But let's not get carried away here; if there were actually a serious threat, half a SWAT squad would have handled it already.

Kesic is top-tier 🙏 unfortunately, we just don't see that kind of stuff around here—or maybe we're lucky? Because our politicians definitely aren't built like that. You actually need the right material to pull this off 😁

What I'm saying is, I watch PrimeTime (formerly NewsBar) on CNN every single Sunday.

It’s not quite on his level, but they still give politicians a hard time.

It’s like if your barber reopened his shop; you wouldn't get a citation just for going in to get a haircut...

That’s like saying it’s perfectly fine if a bank gets robbed just because none of the bankers or security guards got hurt—and besides, the Thieves were apparently following all the local restrictions and traffic lights while they were making their getaway.🙏

It doesn't even matter if they kept their distance or didn't group up, because those public gatherings are banned by both the task force and the Church.

A cultural asset is a matter of national interest. In this specific instance, we're talking about the Church. A random little church out in the suburbs of Split isn't exactly a national treasure. Do you see the difference? Or rather, do you actually get it?

Some of us can interpret very straightforward laws without needing a PhD—though I'm seeing that some people struggle even with the basics. It's like pure hatred is just blinding them at this point. 👎

Are you trying to suggest that if Josip Delaš were a Bishop in the Cathedral, he wouldn't act the way he did?

Or maybe you think that some random church in the suburbs is some kind of medieval monument?

328M ---> 2000 here in the States.
And honestly, it’s all about the trend, which just means the numbers are going to keep climbing.

Looking back at the last week... gosh, it was a measly 748 (which is 187 per million), though I suppose if we were in the USA, that would be roughly 61k.

Back then, there were 13,125 total, and today it's 18,359.

I mean, if you actually look at the math... 150k out of 380 million is basically the same ratio as 1.8k out of 4 million. It's all just numbers, I guess.🙂

It’s this weirdly private space where anyone—specifically those believers—can just wander in without an invite, a ticket, or any kind of permission. But the second you try to point out that some laws are being broken? Suddenly, everyone gets incredibly picky about who is entering and how they’re doing it.🙏

Maybe we're looking at some secret church or a cult that keeps the public out and only lets in the chosen few? It doesn't exactly feel Christian to me. 🤷

And I’ll say it again: there was no forced entry. We see footage from churches all year round, and nobody ever complains because, well, no one was actually breaking the law.

It wasn't even some private ceremony, like a baptism or a wedding.

Amy Nelson4 said:Since when have journalists been the ones enforcing laws that are directly tied to protecting public health?

Look, if you’re out there growing or dealing drugs—just a hypothetical, obviously—the police can't just barge in whenever they feel like it. They need a warrant. And warrants? Those are issued by a judge. You probably already knew that, though—I mean, I shouldn't assume, but let's be real.
If things ever get physical at home—you know, if the police actually witness or hear any domestic violence happening—they can step in and react right then and there.
You can't just barge onto private property whenever you feel like it.

They aren't enforcing the Law, but they certainly have the right—and maybe even the obligation—to point out when it's being broken, whether that happens in the middle of Times Square or in the privacy of some weekend cabin up in the Appalachian Mountains.

Unless, of course, you’re acting with good intentions, then I guess you can wander into a church or onto private property however you please 🙏 🙏 But if we’re doing something that isn't allowed, well, then they aren't going to just let us get away with it. 🙏

wiredrider9 said:Protecting public health? Hahahahaha. Like, only 30 people die a day from cigarettes in America, so nobody gives a damn—just hike up the prices so they can line their pockets and call it "public health safety." Meanwhile, for the director of a nursing home, they just put a history professor in charge hahahahaha.

I mean, isn't it just... I don't know, maybe it's all the same thing? You have this virus, right? A contagion where you can only really play defense—you can't exactly choose whether or not someone decides to infect you or not. It’s out of your hands, I guess. And then you look at a simple decision, like whether you decide to smoke or not. You actually have options there. But when you really sit down and think about it... they're totally the same thing. I suppose. Just an observation, really. 🙏

The same old dust cloud kicked up around that nursing home director when he was first appointed—you know, the whole media circus where journalists report on it, condemn him, and then... nothing. It just vanishes. It’s exactly like what we're seeing today. I mean, what do people actually expect? Do you honestly think reporters have the authority to just decide to fire a director on their own? I guess not, but the cycle is always the same. Just noise.

Paul Martinez73 said:Private parties are strictly banned, and you can't even hang out in parks unless you're with your family. There are plenty of police reports on the subject... ☕
It was that one woman I personally linked—the one who was lecturing people in the park about why they weren't keeping their distance from CNN... funny how the exact same crowd attacking those people gathered together now were the ones mocking them back then and pushing the idea that everyone should just hang out and get together...
🤷

Freedom of speech? Reporting? Please, give me a break. If you actually bother to read all our posts explaining this, you'll see we all agree she broke the rules, which is exactly why some guy snatched the phone right out of her hand... It wasn't about Pop or Jesus or three million believers, just one guy who decided to take justice into his own hands and ended up getting detained for it.

