Best gaming monitors? in Computer Peripherals ·
Honestly, any 22-inch LCD or LED monitor running at 1920 x1080 will get the job done... enough for you. I picked up a Dell 22-inch model a few months back and, man, I'm pretty happy with it. Having games at 1920 x1080 resolution is more than plenty; the details look sharp, especially if you've got a decent GPU to crank everything up to max settings. If you go out and grab a monitor with a higher resolution, you’re probably just setting yourself up for disappointment... you won't be able to enjoy it for long once you realize your graphics card can't actually handle the extra load later on.

Looking for a better GPU recommendation, budget around $500...$333

Just grab an ATI 4670 with 1 GB of VRAM, they go for about $500, $200 and maybe pick up another 1 or 2 GB of system RAM while you're at it. Honestly, the 4670 is the best move for that setup... plus it won't pull nearly as much power from the wall as that 9800 would.

Best ways to watch rally racing on TV? in Other Sports ·
man, i'm trying to figure out where the hell I can actually watch rally on TV... like, which channel even carries this stuff? and if there's any way to catch it live, because honestly, I've been looking everywhere and it feels like it just doesn't exist on any decent network... nowhere to be found...

You may run the risks, my friend, but I do the cutting. We cut down my percentage - uh, cigar? - liable to interfere with my aim.

Yeah, but the guy was pissed from the jump because he didn't want to settle for fifty-fifty anymore
because he's the one putting his neck on the line, so he wanted a bigger slice... hmm, how long has it been... last time I watched it was maybe five years ago. Man, that scene where Tuco is sprinting toward Sad Hill, looking all happy, and then the guy with the cigar just snipes him out of nowhere... hahahah...

Why DLZ is actually the superior flick...

Clint Eastwood... Blondie... So, looking at Charles Bronson versus Harmonica... I mean, come on. Bronson is clearly the bigger hero here. Clint? He’s just kind of scrawny, a bit too greedy for my taste, though I guess that works well enough for what he does...

Elli Wallac... just like Tuco... Man, looking at Jason Robards against Cheyenne... I’m telling you, Tuco Ramirez is easily the most greedy, bottomless pit of a character ever put on screen. Just pure, unadulterated greed. And Robards? He absolutely kills it. He just tears the role apart...

Lee van Cleef... Angel Eyes... those names just carry weight, man. You can't talk about the grit of the West without mentioning him. He had that look, you know? That cold, calculating stare that makes you feel like he’s already decided your fate before you even draw. It wasn't just acting... it was an aura. Just pure, unadulterated intensity... vs Henry Fonda... check out what he said...
So, there’s this one legendary director... you know the type... someone who just understands how the world actually works...He’s got those angel eyes, sure... but everything else about him? Pure demon. angel eyes... 🙏 🙏

It’s not like Clint was some greedy bastard from the jump... everything was pretty much fifty-fifty throughout the whole thing. Even when he started working with Tuco, they were splitting things right down the middle... until this guy finally decided to flip the script. And then, at the very end, he just handed over half the loot anyway...
Tuco is easily my favorite part of the whole movie, man... haha. Watching him get absolutely wrecked out in the desert, and then seeing his face when he finally realizes what the treasure actually is? He’s just standing there letting them lead him around like a dog. Hilarious...
It’s alright. Honestly, it’s kind of a letdown... compared to the others. I mean, the whole Sergio Leone trilogy is just pure cinematic legend, including this one, but nothing beats the classics out on the Wild West
briskhound2 said:Look, Odyssey is a solid flick. It might not be some untouchable masterpiece, but it really sits at the peak of the genre—mostly because we haven't seen many attempts at making serious sci-fi quite like this since (correct me if I'm wrong, but still)... it definitely has its flaws, though, just like any other movie. It really boils down to whether you're a fan of Arthur C. Clarke's writing or Stanley Kubrick's directing style, and if you generally dig the more "serious" side of sci-fi. That ending is pure psychedelia... you just need a bit of patience or a certain appreciation for those creators, otherwise, the whole thing is going to feel way too long and drawn out...

I've read most of Clarke's stuff. I wouldn't call myself a die-hard fan, but I've gone through his series—the frog falling ones, Nessy, all that—and found it pretty interesting. As for Blade Runner, Rutger Hauer was absolutely incredible in it. He’s also got that other decent movie, Split Second, which has a similar vibe to Blade Runner...
Joseph Watson3 said:Personally, I find Odyssey to be more enjoyable and fun to watch, though I have to admit Arthur Anderson49 makes a fair point—Blade Runner definitely hits those deeper existential notes he’s rambling about. 🙂

I'm not clicking on any of those.

calling odyssey "fun" is a stretch... maybe interesting, maybe even a slog, but definitely not fun. honestly, it's such a psychedelic trip that you half expect the directors were tripping on something when they shot it. i sat through the first 45 minutes before just giving up and turning it off...

