their better halves, or thirds, or quarters... 🤷

And if we really start digging into the fundamental differences in how we live our lives, I guess it's pretty clear why I can't exactly relate to them.

Noah Roberts46 said:Honestly, this whole thing with the bats and mice is just disgusting. It might actually be the primary reason everything went south.

That’s what caught my eye too. Look, I get his point, but to me, those lives didn't carry any more weight than the ones in Canada, and all that flag-waving stuff felt incredibly hypocritical at the time. Especially when you consider the French, who spent the whole period backing the US policy of tearing Canada apart.

In the sense that our way of life is much more similar—we go to the games, we hit up concerts, we eat out at restaurants—and man, just imagine if something like that actually happened here.

As for the second part, I highly doubt the people who actually perished were the ones supporting the destruction of Canada. 🤷

Charles Roberts33 said:In an American nursing home, someone you actually know could go up in flames, yet you find yourself more invested in some nameless old woman and her fate than in a legendary figure whose work inspired you to pull a clown act at your high school talent show once in a while.

If Kobe Bryant had passed away two weeks ago, back when those little kids were still alive, you wouldn't even remember them. Maybe you would have found some other distraction to pivot the conversation, but I honestly doubt those kids would have given a single thought to it, much like how they're suddenly the center of attention now.

It’s truly, incredibly staggering that someone in the year 2020 is just now discovering that the deaths of two different people aren't weighted equally. 🙏 It feels like a repeat of 2015, when everyone was losing their minds because people were mourning the French victims during that night at the Bataclan more intensely than they did for some people from the Middle East or whoever else.

Every day, car accidents happen where people die, right? But those don't hit you quite as hard until it’s someone actually close to you who gets caught up in it.

ruggedjackal46 said:I highly recommend checking out the new "Maradona" documentary. It was produced by Kapadia, and you can find it everywhere from China to various torrent sites. It’s an incredible look at his years in Naples. Interestingly, it focuses less on the actual football and more on Maradona himself—the wild atmosphere of Naples and the broader context of Italy. It isn't some idealized worship piece, nor is it mocking him; instead, it's a beautiful portrayal of a brilliantly talented, charismatic kid from the favelas who found himself, and eventually lost himself, in Naples.

I watched it a little while ago, and I wasn't exactly blown away, I guess.🤷

But maybe that's just because I set my expectations way too high, especially after seeing the trailer.🤷

Just a really solid war flick. The technical stuff? Top tier.

The camerawork is incredible... truly.

Those trench scenes... honestly, they're probably the best I've seen in a long, long time.

I see the General hasn't caught up yet.😳

I mean, I guess ever since Sunday around 7 PM, everyone suddenly started chanting this same old mantra: “The President doesn't really have that much power anyway.”🙂