Private parties and parks aren't closed off or forbidden, provided it's within the immediate family circle.

It's just like how the church isn't closed to family events: baptisms and weddings aren't banned, assuming someone wants a wedding with just a few guests.

Amy Nelson4 said:Have you ever actually heard of private property and respecting it?

What actually matters more here? What's the real priority? Is it protecting privacy on someone's private property, or is it following the Law—you know, the kind that's directly tied to protecting public health? I mean, I guess it's a tough one... maybe. It feels like we're constantly torn between the two.

That’s... I mean, that's like saying we shouldn't care if there's white powder being moved around or violence happening in some nursing home, right? Because, well, have I ever heard of private property? I guess... maybe? It's just... it's a bit much, isn't it?🕺

Paul Martinez73 said:So why don't they crash private parties or backyard BBQs? Or end up in public parks?
Because then there wouldn't be much of a story; she could have just called the cops, waited for them to show up, and that's that. 🤷

She wanted a reaction, and honestly, she got one. If she had stayed outside, filmed everything, and called the police, that would have been something else.
That would have actually been journalism, but this is just pure provocation—chasing clicks and manufacturing drama where none exists.

How can you even be sure she wasn't at a Backyard BBQ or somewhere in Golden Gate Park? 🤷 Besides, parks and private parties aren't off-limits or locked down, unlike churches and other secular institutions.

Even if she wasn't, maybe that just wasn't her assignment. It’s not like she went into this specific church to launch a personal crusade against the cross; she was likely just following orders.

The funniest part of all this is watching people practically advocate for stripping away freedom of speech and reporting rights, yet they’re the first ones to start shouting about "that old regime"—which, heaven help us, actually championed and enforced those very same ideas. 😍

She's just making a mountain out of a molehill where there wasn't even a hill to begin with.

So, there was no story happening in a place where self-isolation rules were being blatantly and openly ignored? I mean, if it's not making fools of us—the ones actually following the rules by staying away from bars, cultural hubs, or sports venues—then maybe it's just making a fool out of my grandmother. She’d probably be heading to Easter Mass right now if she could, but, well, life happens, I guess.

Why are believers getting so worked up if they aren't even doing anything wrong or prohibited? We didn't see scenes like this last Easter, for instance, when they'd film hundreds of people outside the Cathedral and other churches all over the country.

If I wanted to be particularly nasty and stir the pot even more, I could compare this to those times when Masses are held specifically for ultra-nationalist thugs, and then, once the media reports on it, everyone suddenly plays the "anti-fascist" card and acts outraged to hide what they actually did. 🙏

Yeah, it's blown up into a much bigger scandal than it really is, but honestly, that journalist still holds the moral high ground in this whole mess.

Sure, she got what she wanted; she got her scandal.

But let's not pretend getting hit was actually what she was after. I mean, come on, we can't be that naive, right? 😁

My point was that she deserved to get handled roughly, since that’s essentially what you expect from a priest like him.

I mean, people probably ought to stay far away from that guy... he seems dangerous, and who knows, maybe he'll start causing real trouble if anyone dares to step in his way.

E: I see the edit now, and yeah, you've got a point there. I haven't been following this whole debate closely, so I guess I'm a bit out of the loop on the current vibe. 😬

The next time someone tries to snap my picture with a phone or camera during a baptism at church without asking first, I might just have to throw a punch and cite your logic as my defense.

First, you should probably ask if they ever actually stood up to Jerry Maguire or if they were busy taking photos with him.🙏

And honestly, this whole schizophrenic mess? They got exactly what they were looking for.🙏 🙏

Who cares about Rupert Murdoch? He got exactly what he asked for.🙏🙏

urbanhawk17 said:Who ever said people under 60 don't get symptoms? Nobody said they don't die either; it's just that they don't die as often as the elderly.

With any illness, there are always severe cases and mild ones.

I had two bouts of pneumonia myself. One time I was stuck in bed for 15 days with a fever ranging from 99 to 103 degrees. Not a single day was lower. The cough was unbearable. Non-stop, morning till night, for 15 days straight. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The second time, I recovered in maybe 4 or 5 days. I don't remember the exact details.

Do people die from pneumonia? Yes. Do young people die? Yes.

Do people die from the flu? Yes. Do young people die? Yes.

Do people die from COVID-19? Yes. Do young people die? Yes.

I guess I don't see your point. Are you saying if someone catches COVID-19, they should just start preparing their six-foot-deep grave?

You have those two brothers who were among the first to get sick and they aren't claiming COVID-19 is some apocalyptic event... why not mention them?

Is COVID-19 bad? Sure, it is. People die from it.

But you're acting like catching this is the absolute worst thing that can happen to a person. You're even implying someone said people under 60 don't show symptoms, but I don't recall anyone ever saying that.

Try presenting the other side of the story.

It isn't all black and white.

If you really don't want to catch it, stay home and don't move, and you'll be safe.

And prepare to stay home for two years, unless you think this is just going to magically vanish on its own.

they say you're safe 😳