I don't even know where to start with this one... just looking at the state of things makes me want to head straight for the nearest bar. Everything feels like it's circling the drain lately, doesn't it? Just constant noise and nothing actually changing... honestly, I'm exhausted. I can't even begin to explain this one... just looking at what boldcyclist11 said and honestly? It’s all just noise at this point. Everything feels like it's circling the drain... typical.
thanks for the kind words... appreciate it... 👍 Horses... man, they’re just something else. Honestly, such beautiful, damn smart creatures... sometimes you look at them and just realize how much more sense they make than most people out there... 😉

Jonathan Morris40 said:Man, your attitude is just top-tier... basically that classic small-town, middle-of-nowhere ignorance where you just spit on anything you don't personally understand.

Look, man, like I already told you, nobody's forcing you to install some beta Windows build. Honestly, you should be thanking the people who actually use them. If it weren't for those testers, you'd be stuck grinding at some dead-end job for half a month just to scrape together enough cash for an official version... instead, you just grab it online for free and still act like a total jerk about it.

Just chill out, seriously. If you think you're too good for it, then don't download it... simple as that.

Anyway, I'm gonna go grab a coffee and tune this out. ☕

maybe I could teach you how to actually drink coffee properly first... learn some basic life skills before you try to lecture anyone else.

Some of us actually gave it a shot and we're running it right now, and honestly, most people think it beats out both XP and Windows Vista, even if it is just in beta...

yeah, yeah, I get it, it’ll probably be better than XP or Vista eventually, but what good is that to me if half my apps won't even run because this beta version is still a mess? there aren't even any decent updates yet... unless you're willing to suffer through everything just to have your system boot up 10 seconds faster, which isn't worth the headache for me. i'm just waiting for the full release before i touch it with my PC. nothing happens until then...

Noah Miller6 said:boldcyclist11, you aren't gonna last long with an attitude like that...

Hold on, what part of that was wrong? To me, those bloatwares are just pure stupidity. You install them, then you end up nuking them just to get back to a clean version of Windows XP or Vista that actually functions right. All that effort just to delete the junk so you can reinstall a full version of Windows and have a computer that works normally again... it’s just pointless...

Jonathan Morris40 said:Take a second and actually read the last page. You'll find it when it drops.

By the way, did it ever cross your mind that they release betas specifically so people can stress-test Windows? It's all about getting feedback and squashing bugs so the OS is actually polished by the time it hits the shelves... Not like anyone's forcing you to download beta builds anyway. Just wait for the final version and call it a day.🤷

Let him test it himself. When it hits the market, I want the finished product, not some half-baked mess where I have to play tech support and tell them what's broken... honestly, why would I waste my breath and my sanity on buggy betas? And definitely not for free. Those guys at Microsoft get paid plenty to deal with this stuff, so why should I be doing their job for nothing? Let them earn their paycheck and just hand me the final, stable version once it's actually ready. Then we're even.

What kind of nonsense is this? These beta releases are such a joke... what’s even the point of jumping from version 6 to 7 when you don't even know what you're supposed to be installing? It's all just a mess. Honestly, instead of this constant back-and-forth, they should just drop the full, stable version of Windows 10 and call it a day... though who knows when we'll actually see a real, functional version of Windows 10 hit the market...

William Newman67 said:Look, first off, I don't get some of these comments... like "what topic?" or "it only supports 64-bit." I'm stoked, seriously, can't wait for the full release. I already grabbed the beta but haven't had a chance to dive in yet. It's gonna be way faster than Vista because it follows that Macintosh philosophy... we build the OS, and then it's up to everyone else to provide the driver and software support. It’s easy to build a rocket ship of an OS like that, whereas while Vista recognizes like 99% of hardware, almost everything runs... which just means it's loading a massive amount of .dll files right out of the gate, so it's no wonder people are whining about it being slow. Personally, I've been running Vista x64 for a year now, wouldn't go back to Windows XP even if my life depended on it... "Not Responding"... lol.
Try running Vista on 4GB of RAM, maybe you losers will actually change your minds. Next time, try reading the system requirements before opening your mouths. What's wrong with a 64-bit system? You aren't stuck with a 3.5GB limit, and there are like 90% fewer viruses... people are such idiots, man. It was the exact same thing when Windows XP dropped... "Ugh, this sucks, Windows 98 was king..." smart guys...

I'm with you on that... anyone still clinging to Windows XP is just a total computer noob who only uses their rig for browsing and gaming. They can't handle Vista because it's too complex for them. Comparing Vista to Windows XP is like comparing Windows XP to Windows 98... it makes no sense.
